Information Technology Manager is responsible for planning and directing the internal IT architecture and infrastructure of the company through the provision of the required application systems, tools and infrastructure technologies, in order to enable smooth operations and ensure maximum integration of available IT resources to meet business requirements and ultimately achieve organizational goals.
- Ensure effective translation of the organizational strategy into IT operational business plans and monitor the performance of execution in order to achieve objectives.
- Develop and execute the department long-term strategic plan in alignment with the corporate strategies.
- Contribute to the development of annual business plans for the assigned areas of responsibility to support the achievement of financial and strategic objectives.
Operational
- Ensure proper implementation of the Information Technology policies and framework by managing the day-to-day operations of the Information Technology Department providing guidance, encouraging teamwork and facilitating delivery of work processes in order to achieve high performance standards.
- Prepare financial plans and budget for Information Technology Department and monitor actual expenditure against the approved budget so that the business is aware of anticipated costs/revenue and unsatisfactory performance areas are identified and rectified promptly.
- Identify potential integration needs with the IT systems / applications / databases of external stakeholders (e.g. developers, etc.) to ensure effective flow of information.
- Ensure that applications’ development, provisioning and maintenance of appropriate technologies is aligned and consistent to business requirements and strategies.
- Evaluate the necessity and viability of IT projects related to infrastructure and operations and develop a prioritized project list based on the implementation feasibility and organization’s priorities.
- Follow IT project methodology and framework including development of detailed project scope and user requirements, resources needed, outsourcing strategy, cost schedule, risk management plan, testing plan etc., to ensure projects are executed within the quality time and approved costs.
- Overview the ERP development processes, to ensure that overall architecture and systems integration of the respective systems acquired by company are properly aligned with the needs in order to strengthen and improve the overall IT infrastructure.
- Lead the overall performance of IT operations systems in order to recommend continuous improvement and meet changing needs of the IT department.
- Provide assistance across the organization and support peers when needed to perform their duties.
- Perform other activities as and when required by the Management.
People & Talent
- Manage the performance management process by setting annual objectives, and developing staff through mentoring, coaching and constructive feedback.
- Prepare and recommend the department’s budget in alignment to the respective annual business plan.
- Monitor the department’s financial performance against the approved budget, identify areas of unsatisfactory performance (if any), and recommend mitigating actions.
Organization Structure
- Contribute in defining an optimum structure for the department, to ensure smooth workflow of operational processes and optimal utilization of resources.
Change Management
- Identify and manage implementation of change initiatives on systems, processes and practices considering ‘international leading practices’, and/or other changes in the business environment.
- Manage the development and implementation of departmental policies, systems, processes and procedures to ensure operational excellence.
- Recommend improvements to departmental procedures, and ensure implementation of policies, procedures, systems and controls covering the assigned areas of responsibility and all activities meet UDC’s standards, compliance, and regulatory requirements, align to business requirements, and increase operational efficiency.
Management Reporting
- Monitor, control and report key performance indicators related to the department to track performance and recommend corrective actions.
General Accountabilities
- Provide assistance across the organization and support peers when needed to perform their duties.
- Perform other activities as and when required by the board, the CEO, or other relevant stakeholders.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Sciences, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Master's degree is preferred.
- 8+ years’ experience in a similar role.
- Demonstrated proficiency in oral and written English and Arabic.
