Qiddiya Investment Company is excited to invite applications for the position of Executive Director - Visitor & Community Services. This role will oversee all areas of the Visitor and Community Services function within the DMMO, working cross-functionally across the wider Qiddiya ecosystem.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop a customer-centric Visitor & Community Services Strategy to enhance visitor and resident experiences, including strategic and tactical plans, objectives, KPIs, and initiatives
  • Serve as the ‘voice of the visitor' by designing, supporting, measuring, and improving the visitor journey across all touchpoints in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
  • Develop and manage world-class visitor experience centres using innovative technology and creative solutions
  • Monitor and analyze visitor experience metrics, setting benchmark KPIs based on leading global destinations
  • Ensure consistency of the visitor experience across Qiddiya City and its districts by coordinating with asset-level operators
  • Design and deliver visitor experience training and education programs for all relevant stakeholders
  • Regularly review visitor offerings and lead the implementation of improvement initiatives
  • Build sector knowledge through continuous research, insights, and participation in industry events
  • Manage the assets incentives program to drive high standards in visitor experience across all assets
  • Develop and execute a destination management strategy to mitigate negative tourism impacts on local communities
  • Foster positive local sentiment towards tourism through proactive community engagement initiatives
  • Create and implement communication plans to inform communities via appropriate channels
  • Develop benchmarking tools to monitor and measure community sentiment
  • Perform executive duties as a member of the DMMO leadership team, including reporting and additional responsibilities as assigned by the Head of DMMO
  • Adapt to evolving organizational needs with flexibility in duties and responsibilities as Qiddiya City and the DMMO grow

Requirements

  • 15+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Proven track record in designing and implementing visitor experience and community engagement initiatives
  • Prior experience in a destination management role, with a strong understanding of tourism impact and stakeholder coordination

The role of a Community Engineer

The Community team at Canonical enables community leaders and participants to get things done, co-ordinating with Canonical teams and ensuring that community processes are efficient and well run. We don't do the work of the community, but we facilitate that work to ensure that energetic and ambitious community members with their own vision of open source can benefit from the work Canonical does and bring their own flavor of Ubuntu into being, to meet the needs and express the interests of their community. You will play a key role in designing, executing, and scaling initiatives that foster a thriving community.

This is an exciting opportunity for a technically proficient person who is passionate about open source software, Linux, and sustainable community building.

In this role, you will support community initiatives with your technical skills and strong organizational skills. You work hand in hand with developers to smooth processes and integrate community plans with Canonical plans for maximum impact. You can encourage and facilitate the creation of new technical projects that enhance the community contribution experience, and you represent community interests to Canonical teams. You will lead complex, multi-disciplinary programs from conception through launch, working closely with Developer Relations engineers, technical authors, product managers, marketing teams, engineering teams, and external partners.

You will support and engage with volunteer developers in the Ubuntu community, addressing their concerns and helping them to create successful tools. You will help to ensure their success and the overall autonomy and sustainability of projects.

You will provide the content and technical support to ensure the community stays engaged and informed. This will include regular blog and social media posts about community initiatives, events, accomplishments, and collaborative efforts between Canonical and the Ubuntu community.

You will communicate effectively with developers and software engineers and represent not only the Ubuntu community but Canonical as a contributor to the wider Linux ecosystem. Our team attends conferences and expos, and talks about technical community projects and their development processes.

Location : These are fully remote roles, open to candidates across the globe.

  • Write high quality content to promote and support community initiatives
  • Discuss ideas and collaborate on finding good solutions to community problems
  • Work from home with global travel 2 to 4 weeks for internal and external events
  • Potential opportunity to travel more if you wish
  • Nurture community contributions to Ubuntu
  • Engage with the Ubuntu community through Discourse, Matrix, social media, conferences, etc.
  • Represent Ubuntu via speaking engagements at events and conferences
  • Support the engagement by Canonical teams into the open source ecosystem

The Design Creative Director in The LINE Design team will lead and manage the design of different assets related to The Line. The Creative Design Director for THE LINE Design team will oversee the design quality of neighborhood master plans and architectural designs for THE LINE Module 46. This role entails ensuring creative design excellence for a module consisting of eight neighborhoods, covering approximately 4,000,000 square meters of assets. The Director will maintain a comprehensive overview of the module, guiding and understanding the creative design development, and will challenge the design teams to deliver optimal design solutions.

