Job DescriptionTo manage the patients' specimens for whom he/she is responsible to the highest attainable standard of care within the resources of Dallah Hospital.
To perform analytical tests on patient specimens.
To record and maintain specimen and test results log book.
Responsible for running internal/external quality control procedures and maintaining records.
Responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the analytical equipment used and their documentation.
Preparation of reagents as required.
Urgent/Abnormal results to be brought to the attention of a relevant laboratory consultant/specialist and communicated to the requesting doctor. Out of hours results are to be released by the technologist with a copy submitted to the appropriate laboratory consultant for verification.
Daily statistics and necessary documents in the section.
As per the direction of the Head of Laboratory, he/she may perform duties in Histopathology such as processing, embedding, cutting, and staining of slides, preparing and staining frozen sections/cytology specimens, performing special stains and immunocytochemistry, maintaining stocks of reagents, managing chemical inventory, and ensuring all documentation is updated.
Perform proficiency testing and competency assessments.
Implement policies and procedures to achieve the hospital's standards of care, quality, and performance improvement.
Perform any other duties within his/her professional knowledge and skills as directed by the Head of Department.
Requirements- 1-2 years post B.Sc. Medical Laboratory Technology experience.
- Minimum of four (4) years experience post Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology.

Accountabilities
- Receive blood and body fluid samples at lab reception and initiate pre-analytical processing.
- Conduct daily equipment checks to ensure safety and proper functioning.

- Conduct daily quality control tests on reagents.
- Analyze blood cells through counting and identification using microscopy.

- Notify medical staff of critical test results.
