Position Summary :

The Family Medicine Physician plays a vital role in delivering comprehensive, patient-centered care within home healthcare settings, with a key focus on chronic disease management, continuity of care, and optimizing treatment adherence. This position also supports pharmaceutical Patient Support Programs (PSPs), ensuring clinical oversight, safety monitoring, and improved therapeutic outcomes for enrolled patients.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Clinical Care in Home Healthcare :

Conduct home visits to assess, diagnose, and treat acute and chronic conditions.

  • Develop and manage personalized care plans in coordination with home healthcare teams (nursing, physiotherapy, nutrition, etc.).
  • Monitor patient progress, ensure medication compliance, and adjust treatment as needed.
  • Provide palliative and end-of-life care where appropriate.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on disease management and preventive care.
  • Patient Support Program (PSP) Involvement :
  • Provide clinical oversight and medical consultation for patients enrolled in pharmaceutical-sponsored PSPs.

  • Qualifications :

  • Medical Degree (MD / MBBS) with certification in Family Medicine.
  • Valid medical license to practice in Saudi Arabia.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of clinical experience, preferably including home healthcare and / or PSPs.
  • Strong knowledge of chronic disease management, geriatrics, palliative care, and pharmacotherapy.

    Job Description

    • To manage the care of new and follow up patients at Riyadh Hospital from consultation through to completion of treatment.
    • To maintain accurate and clear medical records.
    • To ensure consistent medical treatment of patients by working in accordance with agreed protocols and achieve medical continuity of care for the Patients.
    • To provide advice to clinical, scientific and administration staff.
    • To facilitate own training under the direction of the Medical Director, in accordance with General Medical Board requirements, best practice, and Riyadh Hospital Policies & Procedures and protocols.
    • To take responsibility for CME and documentation of activity in support of revalidation.
    • To comply with current laws, regulations, and accreditation standards such as MOH, SCFHS, SFDA, CBAHI, JCI, etc.
    • To assure the credentials, privileges, and competencies of the subordinates.

    Qualification & Experience Requirements:

    • Saudi Board Certified or equivalent is required;
    • Experience in the same field after the credential is highly preferred and it depends on the SCFHS regulations. For subspecialties, the physician should have been fulfilled the required training.
    • Current Registration in the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties, as a Senior Registrar, is highly preferred.
    • BLS, ACLS, PALS, ATLS, NRP, ALSO certification depending on the specialty is highly required.

    Skills and Competencies:

    • Profound knowledge of the relevant laws and regulation in Saudi Arabia.
    • Commitment to the ethical code of the profession and the medical field.
    • Good communication and people management skills.
    • Leadership skills and emotional/ social intelligence.

    Job Description

    Family Medicine Senior Registrar will provide comprehensive primary healthcare physically and through telemedicine to individuals and families of all ages, encompassing preventive, acute, and chronic care. Will play a crucial role in diagnosing and treating a wide range of medical conditions, promoting health education and preventive measures, and coordinating care with specialists and other healthcare professionals. Additionally, will be responsible for practicing population health management and value-based care, focusing on improving patient outcomes through efficient and effective healthcare delivery through specific care programs and clinical pathways, with an emphasis on delivering patient-centered care and optimizing health outcomes.

    Responsibilities
    • Conduct comprehensive telehealth consultations and in-person consultations via thorough patient history and physical examinations with patients experiencing Family Medicine and general medicine complaints
    • Provide healthcare to all family medicine target population across age and gender
    • Provide chronic diseases and preventive care consultations and follow up to patients as per clinical guidelines
    • Utilize video conferencing platforms to assess patient symptoms, review medical history, and perform virtual examinations. Develop personalized treatment plans, prescribe medications, and provide ongoing patient education
    • Deliver high-quality medical consultations to patients
    • Utilize telehealth platforms for virtual appointments and conduct in-person assessments as needed
    • Develop and implement personalized treatment plans, including medication management, referrals to specialists, and lifestyle modifications
    • Oversee ongoing care for chronic and acute conditions
    • Adjust treatment plans as necessary based on patient feedback and clinical outcomes
    • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including primary care physicians, specialists, and nurses, to ensure seamless patient care
    • Practice population health management by identifying and addressing health issues at the community level, implementing preventive measures, and promoting health education and awareness
    • Document findings and treatment plans meticulously in patient records
    • Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing clear and concise explanations of diagnoses, treatment options, and follow-up care

    • Maintain proficiency in utilizing the designated telehealth platform, including video conferencing, secure messaging, and electronic health records (EHR) integration. Actively participate in training programs and stay updated on platform enhancements and best practices. Collaborate with IT support to troubleshoot any technical issues
    • Maintain compliance with all patient safety standards and ensure patient safety across all clinical interactions
    • Report any patient safety risks or issues to the appropriate staff in quality department
    • Practice safe medicine to ensure no patient harm
    • Explain medications possible side effects and proper use
    • Maintain satisfactory patient consultations through communication, taking complete history, providing empathy and understanding of patients conditions and circumstances, explanation of diagnosis and proposed management plan and answering patient queries

    Qualifications
    • Residency training in Family Medicine from an accredited program
    • Board certification in Family Medicine
    • Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) classification and registration as a Family Medicine Senior Registrar
    • Proven experience as a Family Medicine Senior Registrar or similar role, preferably in a primary care setting
    • Experience in practicing population health management and value-based care approaches
    • Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) and telemedicine platforms
    • Strong clinical judgment and analytical skills
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish effective relationships with patients and colleagues
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
    • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying abreast of the latest advancements in family medicine, population health management, and value-based care
