Job Purpose

The Zakat & Tax Consultant will be responsible for preparing and reviewing zakat and tax returns, managing tax and zakat compliance, and ensuring adherence to all applicable regulations and standards. The role also involves supporting internal audits, coordinating with external auditors, and advising on tax-related risks and opportunities to ensure full compliance with Saudi tax laws.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review zakat and tax returns and related financial documentation.
  • Conduct tax risk analysis and provide recommendations for compliance improvements.
  • Review and verify financial statements and supporting documents used in tax examinations.
  • Participate in the preparation of zakat and tax calculations and reconciliations.
  • Review financial transactions and records to ensure compliance with relevant tax and zakat regulations.
  • Liaise with Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) and assist in responding to inquiries and audits.
  • Support in preparing financial documentation for zakat and tax audits and defend company positions before authorities.
  • Monitor local and international tax developments and assess their impact on the company.
  • Manage and maintain tax files and records, both in hard copy and electronic formats.
  • Provide guidance to the finance team on zakat and tax-related matters.
  • Ensure timely filing and payment of zakat and tax obligations in accordance with Saudi laws.
  • Assist in developing internal policies and controls related to zakat and tax compliance.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional certification such as SOCPA or CertIFR is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in zakat and tax consultancy, preferably in a similar industry.
  • Strong knowledge of Saudi zakat and tax laws and regulations .
  • Previous experience dealing with ZATCA is essential.
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in both Arabic and English .
Preferred Candidate
  • Experience in coordinating with the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) .
  • Excellent understanding of both zakat and tax examination procedures.

**Your key responsibilities**

You will be participating in the successful delivery of international tax engagements and assisting managers or above with identifying and pursuing new business opportunities. You will contribute to building and maintaining client relationships by delivering exceptional client service and collaborate with a team of International Tax professionals across the MENA region and globally to combine diverse cross-border experience with local tax knowledge across a broad spectrum of industries.

You will work as part of a multi-jurisdictional / disciplinary team within tax and across other service lines (including working with colleagues from Transfer Pricing, Transaction Tax, Indirect Tax, People Advisory Services etc.) in terms of pursuing, and delivering engagements and assist in managing engagement economics by suggesting engagement budget, tracking fees and communicating issues to project managers.

You will be building internal relationships within international tax team and across other service lines and coaching more junior staff through delegation and on the job training whilst taking ownership of continuous technical knowledge development through on the job learning and self-development.

**Ideally, you’ll also have**

Our GCR tax service line operates as a team of highly experienced tax professionals who focus on delivering efficient and effective resources to companies in the region.

As part of a MENA team, you will be providing high quality services to internal and external stakeholders with their payroll needs. The Opportunity

Our GCR tax service line operates as a team of highly experienced tax professionals who focus on delivering efficient and effective resources to companies in the region. As part of a MENA team, you will be providing high quality services to internal and external stakeholders with their payroll needs. You will look after payroll service delivery, coordination, issue resolution, and other related specifications concerning GOSI and Mudad as per EY teams in the region.

Your Key Responsibilities

You will work hand in hand with our tax and accounting professionals to help deliver our clients’ compliance needs. You will also establish, maintain and strengthen internal and external relationships with clients to help ensure that the services delivered are of the highest standards and are done on time.

You will be responsible for the Hire to retire process, day-to-day execution of employee requirements such as GOSI enrolment, payroll operations around GOSI and act as a super user for Mudad and Qiwa to enable our clients meet the desired requirements and specifications. Partake in the necessary standardized processes, anticipate and identify risks, elevate issues as appropriate with the concerned parties/authorities and follow performance-improvement solutions.

Skills and Attributes for Success

Excellent communicator, detail-oriented professional comfortable working across borders with a wide network of people and large amount of data.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree with strong academic credentials in Human Resources and Accounting.
  • MBA in Human Resources.
  • Strong knowledge and minimum 5+ years of experience in Rewards, Payroll operations and hands‑on experience working on GOSI, Mudad and/or other related ERP systems, ideally within a large professional services company or similar environment.
Ideal Additional Experience
  • Experience of dealing with multinational clients and ability to work in multi‑cultural environment.
  • Excellent analytical, management and leadership skills.
  • Effective organization and time management skills with ability to work under pressure and adhere to project deadlines.
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment.
