The Amazon Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) team is deeply committed to the safety and wellbeing of our people. To support these goals, Amazon is seeking an experienced and dynamic Onsite Medical Representative (OMR) to join our team. In this position, you will work closely with the WHS Site Manager, WHS Specialist, and occasionally the Injury Prevention Specialist (IPS). This includes attending weekly associate safety committee meetings, greeting all new hires for the site or through daily one-on-one interaction. Additionally, the OMR will participate in weekly case management review meetings as necessary.
As an OMR, you will independently assess and administer first aid as well as offer guidance to Amazon Associates (AAs) on both occupational and non-occupational injuries or illnesses. You should be passionate about learning and advocating health and wellness principles to consistently support AAs on a daily basis. You will refer care to outside medical providers as needed, and learn about OSHA regulations, risk, and analysis.
The OMR will function as a part of the larger team onsite, assisting with all first aid needs and support safety operations as needed.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Provide first aid support and make referrals to outside medical providers as necessary.
• Minimize the AA risk of injury through awareness, education, and proactive engagement.
• Maintain all records of care provided to AAs.
• Coordinate and maintain the workers’ compensation and return to work programs for AAs with work-related injuries.
• Provide daily activity logs and end of shift reports.
• Engage with AAs and leadership on operations floor to provide coaching regarding observed at-risk work habits.
• Maintain a clean working environment and ensure appropriate medical supply inventory is maintained.
• Participate in training and certification to facilitate first aid, CPR and AED certifications classes.
• Maintain all first aid, CPR, AED credentials.
• Work flexible shifts which could include days, nights, holidays, and/or weekends.
• Assist with random saliva drug testing protocols.
• Maintain effective care delivery in emergencies and assist emergency response at the site.
For those that do not have an adult First Aid, CPR, AED certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, must obtain within 3 weeks of start date.
- High school or equivalent diploma
- Current valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by an approved emergency cardiac care (ECC) provider; AND must have one of the following:
- Current valid Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) OR Paramedic Certification from the Department of Health OR the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT); OR
- In the last year, six months job experience in the Military as a Combat Medic (U.S. Army), Field Medic (U.S. Army), Healthcare Specialist (U.S. Army), Hospital Corpsman (U.S. Navy), or Aerospace Medical Service Technician (U.S. Air Force); OR
- Current Active Athletic Trainer Certification by either the Board of Certification (BOC) or equivalent State Certification
- Certified to teach first aid, CPR, and AED training from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Experience with an industrial wellness program
- Experience managing musculoskeletal disorders, ergonomics, and coaching on body mechanics
- Demonstrated work experience with OSHA regulations and Workers Compensation
- Proficient in digital recordkeeping

To implement clinical and educational strategies in collaboration with other Novartis colleagues for designated stakeholders. To pair key stakeholders’ scientific educational and research needs with available Novartis resources and provide the latest emerging data in response to specific HCP inquiries, as appropriate
About the RoleMajor accountabilities:
Medical Expert Engagement
- In collaboration with the cross-functional team, ensure appropriate identification, mapping and engagement of Medical Experts and study investigators in alignment to Integrated product strategy (IPS)
- Provide and discuss medical, scientific and health care and outcome research evidence on new treatment options, Novartis compounds, products, therapeutic and research areas with key HCPs (e.g. external Medical Experts, researchers, key patient care providers) and relevant stakeholders involved in patient treatment decisions.
- Upon unsolicited requests for information from HCPs, present data on Novartis products, this may include internally Globally approved information on compounds in development with no approved indications.
- Involve HCPs when a need is identified to provide support / advice / participate in specific med-ical and scientific activities e.g. advisory boards, education of HCPs, publications, etc.
- Scientific Research Support
- Provide scientific education and share information about Novartis clinical research program to identify potential study sites and support study accrual for key trials as appropriate.
- Provide feasibility and research site recommendation for Novartis sponsored clinical trials.
- Upon investigator request, liaise between potential researcher and the Company on IIT sub-mission process or requests for research grade substance (Material Transfer Agreements) to support independent clinical / preclinical research.
Scientific Exchange/Insights
- Support scientific exchange to advance understanding of new scientific principles, novel re-search trends, and current scientific debate.
- Provide scientific and educational information to HCPs on specific patient critical issues.
- Collect, analyze and report insights from HCPs to inform and shape medical strategy.
Internal Novartis Contributions
- Serves as local medical resource for disease area and compound/product training to Novartis field colleagues (e.g. sales reps, CRAs).
- Contribute to shape the IPS plan proactively providing external stakeholders’ insights and contribute to the design and execution and the Medical Affairs strategy and plan.

- Ensure relevant processes and compliance procedures e.g. IIT processes, Medical Affairs Field Interactions Global NP4 Implementing Procedure, MA & HEOR Activities (P-NP) are al-ways followed.

