Description

A housekeeping supervisor oversees, coordinates, and inspects every activity in the facility ranging from the kitchen workers to those working outside the kitchen environment. They supervise the cleaning of the work environment and also ensure that the food menu is followed strictly and served on time. They assess every place of duty and report to the facility manager.

1. Providing support to the steward team during events by providing logistical assistance, such as setting up equipment or cleaning up garbage.
2. Ensuring that safety protocols are followed by staff members at all times.
3. Conducting the hiring process for new stewards, including reviewing applications and interviewing candidates.
4. Maintaining a safe environment for event attendees.
5. Developing and implementing training programs for new stewards to ensure that they are able to perform their duties effectively.
6. Supervising event staff, including monitoring their performance and providing feedback where necessary.
7. Managing inventory levels of supplies used during events, such as paper towels, napkins, soap, cleaning products, and food items.
8. Coordinating with vendors to ensure that supplies are delivered on time.
9. Determining the need for additional staff members based on event attendance rates and other factors.
10. Contributing and promoting a safe environment within the buildings and areas for all end-users.
11. Building positive working relationships with team members to ensure a good working environment.
12. Ensuring all equipment is maintained in good working order, clean, and pest-free.
13. Following the Rules and Regulations of the department and ensuring the safety of the housekeepers at work.
14. Attending training sessions as required.
15. Performing other applicable tasks and duties within the realm of knowledge, skills, and abilities as may from time to time be delegated.

• Manage and supervise all tasks of his/her staff

What we need from you

• Literacy skills - reading, writing and basic maths skills
• Flexible attitude to shifts – you may be required to work nights, weekends and/or holidays
• High school education, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3 years of experience working in housekeeping is required in a high-volume hotel, conference centre or resort with at least one of those in a supervisory role.
