KFUPM ranks 7th globally in the 2025 QS World University Rankings by subject category of Minerals and Mining Engineering. The Department has 22 full-time faculty, two lecturers, six post-docs, five supporting staff, and approximately 71 undergraduate majors and 153 graduate students. State-of-the-science analytical facilities are housed in CPG. Research interests should complement and support programs, and candidates linking their research in environmental management to the exploration and development of hydrocarbon or mineral deposit resources are desired. Applicants should demonstrate a record of successful teaching and possess strong interpersonal, writing, and communication skills. The successful candidate must be highly motivated, technically proficient, and able to work independently but collaboratively with others.
