Responsibilities:
- Actively participate in the Journey to Zero safety program and promote a strong safety culture.
- Ensure adherence to mining legislation, company site standards and procedure in all aspects.
- Design, plan, and supervise underground grade control drilling programs.
- Accurately log underground grade control drill holes, documenting lithologies, structures, alterations, and mineralisation.
- Ensure proper sampling methods for cores, QAQC protocols, and sample dispatch for the site laboratory analysis or commercial lab in the region.
- Ensure that all various drilling grade control/exploration data sets are documented (digital and hardcopy form).
- Monitor drilling activities progress according to key contract terms.
- Provide guidance with regards to drilling conditions, drill planning and availability of areas.
- Generate and update geological plans, cross sections of the orebody based on GC drilling data.
- Carry out geological review to increase knowledge of the deposit relevant to ore extraction and new opportunities.
- Provide timely geological information to mining and planning team related to critical change on ore/waste, lithology or major structure that can affect operations.
- Assist senior mine geologist in preparation of grade control reports and daily updates.
- Collaborate closely with drilling crews, engineers, and geologists to optimise grade control and integrate geological insights into the mine plan.
Qualification Requirements:
- Diploma degree in geological sciences or equivalent
Experience and Skills Requirements:
- Minimum of 0 - 2 years of experience in mine geology or exploration.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in VMS type deposits and/or orogenic gold deposits is an advantage.
- Proficiency in MS Office, Database (MS-SQL and Access) and familiar with 3D geological software applications.
- Understanding of different types of exploration and grade control drilling.
- Basic understanding of underground mining operations.
- Good written and verbal communication skills (English and Arabic), with ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Works effectively with geologists, contractors, and operations teams to support safe and efficient mining activities.
- Clearly presents geological findings to technical and non-technical teams. Maintains open communication on field conditions and safety.
- Maintains confidentiality and professional integrity.
