Carter Murray is partnering with a leading energy entity in Saudi Arabia to appoint a Generation Consultant (Incident Investigation & Fault Analysis).
This is a senior-level strategic role focused on enhancing power generation reliability, investigating system faults, and optimizing asset performance. The successful candidate will lead high-impact engineering and operational initiatives, provide expert guidance on incident investigations, and contribute to long-term planning, risk management, and sustainability efforts.
Key Responsibilities
Planning & Design
- Lead the development of strategic and tactical solutions for complex power generation challenges.
- Advise on corporate fuel policy, infrastructure design, and long-term investment planning.
- Provide expert input on design reviews, start-up testing, inspections, and condition assessments.
- Develop and revise technical standards, specifications, and operational guidelines.
- Support the formulation of business strategy and translate it into actionable plans.
- Apply advanced modelling, forecasting, and risk-based decision-making tools.
Operations & Maintenance
- Consult on the efficient and reliable operation of generation facilities.
- Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses to improve system resilience.
- Provide technical guidance across core domains and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
- Address load demand challenges and support outage planning and recovery strategies.
Performance & Excellence
- Drive performance improvement initiatives and ensure alignment with international standards.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders to optimize fuel supply and service quality.
- Promote sustainability by exploring alternative energy sources such as solar and wind.
- Support corporate social responsibility (CSR) and carbon footprint reduction efforts.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering (master's preferred).
- 15+ years of experience in power generation, incident investigation, and fault analysis.
- Proven expertise in risk management, maintenance strategy, and lifecycle asset planning.
- Strong understanding of ISO Asset Management) and ISO Risk Management).
- Experience in dynamic modelling, system balancing, and long-term planning.

Minimum 5 years experience in Transformer Design department of any Transformer manufacturing company. Work experience of Transformers as per IEC & ANSI standards. Work experience of Foil Winding, CTC conductors, Disc Winding, hermetically sealed, conservator type Transformers & On Load Tap Changer.
Knowledge in FoxPro, DesDT, iTRACs, or any other Transformer Design Software and MS Windows. Knowledge of full Transformer calculations (SC, Loading, Cooling, Impulse, etc.)

The
Electrical Engineer MV/LV/AV Power Gen
is required to help in defining the Power generation strategy and its implementation following the industry best practices.
He/she
- Support the client in the development of power strategy for the project.
- Manage the performance of service providers and coordinate with various power vendors.
- Support and maintain the power systems within the project.
- Develop the operation solution and follow up on preventive maintenance.
- Manage the performance of service providers.
- Develop the scope of power systems vendors and manage the implementation.
- Coordinate with client internal departments and stakeholders.
- Develop detailed reports and feasibility studies for power operations.
- Development of Power process and procedures in line with client operational requirements.
- Ensure compliance with local authorities' requirements.
- Provide sound technical solutions and recommendations to meet department operational activities.
- Follow set procedures to replace /or place appropriate service calls to have equipment repaired assist in projects and work efforts as assigned.
- Informs themselves of the relevant Quality, Environmental, Safety and Occupational Health Policies, Manuals and Procedures in place within Parsons, and ensures continued compliance with these requirements while employed by Parsons
- Perform other duties as assigned by the line manager/supervisor.
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge And Skills
- Bachelor degree in electrical or electronics engineering.
- A minimum of 5 years' experience.
- Excellent knowledge about power generation systems, CCTV, access controls, etc.
- Experience working on the client-side will be an advantage.
- Excellent communication skills and reports preparation.
