About the Role:
To support this initiative, we are looking for a
Windows Server Administrator
with solid knowledge and experience with
Sharepoint
environments, who can contribute to the
stability, security, and efficiency
of our systems.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Sharepoint and Windows Server Administrator, you will be responsible for ensuring the proper operation and maintenance of the Sharepoint and Windows Server environment with over 350 servers. Your main tasks will include:
- Architect & Administer SharePoint: Manage and maintain our enterprise-level SharePoint environment (SharePoint Online and/or SharePoint 2016/2019). This includes site collection architecture, permissions and governance, search configuration, and ensuring high availability.
- Master the Windows Server Ecosystem: Deploy, manage, and harden a large fleet of Windows Servers (2016/2019/2022). Your expertise will be critical in managing Active Directory, Group Policy (GPO), DNS, DHCP, and File Services across a complex, multi-site domain.
- Drive Automation: Proactively identify opportunities to automate routine tasks and deployments. You will leverage PowerShell scripting to improve efficiency, reduce human error, and streamline operations.
- Ensure System Resiliency: Design, implement, and manage robust backup, disaster recovery, and high-availability solutions for all managed platforms using tools like Veeam or native Microsoft technologies.
- Secure Our Foundation: Implement and maintain security best practices, perform regular system patching and vulnerability remediation, and respond to security alerts in collaboration with our cybersecurity team.
- Collaborate and Solve: Act as escalation point for technical issues. You will work closely with application owners, the network team, and the helpdesk to deliver seamless IT services to the organization.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 3 years of demonstrated, hands-on experience administering SharePoint and Windows Server environments within a large organization (500+ servers and/or 1000+ users).
- Deep technical expertise in SharePoint administration (On-Premises and/or SharePoint Online), including infrastructure management, security configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Expert-level knowledge of Windows Server OS (2016/2019/2022) and core infrastructure services, particularly Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS), GPO, DNS, and DHCP.
- Proven proficiency in PowerShell scripting for system administration and automation.
- Hands-on experience with virtualization platforms, primarily VMware vSphere or Microsoft Hyper-V.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, VLANs, Firewalls) as they relate to server infrastructure.
- A problem-solver's mindset with exceptional analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with migrations from on-premises SharePoint/file shares to SharePoint Online and OneDrive.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and Azure cloud services (Azure AD, Entra ID, Azure IaaS).
- Microsoft Certifications (e.g., MCSA, MCSE, or modern role-based certifications like AZ-800/801).
- Experience with enterprise backup solutions (e.g., Veeam, Commvault).
- Knowledge of SQL Server administration in the context of supporting SharePoint.
