A fleet manager is a logistics expert and is usually employed in the transportation sector. The job requires using a fleet tracking system to ensure maximum operational efficiency of the company. They spearhead the fleet management workflow, to improve strategies, policies, and procedures, for the fleet of vehicles that are employed by the company. From recruiting certified quality drivers to maintaining all the documents and records of the fleet or vehicle, fleet management as a profession is multi-faceted in nature. The role requires great organisational and quantitative skills.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the A-Z of the logistics for the fleet, from GPS tracking for fleet trucks to fleet administration and servicing of the carriers or vehicles
  • Conduct periodic surveys and inspections of the vehicles and ensure that they are up to par to maximise productivity
  • Monitor the compliance, quality control and assurance standards for all areas of fleet management
  • Maintain proper documentation and records for all the areas of fleet activities
  • Schedule regular vehicle management and maintenance checkups
  • Manage the drivers and their job roles, and ensure that they stick to the rules and regulations set in place by the company
  • Ensure maximum fuel efficiency through effective fuel management, which in turn increases the profits of the business
  • Assist in the recruitment and management of drivers
  • Track and update the vehicle management system
  • Monitor the documentation and records of the vehicles, especially areas related to the inspections, certifications, and servicing
  • Ensure optimal vehicle management by conducting proper repairs of the fleet
  • Partake in budgeting and maintaining the costs for proper fleet management
  • Manage the logistics fleet management aspects of the vehicle
Required skills and qualifications
  • Prior experience working as a fleet manager, logistics manager or in a similar job role
  • Valid driver’s license to operate different modes of fleet
  • In-depth knowledge of the transportation industry and its current trends
  • Proficiency in using computerised fleet management software/tools
  • Outstanding analytical, decision-making and leadership skills
Preferred skills and qualifications
  • Degree or diploma in logistics, supply-chain management, or a similar discipline
  • Expertise in budgeting and cost control
  • Knowledge of fleet servicing, fleet scheduling, fleet analysis, and operations

- Confer with various Company departments concerning vehicle needs and issues

- Direct garage activities to assure Company vehicles are maintained in safe and proper operating condition
- Monitor, evaluate, and determine the priority of vehicle maintenance, servicing, and repair projects
- Review the work of mechanics and other maintenance personnel to assure compliance with established standards, guidelines, and procedures
- Direct off-site maintenance, repair, and recovery functions for roadside vehicle malfunctions
- Plan, organize, and direct the procurement of Company vehicles
- Prepare vehicle specifications according to Company's need
- Research and evaluate new vehicles
- Coordinate the purchasing and assure optimal pricing and quality of vehicles for the Company
- Participate in related negotiation and quotation activities; oversee the selling or disposal of used Company vehicles
- Coordinate and direct the operation of the Company fleet tracking and rental system including automated record-keeping and billing functions.
- Oversee and assure proper input of related data including cost per vehicle and invoice information
- Assist with the processing of insurance claims involving Company vehicles
- Monitor and evaluate Company vehicle maintenance, servicing, and repair functions to identify needs and determine financial effectiveness and operational efficiency.
- Participate in the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and programs to enhance the financial effectiveness and operational efficiency of assigned functions
- Provide consultation to Company personnel and others concerning vehicle maintenance, repair, and procurement operations, projects, and activities; respond to inquiries, resolve issues and conflicts and provide detailed and technical information regarding related laws, codes, regulations, policies, and procedures
- Direct and participate in the preparation and maintenance of a variety of narrative and statistical reports, records, and files related to vehicles, maintenance, repairs, projects, mileage, depreciation, financial activity, and assigned duties
- Develop and prepare the annual preliminary budget for vehicle maintenance, repair, operation, servicing, and procurement functions; analyze and review budgetary and financial data; control and authorize expenditures in accordance with established limitations
- Communicate with administrators, personnel, and outside organizations to coordinate activities and programs, resolve issues and conflicts, and exchange information

Required Experience:

- Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in business administration, Mechanical Engineering/Automotive, Technical automotive education or related field. (Job-related experience may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.)
- In addition, ten years of increasingly responsible journey-level experience in the maintenance and repair of gasoline and diesel-fueled vehicles including work with
- valid driver's license is required
- Fluent in Microsoft programs
- Fluent in English written and spoken
- Ability to work under pressure

Overview

We are looking for a Fleet & Office Services Manager to manage company fleet, assets and office services across all locations. You’ll handle purchasing, deliveries, supplier coordination, and ensure smooth office operations. The role also includes implementing procedures, supporting sourcing, and preparing reports.


Responsibilities

  • Overall maintenance of all facilities with a focus on staff accommodation.

  • Ensuring facilities comply with the facilities policy and all applicable laws, regulations and standards.

  • Forecasting any additional equipment requirements.

  • Coordinating with the KONE finance team to ensure all bills related to the facility (lease, utilities, etc.) are paid in a timely manner.

  • Informing employees living in a facility about the rules and safety precautions.

  • Managing the Accommodation Officers.

  • Overseeing the full lifecycle of the company car fleet (allocation, maintenance, usage, tracking, insurance, compliance) and coordinating vendors to ensure operational efficiency and cost control.

  • Invoice reconciliation and cost booking/allocation each month.

  • Optimizing facilities (offices, warehouses, accommodation) and timely renewal of leases.

  • Office supplies, equipment and inventory management within the facilities budget.

  • Liaising with functional or operational managers to ensure that office administration guidelines, procedures, tools and systems meet business needs.

  • Selecting and managing ongoing relationships with external suppliers (e.g., cleaning or maintenance contractors or equipment vendors) to ensure satisfactory service standards.

  • Managing travel arrangements and bookings within the unit.

  • Raise purchase requisitions (PRs) and monitor goods receipts (GR).


Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in business administration.

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in a similar role.

  • Excellent Arabic and English language skills.

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Excellent negotiation skills and ability to take initiative.

  • IT skills (Microsoft Office, SAP or any ERP).

Job Role:

We are seeking a professional Senior Manager – Fleet Planning responsible for evaluating aircraft types, providing insights and reports during the aircraft selection process. The role also involves assessing the economic aspects of new route options.

The Senior Manager – Fleet Planning will contribute expertise to improve route profitability and achieve commercial objectives, including developing and implementing fleet strategies aligned with the company's vision.

General Activities:
  • Evaluate, plan, and determine the airline's short- and long-term fleet requirements.
  • Conduct detailed studies of candidate aircraft covering technical, performance, economic, and financial analyses, providing recommendations.
  • Manage aircraft phase-in and phase-out, leasing, purchasing, and selling activities.
  • Collaborate with manufacturers, owners, financiers, and third parties on negotiations and documentation for aircraft transactions.
  • Assess new aircraft types for strategic fleet development, including interior layouts, specifications, performance, network deployment, weight, payload, and economics.
  • Audit aircraft specifications prior to delivery and liaise with manufacturers on design and configuration details.
  • Implement the Fleet Development Plan and support aircraft financing and phase-out strategies for proactive fleet management.
  • Evaluate network and product strategies, such as redeployment, fleet mix, and interior options, suggesting operational improvements for efficiency and revenue maximization.
  • Review route network performance, identify profitability issues, and recommend improvements, engaging with commercial stakeholders as needed.
  • Research the competitive landscape, including network and product offerings, and provide insights for management. Utilize industry contacts for enhanced research quality.
Requirements:

Professional Experience:

Minimum of 10 years in Fleet Planning or a related field.

Academic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a relevant field; a Master's degree is a plus.
