Sustaining Engineering is a business critical team that continuously improves various open source software by resolving software defects reported by customers. Software stack includes everything from the kernel all the way up to the user space applications and IaaS platforms. This position leads one of our regional teams and is one of several managers, who report directly to the global Director of Sustaining Engineering.
Our customers build large-scale mission critical infrastructure and application solutions on Ubuntu and open source from Canonical. While not actively developing products, Sustaining Engineering, as part of Support Engineering, solves problems for the customer and for the benefit of the wider Open Source community. This team is well staffed with experts in every time zone and, while the work can be challenging sometimes, the team is resourced to ensure a good work-life balance and ongoing development of each team member.
As an engineering manager in the Sustaining Engineering team, your primary responsibility is to the people you support: ensuring that they are growing as engineers, making valuable contributions, and generally having a great experience at Canonical. Technical leadership and a solid background in software development are a must, so that you are able to help your team members grow professionally. The role entails
- Manage and lead a distributed team of engineers
- Hire, coach, mentor, provide feedback and career development guidance to your team
- Manage & measure key performance indicators (KPIs), and training
- Support timely delivery of bug fixes, patches, and other technical solutions to address business needs in a variety of technology fields, including but not limited to Ubuntu, OpenStack, Ceph, Kubernetes, Juju & MAAS
- Demonstrate the very best of Canonical in customer interactions
- Set and manage expectations with other engineering teams, senior management, and external stakeholders
- Advocate and advance modern software development practices
- Grow a healthy, collaborative engineering culture in line with the company value

Description
Lead and manage the engineering team, including maintenance, facility services, and utilities.
Oversee daily operations to ensure equipment reliability and uninterrupted manufacturing.
Plan and execute capital investment (CAPEX) projects and lead cross-functional engineering initiatives.
Drive continuous improvement strategies to enhance operational efficiency and reduce downtime.
Collaborate closely with production, quality, and HSE teams to ensure regulatory compliance and site performance.
Supervise and hold contractors accountable for service quality and safety standards.
Support the development of team capabilities and foster a culture of ownership and technical excellence.
Profile
Background in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, preferably with pharmaceutical manufacturing experience.
Proven leadership skills managing and motivating multi-disciplinary teams.
Strong technical knowledge across diverse manufacturing equipment.
Hands-on approach to troubleshooting and problem-solving.
Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
Ability to confidently challenge contractors and ensure high service standards.
Excellent people management skills, fostering collaboration and accountability.

GENERAL ROLE :
As Engineering Manager at Miraval The Red Sea, your main role is assisting and supporting the Director of Engineering in managing the engineering department. Takes responsibility in overseeing the repair and preventative maintenance of all M&E services through the involvement of all subordinates.
The Engineering Manager must also possess a service-oriented mindset with competent technical skill and knowledge and with a committed attitude towards the hotel operation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
Please note that the responsibilities outlined below are not exhaustive. Miraval The Red Sea colleagues continuously innovate in caring for the needs of the business, their guests, and their colleagues. As Engineering Manager you will need to:
- To assist the Director of Engineering in the day-to-day engineering operations.
- To supervise and delegate duties to all engineering staff.
- To ensure the engineer’s store is well stock and managed.
- To plan, schedule and co-ordinate building, M&E works.
- To liase with outside contractors and all maintenance contracts.
- To maintain interior and exterior of the building, furniture, fixtures, etc
- To submit reports that are required for the day-to-day engineering operational needs.
- To prepare duty / leave roster for engineering staff.
- To supervise and ensure correct enforcement of meal and break periods for staff in accordance with the hotel’s regulation.
- To update all M&E services drawing and proper management of these drawings.
- To develop and implement preventive maintenance and repair schedules for all M&E system / equipment.
- To develop and implement cost reduction, work simplification methods and techniques and improvement programmes.
- Direct involvement with control and supervise over contractors working in the hotel.
- Liaise with contractors, architects, consultants and other professionals on hotel projects.
- Attend weekly engineering meetings with Director of Engineering.
- Conduct briefing and engineering procedures to trainees on cross-exposure training.
- Conduct daily briefing with all engineering staff.
- Prepare monthly report for utilities consumption and energy consumption.
- Implement, deliver and monitor engineering core standards.
- Carry out routine hotel walkabout inspection – kitchen, public area, rooms, etc.
- Conduct regular fire alarm testing and ensure fire fighting and protection system in the hotel is well maintain and working at all times.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Diploma or Degree in electrical, mechanical, or HVAC engineering from a locally recognized Institute.
- Reading, writing and oral proficiency in English language.
- Must be service oriented and be able to maintain Hyatt standard of hospitality at all times
- Must be able and willing to perform extra hours when required.
- Must have 2-3 experience as an Engineering Manager/ Chief Engineer in the hotel industry.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS (IF ANY)
- Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.
- Frequent bending, stooping, and reaching required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Work indoors and outdoors in varying conditions.
- Exposure to live electricity, noise, dust, and other physical hazards.

Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Reporting Engineer to join our team! In this role you will get to support in the tracking, updating, monitoring, and reporting on project control functions on a major Roads PMO program.
What You'll Be Doing:
Collate reporting data from disparate systems and sources, understanding that data and presenting it in a clear and easily accessible manner.
Own and update report templates as required and manage the configuration of documents, in line with any changes to the reporting framework and reporting cycle that may be made from time to time.
Support the ongoing improvement of reporting within the Project Controls Function and wider Program, identifying opportunities for process and systems improvements.
Produce regular management reports to support the Program Director & Deputy and Program Controls Manager.
Undertake quality review of regular management reports, including status reports submitted to the Program Controls Function, and liaising with reporting resources in projects to provide feedback and improve quality.
Support the development of the Monthly Dashboard Report and the population by the Project teams.
Ensure that the Baseline Scope Book is aligned to project, budget and schedule.
Coordinates and produces program level reporting.
Coordinates with the Procurement Manager to develop an accurate procurement status report for each period, as well as other disciplines.
Assist in the production of Earned Value performance data sets for roll up to program level.
Provide such additional support for the Program Controls Manager as may from time to time be required.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 10 years experience.
Proficient user of IT systems (Power BI, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, internet, MS Access, etc.)
Ability to extract and collate data from different sources and systems.
Experience of use of project management reporting applications.
Experience in the production of project and / or Program reporting.
Time management, organization and prioritization skills and able to be organized in prioritizing, planning and agreeing activities.
Good communication skills.
