As a Senior Production Engineer you will be responsible for Lucy Switchgear Arabia's production engineering Activities, which includes CNC programming, implementation of the new technologies for process improvement, cost reduction & lean manufacturing. Supporting production in the new product introduction and current product improvements / trails & implementing automation solutions (Robotic & Non-Robotic). You will develop, establish, maintain, improve, and create new Production Process across the organization.
Job Dimensions
- Coordinate all Production Engineering Activities in Lucy Saudi Arabia aligned with Global Operations Team.
- Ensure that all HSE, Quality, Inventory, On Time Delivery, and Productivity Requirements are being followed by the whole value chain.
Key Accountabilities
The position is responsible to:
Laser/Punch/Bending/Robot Programming:
- Manage the team of programmers to meet the Laser & Bending Programming target of LSA in line with the production plan.
- Programming improvement on a continuous scale to achieve higher nesting efficiency as per budgeted target.
- Guide programmers to improve Laser Efficiency by implementing new technologies.
Production Engineering Activities:
Fulfil below requirements as per LSA Production requirements:
- Jigs, Fixtures and Templates.
- Factory Layout.
- Std Time.
- Punching/Bending Tools.
- Special tools & Equipment's.
New Product Introduction
- Provide support to production for new product introduction.
- Provide support to Production/QA on process flow charts, facility requirements, tool requirement, jigs & fixtures requirement, equipment for new processes, layout during NPI.
- Capex calculation for requirements related to NPI.
- Generation of work instruction for the new product.
Process Improvements / Automations / Innovations:
- Robotics.
- Non robotics.
- New technologies.
- New Machines for better process.
Current Product Improvements
- Analysis & Problem solving.
- 8D & other Methodology.
- Design improvements feedback to Engineering.
- Trialling & implementing proposed improvements.
- Creating work environment to meet quality standards set by ISO 9001/14001.
- BOM validation and error reporting to Contracts for corrective actions (ECR/ECN process).
- Build Work Instructions.
Lean Management
- Eliminate Waste Activities.
- Coordinate and Monitor the CI Activities for optimizing process flow and implementing Lean Tools.
- Total cycle time (throughput time) reduction.
System Management (D365) & Management Reporting:
- Ensure to submit/ Circulate all management reports on time.
- D365 activities related to the Department (Route etc).
- Manage raw material (sheet Steel) requirements as per program released through transfer orders process in coordination with Stores & Production.
Training
- Conduct Training to workers on Product and other technical aspects of product.
Health & Safety
- Facilitate safe working environment for people and implement H&S guidelines and regulations.
General
- Undertake any other duties and responsibilities as required / instructed to maintain and / or improve the efficiency, quality and service provided by the company.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures and maintain confidentiality of information relating to the company's business and staff.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical / electrical / industrial engineering.
- Minimum 5 years' experience on relevant skills as detailed above.
- Knowledge in ISO standards and Health, Safety standards.
- Experience in development Production Layouts.
- Green or Black Belt Lean Six sigma certified.
- Experience in assembly plants in a reputed organization, preferably switchgear industry will be added as advantage.
- 3D Design software Knowledge (Inventor/ Solid works/ Catia/ Unigraphics/ etc).
- Experience in development of Jigs, Fixtures, and Templates.
- Should be well versed in understanding engineering drawings.
- Incorporating better material handling solutions.
- Experience in electrical switchgear products and knowledge.
- CNC Programming Knowledge.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform regular maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrades of PLC-based electrical control systems to ensure continuous and efficient operation of production lines.
- Develop and optimize PLC programs based on production process requirements to improve automation and operational efficiency.
- Respond promptly to PLC-related issues on the production floor, perform root cause analysis, and resolve faults to minimize downtime.
- Participate in the commissioning of new equipment or system upgrades, ensuring PLC systems function according to design specifications.
What You Should Have
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Automation, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Over 3 years of PLC programming experience, familiar with full-cycle development (from configuration to debugging) for at least two of the following brands: Siemens, Mitsubishi, or Panasonic.
- Proficiency in PLC programming languages (Ladder Diagram/LD, Structured Text/ST, Function Block Diagram/FBD, etc.).
- Knowledge in industrial communication protocols (Modbus, Profinet, EtherCAT, etc.) and fieldbus technologies.
