Key job responsibilities
Amazon Web Services is looking for a highly motivated Solutions Architect to help accelerate our growing Higher Education business as part of the World Wide Public Sector practice. As a Solutions Architect within AWS, you will have the opportunity to help shape and deliver on a strategy to build broad use of Amazon's utility computing web services (e.g., AWS EC2, AWS S3, AWS RDS, and AWS CloudFront) directly with customers and our ecosystem of system integrators and solution providers. Your broad responsibilities will include: owning the technical engagement and ultimate success around specific implementation projects; defining implementation architectures, responding to RFPs, developing a deep expertise in the AWS technologies as well as broad know-how around how applications and services are constructed using the AWS platform; and being a subject matter expert on security as it relates to customer applications and services.

Responsible for driving sales growth and creating tailored cloud managed services solutions for enterprise customers. This role combines deep technical expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) with strong business acumen to deliver value-based solutions aligned with client objectives.
Roles And Responsibilities
Daily tasks and delivery expectation
- Own the full sales lifecycle for cloud managed services, from qualification to closure.
- Engage with CxO-level stakeholders to understand business requirements and propose appropriate cloud Services solutions.
- Design managed service offerings for IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, cloud cost optimization, DRaaS, monitoring, and governance.
- Build tailored proposals, TCO/ROI models, and contractual structures for multi-year cloud outsourcing deals.
- Collaborate with delivery, architecture, Application and security teams to ensure solution feasibility and compliance.
- Drive commercial strategy, Operational and pricing models, and SLA/XLA definition.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with hyperscale’s (Azure, AWS, GCP), ISVs, and OEM partners.

Design managed service offerings for IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, cloud cost optimization, DRaaS, monitoring, and governance.
Build tailored proposals, TCO/ROI models, and contractual structures for multi-year cloud outsourcing deals.
Collaborate with delivery, architecture, Application and security teams to ensure solution feasibility and compliance.
Drive commercial strategy, Operational and pricing models, and SLA/XLA definition.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with hyperscale’s (Azure, AWS, GCP), ISVs, and OEM partners.
Respond to RFPs, RFIs, and lead cloud transformation workshops with clients.
Track and achieve quarterly/annual sales targets in alignment with the cloud GTM strategy.
Stay updated on emerging cloud trends and competitive landscape to refine offerings.
Expected Skills:
Specific learned abilities or technical skills
Strong knowledge of cloud architectures (IaaS/PaaS/SaaS), migration strategies, FinOps, AIOPs, and DevOps.
Certifications on Azure/AWS/Google Certified Practitioner.
Proven success in structuring and closing complex cloud managed service contracts.
