Principal Accountabilities
- Completing preventative, predictive, and reactive industrial electrical work throughout the facility
- Documenting all completed work and the conditions found, utilizing maintenance computer software as necessary
- Installing, maintaining, testing, evaluating, and repairing various electrical components and systems including low voltage automation systems, medium voltage motor control circuits, and high voltage (<15kV) power distribution systems
- Comprehending mechanical/electrical schematics, blueprints, and/or operation manuals

Required Qualifications

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Electrical Technician Level 3 is a senior technician responsible for leading diagnostics, repairs, and installations on industrial plant electrical systems and fleet vehicles. This role operates independently, mentors junior staff, and ensures critical electrical systems are reliable, compliant, and safe. The Level 3 Electrician may serve as the technical lead or point of contact during maintenance projects and emergency repairs.
Key responsibilities
- Performs installation and maintenance of electrical equipment such as diesel-driven dewatering pumps, air compressors, and diesel generators.
- Performs routine electrical servicing, general equipment maintenance, and basic fault-finding on equipment like Diesel Generators, Air Compressors, 3-phase motors, and Electrical Distribution panels.
- Maintains batteries, lighting systems, alternators, and electrical starters on fleet equipment.
- Leads troubleshooting, testing, and repair of complex electrical systems in plant and mobile equipment including motors, drives, PLCs, lighting, and control circuits.
- Configures and maintains Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), Motor Control Centers (MCCs), and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
- Performs LV isolation and LV commissioning following Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
- Responds to emergency maintenance calls during or after shifts, including on-call rotations if applicable.
- Reads and interprets technical drawings and manuals.
