Principal Accountabilities

• Completing preventative, predictive, and reactive industrial electrical work throughout the facility
• Documenting all completed work and the conditions found, utilizing maintenance computer software as necessary
• Installing, maintaining, testing, evaluating, and repairing various electrical components and systems including low voltage automation systems, medium voltage motor control circuits, and high voltage (<15kV) power distribution systems
• Comprehending mechanical/electrical schematics, blueprints, and/or operation manuals
• Understanding and adhering to all safety policies and procedures
• Maintaining a safe and clean work environment
• Ability to repair equipment in close proximity to explosives

Required Qualifications

• Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
• Must be 18 years or older
• Ability to understand and communicate in English (verbal/written)
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting up to 50lbs., kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting, with or without reasonable accommodation
• Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above)
• Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc., with the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Qualifications

• Experience with SAP or a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
• Certified Maintenance Reliability Technician (CMRT) or willing to acquire certification
• Heavy equipment/industrial maintenance technical diploma from a trade school, or 3 years equivalent experience
• Predictive Maintenance and/or Precision Maintenance Certifications
• Experience with high voltage (<15kV) power distribution systems
• High school diploma/GED or two-year equivalent work experience

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Electrical Technician Level 3 is a senior technician responsible for leading diagnostics, repairs, and installations on industrial plant electrical systems and fleet vehicles. This role operates independently, mentors junior staff, and ensures critical electrical systems are reliable, compliant, and safe. The Level 3 Electrician may serve as the technical lead or point of contact during maintenance projects and emergency repairs.

Key responsibilities

1. Performs installation and maintenance of electrical equipment such as diesel-driven dewatering pumps, air compressors, and diesel generators.
2. Performs routine electrical servicing, general equipment maintenance, and basic fault-finding on equipment like Diesel Generators, Air Compressors, 3-phase motors, and Electrical Distribution panels.
3. Maintains batteries, lighting systems, alternators, and electrical starters on fleet equipment.
4. Leads troubleshooting, testing, and repair of complex electrical systems in plant and mobile equipment including motors, drives, PLCs, lighting, and control circuits.
5. Configures and maintains Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), Motor Control Centers (MCCs), and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
6. Performs LV isolation and LV commissioning following Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
7. Responds to emergency maintenance calls during or after shifts, including on-call rotations if applicable.
8. Reads and interprets technical drawings and manuals.
9. Maintains detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
10. Ensures safe working practices are followed at all times, in accordance with Health and Safety legislation.

Qualification requirements

Education:

• Qualified Electrician with relevant electrical certification.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in industrial and fleet electrical systems.
• Associate’s degree or technical diploma in Electrical Technology or related field.
• Ability to read simple electrical schematics and follow instructions.
• Advanced knowledge of AC/DC circuits, VFDs, motor controls, sensors, and PLCs.
• Basic computer skills for logging maintenance reports.
• Proficient in electrical testing and diagnostic tools such as multimeters, clamp meters, meggers, and oscilloscopes.

Experience:

• Hands-on experience with electrical systems, tools, and troubleshooting techniques.
