The job holder is responsible to the FMAS Manager through the FMAS Team Leader for the following:

  • The Development of the Scenario Planning Toolset (Witness/IMS Long Range Planner) to maximise fleet readiness. Informing and influencing key Strategic and Tactical Fleet Plans.
  • Fleet scenario planning, cognisant of the SSS Phase 3 commercial and business responsibilities, thus ensuring that all fleet plans and decisions are made with a thorough understanding of any potential impact on the Phase 3 KPIs and deliverables.
  • Plans carried out, delivered in accordance with the RSAF Force priorities and integrated through the RSAF Command Structure, the Integrated Logistics Operations Centre (ILOC) and the RSAF and PC maintenance organisations.
  • Monitor and where required provide fleet direction to other on base Salam Phase 3 functions with regards to Capability insertion programme status, CWP capacity and availability, aircraft input standard, input & output dates and schedules.
  • Influencing the in-Kingdom end of the Salam Embodiment Steering Board (SESB), ensuring that all plans for future capability and performance fixes are made cognisant of any potential impact to the Salam Phase 3 KPIs.
  • Coaching, training, mentoring and knowledge transfer to BAES and RSAF personnel under his direction or control.
  • Development of the KSA / UK meeting and communications structure to ensure a level of integration exists between all Fleet Management and contract stakeholders.
Job Accountabilities
  • Build, maintain and validate Typhoon Fleet Scenario Models and proving planning advice for the RSAF Fleet. Strategic Planning – What If strategy modelling and subsequent advice to the Typhoon Support Centre Commander and RSAF Fleet Management Team.
  • Tactical decisions that ensure the requirements of multiple business functions are delivered whilst supporting the operational need of the customer without detriment to the reputation of the service.
  • Enhance and augment the Capability of the current Fleet Management Organisation by; developing and deploying fleet management policy underpinned by repeatable processes and procedures, developing and deploying modelling capability using the Witness Toolset and developing and deploying strategic and tactical planning capability using the Mxi LRP Toolset; Preparation of the daily fleet status report and stakeholder briefing pack for the daily stand-up meeting.
  • Provide inputs for any formal reports as required by key stakeholders from RSAF, BAESSA or BAES.
Recruitment Specification
  • Have extensive proven aircraft maintenance experience supported by formal recorded workplace applied related training OR extensive proven experience in a relevant (CA or maintenance-related) role.
  • Have extensive proven experience in a relevant management role.
  • Able to describe or demonstrate a Familiar level of knowledge of Continuing Airworthiness, the aircraft types managed and the aircraft maintenance environment.
  • Have a Practitioner level of skills in Technical Instructions and aircraft modifications, fleet planning, and Reliability Programme and Aircraft Maintenance Programme management.
  • Leadership skills and proven ability to supervise all levels of personnel.
  • Extensive supervisory experience in a high tempo operational environment in a Fleet Management or Maintenance position with knowledge of the Typhoon platform from a design or maintenance position.
  • Previous working experience of fleet planning, capability & upgrade programmes or the test & evaluation environment and requirements of continuing airworthiness management
  • Thoroughly competent with all elements of Microsoft Office and other IT toolsets to aid the planning of all capability insertion activities and the preparation of all associated reports & briefings.
  • Experience in Witness and LRP.
  • A recognised qualification to NVQ3/ONC/OND/BTEC level in a relevant technical discipline, or a technical apprenticeship, or suitable equivalent technical qualification acceptable to MCA. Or Part 66 licensed (current or lapsed), or suitable equivalent technical license acceptable to MCA.
  • The successful candidate, Saudi or Expatriate must obtain Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) membership at the appropriate level, prior to starting the new role or commencing employment in KSA. SCE membership must be maintained throughout their employment in this role.

**JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES**
- Coordinate industry MDAL inputs from across LOA 1 & LOA 8 in order to create capability insertion plans cognisant of the business needs and customer requirements.
- Develop a long-range Strategic Capability Insertion plan that integrates with the strategic fleet plan incorporating; future capability, capability enhancements, performance fixes, STO’s and Waivers.
- Formulate a ‘best plan’ for Capability, Availability and Cost, ensuring that insertion plans remain cognisant of the SSS Phase (X) KPIs, reducing risk where possible.
- Quantify and report where the strategic capability insertion plans’ could impact Salam contractual deliverables.