The Creative Design Director will work in close collaboration with the Design Management Director and the Neighborhood Design Directors to ensure consistency across various neighborhoods within the module.

Time will be allocated 80% on Neighborhoods designs, and 20% on NEOM Business responsibilities.

Reporting to: Design Director Neighborhoods Module 46, THE LINE.

Responsibilities

  • Drive quality of Neighborhoods design and implementation of the Vision for THE LINE.
  • Manage the design by creative approach, spatial qualities, and aesthetic / architectural character.
  • Oversee the quality of Neighborhood master planning, public realm design, architectural, and engineering design.
  • Lead the design quality delivery from concept through schematic design for various architectural.
  • Asset types: residential, hospitality, commercial, retail, mixed use, healthcare, educational, cultural, etc.
  • Understand the importance of urban design in context of master planning and architecture.
  • Commitment to innovation and design excellence.
  • Manage the creative design interfaces of Neighborhoods with City-level designers (City Planning.
  • Consultant, City Asset Design Architect, and City Infrastructure Engineers), and Urban Designers / Public Realm Designers.
  • Coordinate the creative design interfaces between Neighborhoods, and of Neighborhoods with Anchor Assets.
  • Collaborate with THE LINE Development and THE LINE Projects Neighborhood teams, to ensure integrated delivery.
  • Creative role in Design and Asset Brief compliance, conformance to Development Control Regulations, Guidelines, and Design KPIs, including design coordination of architectural designs with other disciplines.
  • Single point of contact for project Leadership.
  • Escalation point for Design Consultants.

Role Competencies & Activities

Key design related roles:

  • Develop THE LINE architecture design and ensures implementation across the module.
  • Responsible as part of the senior management team for delivering THE LINE Design Management mandate, including stakeholder engagement internally and externally.
  • Managing the design by creative approach and aesthetic design.
  • Design delivery from concept design to completion.
  • Responsible to deliver the design of various architectural typologies: residential, mixed use, commercial, public, healthcare, educational, civic and cultural, etc.
  • Manage architectural design consultants to deliver NEOM architectural content and context.
  • Strong ability to prepare, develop and edit drawings and presentations.
  • Supervise the production of visualization, pre-concept, concept, developed and detailed design .
  • Acts as Lead reviewer of qualitative architectural design review process, providing analysis, comment, and recommendation to executive management.
  • Management and oversight of Senior Architects, Architects, Designers within the department and across different sectors/departments.
  • Draft comprehensive architectural sets from concept until detailed design documents.
  • Manages Design and Asset Brief compliance, completeness and accuracy, including design coordination within architecture and across disciplines.
  • Lead, develop and review design asset briefs.
  • Prepare SoW, specifications, reports and related data tables.
  • Lead and develop design manuals, standard design documents.
  • Manages preparation of and checks materials schedules and sample boards and mock-ups.
  • Manages preparation of and checks FF&E schedules and sourcing, including samples and mock-ups as appropriate.
  • Understanding materiality and its specifications.
  • Understanding Public realm design and application.
  • Technical detailing and construction administration experience.
  • Ability to solve design issues in a creative and pragmatic way by developing multiple designs options that meet the design approach and budget.
  • Manage communication, coordination, and management of consultants, contractors, various NEOM departments/sectors.
  • Produce deliverables in accordance with NEOM standards and policies.

  • Prepare and deliver presentations, reports, and other communication materials tailored to stakeholder needs.
  • Ensure that all stakeholder engagement activities comply with the relevant regulations and ethical standards.

  • Design experience in various architectural types: residential, mix use, commercial, public, healthcare, educational, etc.
  • Experience and extensive knowledge on design and construction materials and their application.
  • Design experience of public realm design and application.
  • Extensive project experience with emphasis on large projects and programs.
  • Experience in Middle East is appreciated.

Qualifications

  • B.Arch or B.Sc. in Architecture from a recognized university.
  • Postgraduate in Architecture or Urban Design.
  • International accreditation (RIBA, AIA, or equivalent)
