Overview

We are seeking an experienced Heater & Refractory Engineer to join our Global Manufacturing Excellence Team under Reliability Solutions Department (RSD).

RSD is a multi-disciplinary organization that provides engineering support to Saudi Aramco Global Manufacturing wholly owned and affiliates’ facilities (Refining, NGL Processing, and Petrochemicals). This includes reliability, inspection, corrosion management, static equipment, rotating equipment, electrical equipment, instrumentation and control support.

Your primary role as a Heater & Refractory Engineer is to provide technical support to operating facilities, projects, and the deployment of new technologies pertaining to heaters integrity. You will also conduct technical studies and analyses for heaters. You will work jointly with subject matter experts of various engineering disciplines. In addition, you will coach, and support the training and development of junior engineers within the team.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct simple and complex analyses related to the design, specification, and applications engineering tasks associated with heaters & refractory.
  • Evaluate, select, specify, and engineer fired equipment packages suitable for design needs for a reliable, cost-effective, and efficient operation.
  • Select and implement appropriate designs for fired equipment.
  • Perform field troubleshooting & technical assessment for heaters & refractory.
  • Participate in major turnarounds and emergency plant shutdowns providing support to resolve heaters & refractory issues.
  • Provide technical support to maintenance organizations.
  • Calculate remaining life of heater tubes and provide safe and optimized tube replacement schedule.
  • Perform investigations of heaters & refractory failures to identify root cause(s) and to prevent reoccurrence of such failures.
  • Develop repair procedures as required.
  • Review detailed drawings and material specifications as requested.
  • Participate in HAZOP Studies review.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar. An advanced degree is preferable.
  • 15 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry’s downstream sector, with a minimum of 10 years working with heaters & refractory.
  • Able to demonstrate knowledge encompassing fired heaters, refractory, flares, incinerators, boilers, SCRs, and similar systems including auxiliaries, related to Refining, NGL, and petrochemical industries.
  • Deep knowledge of various codes and standards including ASME Section VIII Divisions 1 & 2, ASME Section I, API-530, API-535, API-537, API-560, API-579, API-936 and NFPA standards, and others applicable to heaters and refractory.
  • Able to demonstrate significant experience in inspection and failure analysis of heaters and refractory.
  • Deep understanding of remaining life calculations and fitness for service of fired heaters and refractory.
  • Significant understanding of refractory design, materials, application, and repair.

POSITION OVERVIEW

  3. Strong knowledge of the Saudi market and business culture.
  4. Fluent in Arabic and English, both written and spoken.
  5. Experience with integrated campaign management and event execution.
  6. Excellent communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

The Position:

Perform Line Maintenance on Aircraft In Flight Entertainment and Connectivity (IFEC) systems and other aircraft equipment to ensure system serviceability and functionality. Carry out systems troubleshooting using basic computer and electronic theories and test equipment. Remove and replace components and equipment in accordance with regulations, policies, and procedures. Complete all administrative duties associated with maintenance actions performed.

Key Responsibilities

  • IFEC and Aircraft Systems Maintenance:
    • Performance of maintenance tasks including component replacement, adjustments, inspections, functional tests, and its certification which includes but not limited to:
    • Remove and replace components in accordance with all applicable documentation.
    • Troubleshoot system failures down to Line Replaceable Units (LRU), cabling, or other aircraft systems and perform functional tests post rectification.
    • Perform Cabin Sweep's in accordance with Panasonic LMP's and report findings.
    • Perform Built-in (BITE) and manual test.
    • Perform Software and Media Loading.
    • Clean components and equipment racks/filters if applicable to contract.
    • Complete aircraft documentation in accordance with customer specific requirements
    • Ensure timely escalation and coordination in close contact with the Lead or Supervisor of any problem occurring in the assigned aircraft area.
    • Perform other reasonable related duties as assigned by Lead or Supervisor.
    • As required, based on aircraft type, may work on other aircraft equipment as assigned.
    • Communicate and interface with customer.
    • Certify for all work completed as applicable under a company issued authority and governing regulations.
  • Administrative:
    • Assist in the management of airside inventory, cycle counting, packaging and shipping of inventory.
    • Maintain high standards of housekeeping health and safety and tool care.
    • Perform other reasonable related duties as assigned by immediate Supervisor or Management.

Qualifications

What We're Looking For:

  • Secondary/Technical School degree.
  • 12 months experience on the Panasonic IFEC systems.
  • Minimum of 24 months on-aircraft experience.
  • Must have worked on aircraft in the last 18 months.
  • Preferably hold appropriate valid KSA GACA Aircraft License / Authority or equivalent required to certify customers different aircraft types/systems at assigned location.
  • Essential aircraft maintenance experience.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a high-stress, high-pressure environment.

  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

**About the role**
This position is for a Senior Field Technician in Aftermarket and Service who is under general supervision. Installs, tests, services and repairs basic equipment to conform with company operating specifications and customer requirements. Performs basic on-site preventative maintenance, routine repair, and calibration after installation. May assist in orienting, training, and assigning the work of technical/business support employees.

+ Uses standard procedures to install, test, service and repair basic equipment to conform with company operating specifications and customer requirements.
+ Uses standard procedures to perform basic on-site preventative maintenance, routine repair, and calibration after installation.
+ Inspects equipment on a regular basis to ensure proper functioning.
+ Maintains equipment logs that record performance problems, repairs, calibrations, or tests and submits weekly reports summarizing these activities.

**JOB PURPOSE**

BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force aircraft and train RSAF personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons.

**JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES**
- To carry out mechanical maintenance, repairs and modifications for Tornado on and off aircraft.
- Maybe required to provide support to RSAF away from Tornado Support Service (TSS).
- Performs major and minor mechanical maintenance, repairs, modifications and TCTO’s for Tornado on and off aircraft.
- Is responsible for the quality and completeness of the work he carries out, or signs for as having been carried out, on an aircraft or aircraft component in accordance with the approved data.
- Works within the requirements of the TSS Quality Management System, Safety Management System and RSAF Technical Orders.
- Completes Maintenance paperwork forms, appropriate aircraft forms, records and maintenance documentation both hard and electronic copies.
- Ensures maximum effort is made to safeguard the TSS programme timescales in a safe, efficient and cost-effective manner.
- Highlights to his immediate supervisor areas of inexperience or training requirements, for himself and others.
- Provides on-the-job and theory training for trainees.
- Deputises, if required, for the aircraft supervisor.

**RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION**
- Extensive experience within an operational flying aircraft environment supported by formal recorded workplace applied related training OR experience on Tornado aircraft OR successful completion of BAESSA apprenticeship programme (SNTTP/TSNTTP)
- Current authorisations for aircraft maintenance.
- Completion of Tornado Aircraft maintenance course.
- Working knowledge of Q-pulse, GOLD and an understanding of M&CA processes.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
- Hold a current driving licence.
- A sound understanding of the RSAF 4-1-7166 series and supporting technical publication applicable to his work area.
- An understanding of the RSAF Operation and working practice
