Meso Saudi Arabia, looking for a Safety Officer to join our team. You will ensure that workforce operating at the client’s mine site complies with Metso’s internal safety procedures and the client’s HSE regulations. The Safety Officer will drive proactive safety practices, demonstrate compliance with client expectations, and foster a culture of continuous safety improvement. Performance will be measured using key safety metrics including CCV, LSR compliance, VFL engagement, and behavioral observations.
This position will be located at remote site in Saudi Arabia and you will be working in rotation basis.

What You’ll Do
- Enforce Metso’s HSE policies and ensure full adherence to the client’s HSE standards, including Life-Saving Rules (LSRs).
- Ensure the implementation and tracking of Critical Control Verification (CCV) for all high-risk activities.
- Participate in daily HSE coordination meetings with the client and support joint inspections.
- Monitor the site continuously for unsafe conditions, behaviors, or deviations from approved safety procedures.
- Track and report safety KPIs including:
- CCV compliance rate
- LSR violations and interventions
- VFL (Visible Felt Leadership) engagements and leadership walkthroughs
- Behavior-based safety observations (positive and at-risk)
- Submit daily, weekly, and monthly HSE reports to both Metso management and the client, reflecting performance against KPIs.
- Deliver site-specific HSE inductions and toolbox talks to all new metso workforce members and subcontractors.
- Reinforce understanding and application of LSRs through regular briefings and scenario-based learning.
- Promote awareness of CCV procedures and actively participate in coaching sessions and safety campaigns.
- Lead and document JSAs, HIRAs, and PTWs for Metso-controlled activities.
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe acts involving Metso personnel; conduct Root Cause Analysis and follow up on corrective actions.
- Ensure timely close-out of all action items raised through the observation system or client audits.
- Support VFL programs by participating in and facilitating leadership engagements and safety interactions.
- Coordinate emergency drills and verify that all emergency equipment is compliant and functional.
- Serve as a key contact for emergency response coordination with the client
- Minimum 3 years in a safety role within mining, construction, or heavy industry.
- Diploma or Bachelor’s in Occupational Health & Safety or related field.
- Direct experience working on client-controlled sites with LSR and CCV implementation.
- Previous HSE experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Experience in OSHA, MSHA, DOT standards.
- NEBOSH IGC or equivalent certification is preferred.
- Hands-on and detail-oriented.
- Recognize potential safety hazards and safeguard a safe working environment.
