We are seeking a Business Development Expert to join our Downstream Origination Department.

Downstream Growth and Development (DG&D) implements the Company’s downstream growth strategy through the development of profitable investment opportunities, mergers & acquisitions (M&A) and joint venture partnerships in the areas of integrated refining and petrochemicals, marketing, retail, lubricants and other areas of the downstream business. Downstream Origination Department (DOD) identifies, evaluates, screens, reviews and recommends global business development opportunities in line with the downstream strategy and in coordination with other Admin areas within the Downstream business.

You will be responsible for screening and origination of potential investment opportunities in the areas of refining, petrochemicals, trading, retail business, logistics, storage and lubricants segments as well as executing approved transactions including initiation and management of due diligence, valuation, structuring and negotiations of proposed deals.

Key Responsibilities

As the successful candidate you will be required to perform the following:

  • Screen complex business proposals using pre-defined filtering criteria, and researches relevant intelligence to back up screening results to estimate effort and resources required for pursuing pre-feasibility/Concept Paper development of qualified proposals.
  • Support negotiation of agreements based on developed strategy, manage business portfolio, screen potential investors and Perform other miscellaneous duties as directed.
  • Provide functional expertise to design the capabilities required by the new venture to succeed, e.g. product development, sales and marketing, logistics, customer care.
  • Write Concept Papers that establish a strategic and business case to further develop complex business ventures and synthesize complex information from feasibility studies that serve as inputs to business plans and deliver a business plan.
  • Support pre-feasibility and feasibility studies to establish technical, financial and marketing viability of new ventures and estimate effort and resources required for conducting feasibility studies and business planning of approved Concepts.
  • Formulate economic/financial models for complex business proposals and present results of Concept Paper and/or business plans to management as directed by the Supervisor.
  • Evaluate business opportunities including valuation techniques and methodologies, defining scope of due diligence required and coordinating due diligence activities; presenting results of valuation and due diligence activities, supports development of business offerings packages to potential investors, coordinates development of commercial agreements and Reviews legal documents.

Minimum Requirements

As the successful candidate you will have:

  • Bachelor of Arts Business and Management or Bachelor of Science Engineering.
  • MBA is .
  • You will have a Minimum of 9 Years of Experience in mergers and acquisitions, business development, transaction execution, and project financing.
  • Transaction execution and leading negotiations of definitive documents experience is .
  • Downstream industry experience (Refining, Petrochemicals, Retail, Lubricants), noting that products trading experience may not be considered relevant for the role is .
  • Project Financing experience is .
  • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Management Accountant (CMA) or Certified Financial Analyst (CFA) are .
  • You will have an industry expertise of knowledge of specific venturing activities such as commercialization, spin-offs or joint venturing, project development, financial valuations and modeling, facilities planning, strategy development or relevant experience.
  • You will also have an adequate understanding of financial analysis of companies and valuation methodologies; commercial principals of a transaction; different types of transactions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Screen complex proposals using predefined criteria, researching relevant intelligence to support screening and estimate resources needed for pre-feasibility and concept development.
  • Support negotiations, manage business portfolios, screen potential investors, and perform other duties as assigned.
  • Provide expertise to design key capabilities for new ventures, such as product development, sales, marketing, logistics, and customer service.
  • Draft Concept Papers to establish strategic and business cases for complex ventures, synthesizing feasibility study data into comprehensive business plans.
  • Assist in pre-feasibility and feasibility studies to evaluate technical, financial, and marketing viability, estimating effort and resources required.
  • Develop financial models for complex proposals and present findings to management.
  • Evaluate business opportunities, perform valuation techniques, coordinate due diligence, and support the development of commercial agreements and legal reviews.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, or Engineering; an MBA is preferred.
  • Minimum of 9 years in M&A, business development, transaction execution, and project financing.
  • Experience in transaction execution and negotiation of definitive documents.
  • Industry experience in downstream sectors (refining, petrochemicals, retail, lubricants); trading experience is not considered relevant.
  • Experience in project financing.
  • Certifications such as PMP, CMA, or CFA are advantageous.
  • Knowledge in venturing activities, financial analysis, valuation methodologies, and transaction principles.

We are seeking a Business Development Lead to join our Downstream Transaction Development Department.

Downstream Growth and Development (DG&D) implements the Company's downstream growth strategy through the development of profitable investment opportunities, mergers & acquisitions (M&A) and joint venture partnerships in the areas of integrated refining and petrochemicals, marketing, retail, lubricants and other areas of the downstream business. Downstream Transaction Development Department (DTDD) executes approved transactions within the downstream business by managing a comprehensive due diligence process, identifying synergies, mitigating risks, deal structuring and conducting negotiations.

You will be responsible for executing approved transactions including initiation and management of due diligence, valuation, structuring and negotiations of proposed deals, as well as engaging and working constructively with internal corporate stakeholders, external advisors and prospective partners during transaction development and post-transaction setup & readiness phases.

Key Responsibilities

As the successful candidate you will be required to perform the following:

  1. Manage the execution of approved investments and lead different due diligence workstreams, valuation, deal structuring and negotiation.
  2. Collaborate with internal stakeholders, external advisors and prospective partners to ensure smooth execution of the transaction.
  3. Provide regular updates on transaction status, progress and challenges to management.
  4. Support the setup and operational readiness phases following the transaction's completion.
  5. Participate in creating the commercial, financial and technical framework for the deal.
  6. Lead evaluation of business opportunities including valuation techniques and methodologies.
  7. Define scope of due diligence required and coordinating due diligence activities; presenting results of valuation and due diligence activities and leads development of commercial agreements.
Minimum Requirements
  1. As the successful candidate you must hold a Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical preferable, or other disciplines), Business, Finance or Economics from a recognized and approved program. MBA or a relevant advanced degree is strongly preferred.
  2. Professional Certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Financial Analyst (CFA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA) are preferred.
  3. You must have a minimum of 9 years of professional experience in downstream business development, with a strong track record of technical, economic and commercial experience in downstream business such as refining, petrochemicals, marketing (wholesale & retail), lubricant, logistics and storage with a deep understanding of associated operations, optimization and value-chain integration.
  4. Experience in executing term sheets and definitive agreements typical in downstream transactions, along with management of post-transaction integrations, setup and readiness.
  5. An adequate understanding of financial analysis of companies and valuation methodologies; commercial principles of a transaction; different types of transactions.
  6. Demonstrate a leadership role in lead transaction execution and negotiations of definitive documents experience.
