Field Engineer (ICT, Airport) - Saudi National
to join our team and support the installation, testing, and commissioning of ICT infrastructure systems within the King Salman International Airport (KSIA) airfield project.
The ideal candidate will have 8 years experience and demonstrate hands-on experience with airport-related ICT systems, including communication networks, data infrastructure, and security systems, ensuring seamless integration and operational readiness.
What You'll Be Doing
- Supervise and support the installation of ICT systems such as fiber optic networks, data cabling, CCTV, access control, PA systems, and network hardware.
- Coordinate field activities with subcontractors and vendors to ensure compliance with design specifications and project requirements.
- Assist in the testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of ICT systems, ensuring functionality, reliability, and integration with other airport systems.
- Prepare test plans, execute system verification procedures, and document results.
- Serve as the technical point of contact on-site for ICT-related queries and issues.
- Coordinate with design engineers, QA/QC teams, and contractors to resolve technical challenges and ensure quality standards.
- Support integration activities with BMS, SCADA, and airport operational systems.
- Maintain accurate records of installation progress, test results, and issue logs.

Project Overview:Bechtel has been involved over the last 80 years in some of the world's busiest and most complex airport projects, including Greenfield and Brownfield developments. In the GCC, we have held significant roles on King Khalid, King Fahad, Dubai, Hamad, and Muscat international airports. As we consider the future of aviation globally and in the GCC, we are very enthusiastic about the future of aviation in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
We are currently considering candidates with aviation, other transportation or complex public accessible building project experience to provide project management consultancy services (including technical, commercial and construction management) for a major infrastructure project in Riyadh.
Job Summary:In this role, the Area 2 Field Engineer Civil will be reporting to the Lead Field Engineer. You will be managing a team of Field Engineers and provide field engineering leadership for work planning and packaging, material management, quantity validation, safety and quality control, technical inspection and testing knowledge, and coordination of system turnover and subcontracts. Your oversight will ensure field engineering activities operate safely, are complete, and conform to quality standards and project requirements. You should have aviation experience and good knowledge of regulatory requirements for handing over buildings and associated facilities.
Major Responsibilities:Responsible for discipline based technical oversight and compliance of contractors, ensuring works are carried out as per the drawings, specifications and standards, as per schedule and ensures compliance to ES&H plans, quality standards and local/national regulatory safety codes
Responsible for coordinating across disciplines and with Engineering to provide timely and accurate information for the Construction teams
Monitor performance within the discipline of the installation contractors, project status, schedule, cost control, change management systems. From time to time, will need to work across disciplines
Lead site based technical coordination with contractors, engineers, client, and other stakeholders
Leads input to ensure continuous construction work fronts availability through review of look ahead schedules, commodity charts, resource charts, engineering deliverables, material delivery schedules and any other service requirements including contractor submittals
Ensures required permits and licenses are in place prior to the start of the specific work at site. Verifies compliance with Permit and License requirements and stipulations
Responsible for a team of Field Engineers who will be reviewing and approving the contractor's submittals, technical queries, Field change documents and other technical documents including Drawings and As-Builts
Ensure all materials and equipment on the site fully comply with international standard and technical specification requirements
Ensure the closure of project is systematic and complete in all respects
Maintains an effective relationship with other functional departments and coordinates all jobsite contractual activities
Provide guidance and technical advice to the Construction Engineers, contractors and monitor their performance
Coordinates and monitors interfaces with other contractors, lead the review meetings
- Grade 27: Requires Civil bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience
Aviation experience with airside and landside operations knowledge.
Handing over building and associated facilities from inspection to handover for occupancy.
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal relationship skills at varying levels of the organization.
Ability to work effectively under pressure with changing priorities and deadlines
Demonstrated ability to effectively influence outcomes and escalate issues appropriately.
Must be a self-starter and highly motivated to succeed.
Demonstrated skill in identifying, analyzing and solving problems.
Previous, related, working experience in the middle-east is highly preferred.