Ideal Background

- Proven ability to develop and foster peer-to-peer, credible relationships with Medical Experts and decision makers.
- Working knowledge of the Healthcare System and research procedures as well as the ICH guidelines, GCP and other ethical guidelines relevant to the pharmaceutical industry.
- Experience in medical education and communications in at least one therapeutic area.
- Ability to understand and effectively convey emergent scientific and HEOR data.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy and Mandate
- Reviews, understands and remains aligned with Directorate for Audit strategy
Policy and Procedures
- Reviews, understands and complies with Directorate for Audit policies and procedures
- Provides input into unit level Medical Strategic Operations Audit annual plan
- Supports delivery of the Medical Strategic Operations Audit plan in accordance with agreed Audit plan, timetable, resources, and budgets
Operational
Execution
- Supports execution of Medical Strategic Operations Audit unit assignments in annual plan and related Medical Strategic Operations Audit activity
- Supports execution of audits, including tasks associated with development of work plans, planning delivery of audits and undertaking execution of fieldwork (including conducting meetings, documenting processes, undertaking testing of controls) and other actions assigned by the Unit Head for Medical Strategic Operations Audit
- Prepares audit assignment working paper files
- Represents Medical Strategic Operations Audit in meetings and working groups as required
- Ensures that appropriate documentation is retained as required from all stakeholder engagements that occur outside of individual audit assignments
- Assists the Unit Head for Medical Strategic Operations Audit in any other matters as required
Reporting
- Supports the drafting of reports from individual assignments
- Conducts initial review of draft reports against working papers
- Submits draft reports for review by Unit Head for Medical Strategic Operations Audit
QA
- Supports Unit Head for Medical Strategic Operations Audit with live quality review as required
- Supports Unit Head for Medical Strategic Operations Audit to address results of QA
People and Talent Management
In close coordination with GD for HR:
- Manages professional development of Medical Strategic Operations Audit staff
- Leads, manages, and guides staff assigned as part of execution of individual audits or other ad hoc assignments from Unit Head for Medical Strategic Operations Audit
In close coordination with GD for Finance:
- Supports Unit Head for Medical Strategic Operations Audit to identify all Medical Strategic Operations Audit budget requirements
Stakeholder Management
- Supports stakeholder engagement for delivery of Medical Strategic Operations Audit plan as directed by the Unit Head for Medical Strategic Operations Audit
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree (or similar) in regulatory, medical,or similar professions
- Professional Certification: healthcare regulatory or similar
- Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) certificate preferred
- Master’s Degree preferred
Experience
- Minimum of 6 years of medical services experience
- Government Hospitals/Consultancy Firm related experience would be an advantage
Skills
Technical/practical skills
- Advanced knowledge in internal audit
- Advanced knowledge in medical governance, systems and controls including assessment of potential changes and their impact on operations
- Advanced knowledge in risk assessment and analysis
Business expertise
- Advanced knowledge of working across different functions in a corporate or government environment
- Basic knowledge of control environment across medical operations and different internal and external factors that affect its performance
- Basic knowledge of latest profession trends, medical audit and risk management techniques, and practices

The Medical Affairs Director for AstraZeneca Saudi Arabia is a key member of the affiliate Leadership Team, accountable for the strategic leadership and direction of the Medical Affairs function. You will ensure the highest standards of scientific, ethical, and medical expertise are applied in supporting the safe and effective use of AstraZeneca’s medicines. The role leads collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to deliver evidence-based medical strategies, clinical insights, knowledge exchange, and scientific engagement. You will have a vital voice in shaping commercial, regulatory, and patient access strategies, ensuring alignment with global and regional objectives while maintaining a focus on the Saudi Arabian healthcare environment and patient needs.
What you’ll do
- Develop and execute the local Medical Affairs strategy in alignment with regional and global strategic imperatives and AstraZeneca’s science-led approach.
- Provide scientific advice and strategic guidance to internal stakeholders (Commercial, Market Access, Regulatory, Clinical Operations) to support decision-making and maximize patient benefit.
- Oversee the planning and execution of medical activities and programs, including investigator-initiated studies, real-world evidence generation, advisory boards, and scientific exchange events.
- Build, lead, and inspire a high-performing Medical Affairs team, ensuring robust performance management, talent development, and a culture of scientific excellence and compliance.
- Serve as the primary medical interface for key external experts, healthcare professionals, academic institutions, and patient advocacy groups, fostering trusted scientific relationships.
- Ensure the timely and compliant dissemination of medical and scientific information, consistent with local regulatory and ethical standards.
- Support the launch and lifecycle management of AstraZeneca’s product portfolio by delivering relevant medical education, data generation, medical insights, and effective collaboration with global teams.
- Oversee review and approval of promotional and non-promotional materials, ensuring adherence to medical and regulatory standards.
- Maintain up-to-date awareness of scientific developments, clinical practice trends, and local healthcare regulations to anticipate impacts and drive appropriate internal adjustments.
- Ensure compliance with AstraZeneca policies, local regulatory requirements, and international codes governing medical activities.
- Represent AstraZeneca in key external medical and scientific forums, shaping the affiliate’s reputation as a leader in science and patient care.
Essential for the role
- Medical degree (MD, PharmD); postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in Medical Affairs or related scientific roles within the pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity.
- In-depth understanding of the local healthcare ecosystem, clinical practice, regulatory environment, and scientific trends within Saudi Arabia.
- Proven ability to engage and influence key opinion leaders, stakeholders, and decision-makers.
- Demonstrated expertise in leading medical strategy, scientific communication, and evidence generation.
- Excellent leadership, team management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