- Provide inputs for any formal reports as required by key stakeholders from RSAF, BAESSA or BAES.
- Provide proactive support and direction for on base RSAF stakeholders to ensure that all Capability Plans and programme changes as well as operational requirements are planned and accomplished effectively.
- Provide fleet direction to the other on base Salam Phase (X) stakeholders with regards to i.e. flying rates, Operator adherence, Scheduled and Corrective Maintenance, SMU, Depth Shops and Logistics.
- Acting as a key on base interface between the PC and the RSAF Fleet Management planners for capability programmes.
- Responsible for preparing fleet capability status reports and briefings to key senior stakeholders with regards to Availability, Capability, SMU Capacity & Performance, Future planning and RSAF Force Priorities.
- Assist in the development and implementation of the Witness and Integrated Maintenance System Long Range Planning (IMS LRP) toolsets.
- Support/facilitate and attend all Fleet Management meetings as required
- Carry out team leader duties in absence of the FMAS Team Leader.
- Model and develop ad hoc insertion scenarios to optimise aircraft down time and ensure opportunities are not missed.
- Ensuring that all personnel engaged in activities in their Area of Responsibility follow the correct practices and observe safety precautions thereby complying with the requirements and limitations detailed in the Salam Support Safety Case Report and that as far as is reasonably practicable ensuring that no one is exposed to any unnecessary or uncontrolled risk***

**RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION**

**_ Essential_**
- Extensive experience in a military/industry partnered aerospace company within an availability-contracting environment.
- Extensive supervisory experience in a high tempo operational environment in a Fleet Management or Maintenance position with knowledge of the Typhoon platform from a design or maintenance position.
- Previous working experience of fleet planning, capability & upgrade programmes or the test & evaluation environment and requirements of continuing airworthiness management
- Thoroughly competent with all elements of Microsoft Office and other IT toolsets to aid the planning of all capability insertion activities and the preparation of all associated reports & briefings.*

**Fleet Management Advisory Service (FMAS) Critical Asset Planner**

**JOB PURPOSE**

BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons.

BAE Systems Saudi Arabia is committed to supporting the Saudi Arabian National Agenda including Saudisation and the training and development of Saudi National capability through the growth of the Saudi National Partner Companies thereby reinforcing Industrialisation and Partnerships.

The role is responsible to the Fleet Management Advisory Service (FMAS) Team Leader through the FMAS Scenario Modeller for the following:

- Development of the PC Critical Asset Planning Tool.
- Development of ad hoc ‘What If’ asset management scenarios in order to provide advice to the PC Logistics Inventory Optimisation Supply team, PC Stakeholders and RSAF Fleet Management on all matters regarding assets on the Typhoon platform.
- Plans carried out and delivered in accordance with the RSAF Force priorities and integrated through the RSAF Command Structure, the Integrated Logistics Operations Centre (ILOC) and the RSAF and PC maintenance organisations***

**JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES**
- Planning, managing and reporting of Major Critical Assets including, but not exclusively, Engines, Damocles LRP and Pylons
- Monitor and report recommendations that could impact Salam contractual deliverables
- Continual analysis of asset data in order to identify areas for future improvement in planning, tasking optimisation and maintenance efficiency
- Provide proactive support and direction for on base RSAF stakeholders to ensure that all scheduled maintenance requirements, maintenance programme changes and operational requirements are planned and accomplished effectively.
- Provide fleet direction to the other on base Salam stakeholders with regards to asset usage rates, Operator adherence, Scheduled and Corrective Maintenance.
- Provide inputs for any formal reports as required by key stakeholders from RSAF, BAE Systems SA or BAE Systems
- Enhance and augment the Capability of the current Fleet Management Organisation by developing and deploying fleet management policy underpinned by repeatable processes and procedures, developing and deploying modelling capability using the Witness Toolset and developing and deploying strategic and tactical planning capability using the Mxi LRP Toolset***

**RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION**

**_ Essential_**
- Ex-military with experience serving on an operational military flying unit or civilian experience with an industry partner in a fast jet role.
- Experience in a high-tempo operational environment in a Fleet, Maintenance or Supply Role.
- Broad Project Management experience**_ _**

**_Desirable_**
- Typhoon experience highly desirable
- Thorough understanding of BAE Systems processes and procedures
- An understanding of RAF and /or RSAF engineering operating procedures_._***
