We are seeking a seasoned Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer - VDI with deep expertise in VMware / Omnissa Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environments. The ideal candidate will play a key role in managing, supporting, and optimizing virtualized desktop infrastructure including VMware Horizon, App Volumes, Dynamic Environment Manager (DEM), and related components. This role involves overseeing production and DR environments, ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance of the VDI platform, and contributing to strategic initiatives and project implementations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the deployment, configuration, upgrade, and management of VMware / Omnissa VDI environments including Horizon, App Volumes, DEM, Thin/Zero Clients, and Unified Access Gateway (UAG)
- Manage and maintain VMware vSphere environments including vCenter, ESXi, vROPS, and software-defined storage solutions
- Plan and implement networking and storage configurations relevant to vSphere and Horizon environments
- Support platform lifecycle tasks including vCenter/ESXi upgrades, Horizon upgrades, and hardware/firmware management on Dell MX7000
- Monitor VDI performance and availability using vROPS and perform regular health checks
- Manage disaster recovery strategies and execution for production and non-production environments
- Provide operational support, incident response, and troubleshooting across the VDI infrastructure
- Collaborate on new VDI projects from design through implementation
- Document high-level and low-level designs, as-built configurations, runbooks, and SOPs
- Maintain security best practices including access control, resource governance, and microsegmentation (NSX experience is a plus)
- Administer thin and zero client infrastructure and ensure firmware and patch compliance
- Interface with Workspace ONE MDM for endpoint integration

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Experience:
- Preferred banking experience
- 8+ years of experience in private cloud infrastructure engineering or similar roles
- Proven track record of managing large-scale private cloud environments
- Technical Expertise:
- Strong expertise in VMware / Omnissa Horizon for VDI deployment, configuration, and management
- Advanced experience with App Volumes for application layering and delivery in a VDI environment
- In-depth knowledge of Dynamic Environment Manager (DEM) for user profile and environment customization
- Good working experience with vSphere components (ESXi and vCenter) for infrastructure hosting and management
- Basic understanding of Workspace ONE MDM for device management and UAG integration
- Hands-on experience managing Thin and Zero Clients, including patching and maintenance

The Infrastructure Specialist designs, installs, configures, tests, monitors, supports, and troubleshoots Local and Wide Area Networks. Administers and manages Cisco routers, switches, ASA appliances, and F5 load balancers. Performs router/switch network hardware/software upgrades. Provides IP Addressing Strategy - NAT, Re-Addressing. Performs WAN - IP Routed Network Integration. Prepares work orders containing instructions to be used by technicians to configure network hardware and software. Performs diagnostic analysis of the network system, identifies possible faulty devices, troubleshoots faulty modules, troubleshoots network problems and outages, and prepares necessary documentation detailing actions taken. Works with customer technical teams to provide solutions for customers' internetworking communications requirements.
