The Global Real Estate and Facilities (GREF) team provides real estate transaction expertise, business partnering, space & occupancy planning, design and construction, capital investment program management and facility maintenance and operations for Amazon’s corporate real estate portfolio across multiple countries. We partner with suppliers to ensure quality, innovation and operational excellence with Amazon’s business and utilize customer driven feedback to continuously improve and exceed employee expectations.

GREF’s Workplace Design and Construction team is looking for a Construction Manager to drive construction services on projects, including tenant improvements, new builds, expansions, and renovations of Amazon corporate facilities. Responsible for delivery of projects from outset of design through operational turnover, this individual must be comfortable operating on both strategic and tactical levels, simultaneously acting as a visionary, an internal ambassador, educator, analyst, solutions architect, and implementer. This role collaborates with leadership and other stakeholders to set a budget and schedule, then drive project objectives, scope, space allocation, cost, prioritization and sequencing of requests all within the set parameters. All of this is accomplished by building strong project teams that thrive and excel through collaboration. Manage contractor performance to ensure timely completion, compliance with cost requirements, organizational standards and other requirements and regulations.


Key job responsibilities
- Represent GREF to internal customers for the delivery of their space.
- Work closely with and influence internal and external stakeholders including architects, consultants, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure decisions are made at the appropriate level and Amazon’s priorities are always the driving factor.
- Provide management of design and construction projects, which may include the following:
- Develop and implement project strategies and ensure appropriate resources are allocated to complete the project in accordance with the strategy. Develop and maintain project timelines.
- Lead project meetings and progress reviews.
- Provide feedback to design guidelines, including minimum specifications, basis of design for various building systems, etc.
- Guidance of construction, including selection of contractors, contract negotiations, approvals of budgets, change orders, procurement and contracting methods, schedule, and subcontractors.
- Evaluations, approvals, or rejections of changes by customers and other consultants
- Monitor project budgets, track costs and prepare forecasts and accruals, manage change orders and contract modifications, review and approve payments.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, ensure compliance with contracts and regulations, monitor safety standards and requirements, address and resolve project issues.
- Hold Landlords accountable to lease terms such as premises delivery timing and condition.
- Ensure tenant improvement allowances are collected timely.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Significant professional experience required in Real Estate Development, Architecture/Design, and/or Construction Management.
- Highly competent with productivity software, including Microsoft Office, MS Project and SharePoint.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- University/Undergraduate degree in construction management, business administration, engineering, architecture, interior design, or a similar discipline.
- Keen understanding of sourcing/procurement, building systems and maintenance, vendor management and customer service.
- Comfortable with legal terms and structures for standard commercial contracts and leases.

Key job responsibilities
• Responsible for project management over new construction of Fulfillment Centers throughout the AMET region as well as renovations and capacity improvements within existing facilities.
• Advise on the impact of changes in schedule, costs, and permitting.
• Support construction scope review and development with internal technical teams and operational customers to facilitate engineering and design efforts on new and remodel projects.
• Responsible for managing multiple projects simultaneously, from relatively small renovations to large-sized ($100M+) new facilities.
• Work independently in the assigned regional area with minimal direction from leadership.

Role Summary

  • To be the primary point of contact at site for all sub-contractors and Client vendors as well as the Landlord and/or Client’s representative
  • To ensure that the Mall / Landlord’s rules and regulations are complied with at all times
  • To coordinate with the commercial team to ensure variations, project changes and contra charges are captured
  • To analyse the BOQ and IFC drawings to make sure the scope of work is clearly defined and to identify if there are any scope gaps
  • To make sure that the materials being used on site are following the specification and approved submissions
  • To proactively identify potential clashes of works and trades, to resolve any conflicts and provide solutions on site or if unable to do so, then raise RFI’s or immediately bring the issue to the Project Manager’s attention
  • To ensure the quality inspections are being executed correctly and any rectifications are handled swiftly and effectively
  • To ensure that the health and safety procedures are being followed at all times and that the welfare of the workers and working conditions are being considered and maintained
  • To attend and, as required, to lead the site progress meetings with various stakeholders, including the Client, the various Consultant’s, and the Clients representatives
  • To provide input to the regular Management Reports as required
  • To control the entire testing and commissioning stages as well as de-snagging and final close out and handover of the project

Job Description

The Engineer II, Construction – Infrastructure is responsible for overseeing and coordinating infrastructure construction activities on-site. This includes ensuring that works such as roads, drainage, utilities, and civil structures are executed according to approved designs, specifications, safety standards, and project schedules.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise day-to-day construction activities related to infrastructure (e.g., earthworks, utilities, roads, and drainage systems).


  • Ensure all works are carried out as per approved drawings, specifications, and method statements.


  • Coordinate with subcontractors, consultants, and internal teams to maintain workflow and resolve technical issues.


  • Monitor construction progress and report deviations or delays to the Construction Manager.


  • Conduct inspections and quality checks in collaboration with QA/QC and HSE teams.


  • Assist in preparing and updating daily/weekly progress reports and site documentation.


  • Ensure safety regulations are strictly followed by all site personnel.


  • Participate in site meetings and support planning and scheduling of infrastructure works.


  • Identify potential risks and propose solutions to avoid delays or rework.



  1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.

The project:
This is an opportunity to work on a large luxury -use development in Umluj, KSA. Mace is providing project management consultancy services.


You’ll be responsible for:





  • Deliver infrastructure projects: STPs, RO Plants, Data Centers, Generator Farms.





  • Manage remote roads, earthworks, drainage systems, and utility networks.





  • Apply strong knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, and materials.





  • Lead safety, quality, and wellbeing initiatives across project sites.





  • Coordinate with contractors to meet programme milestones.





  • Ensure QA compliance and timely handovers.





  • Support forecast and lookahead meetings with technical input.





  • Monitor contractor performance with commercial awareness.





  • Drive continuous improvement with a solution-focused mindset.





  • Build strong stakeholder relationships and apply effective negotiation skills.





  • Works collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon.




You’ll need to have:





  • Necessary visa criteria for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and have relevant work experience working on high valued projects/ programmes for a project management consultancy business, which are required for immigration and client approval.





  • Relevant bachelor’s degree (or equivalent).





  • Middle East Experience.
