Overview

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Engineer to join our Global Manufacturing Excellence organization to work under the Decarbonization and Sustainability Division to render environmental protection and performance aspects.

Your primary role as an Environmental Engineer is to provide expert guidance and support in greenhouse gas (GHG) management activities, including data collection, analysis to identify GHG reduction opportunities, advising to improve GHG emission performance, conducting waste and emission minimization assessments, incorporating circular economy models, setting KPIs such as flaring, SO2 emission, and hydrocarbon discharge to marine, and applying environmental regulations and standards such as ISO-14001 Environmental Management System. Strong management and coordination skills are necessary to lead and work with environmental teams in operating facilities under Global Manufacturing Excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor facility operating and business plan objectives to ensure consistency with environmental protection policy and applicable environmental policies, guidelines, and standards.
  • Conduct full potential environmental assessments and provide recommendations.
  • Develop, review and implement a Greenhouse Gas management program including GHG data collection, analysis and reporting.
  • Conduct internal GHG assurance audits and support preparation of facilities GHG third-party audits.
  • Monitor air quality, wastewater and water conservation, waste management performance.
  • Establish environmental KPIs aligned with company policies and strategies.
  • Develop, review and deploy facilities environmental management system in alignment with ISO 14001.
  • Develop and maintain environmental procedures and guidelines.
  • Conduct internal environmental performance benchmarking studies among oil and gas refineries.
  • Stay abreast of international and regional regulations concerning emissions, waste management, water and wastewater, GHG to ensure compliance.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including field engineers, executives, and regulatory bodies, to align with industry needs.
  • Analyze complex data sets related to emissions, equipment efficiency, and other parameters to derive actionable insights.
  • Organize technical exchange workshops among oil and gas refineries.
  • Develop and deliver training material to promote environmental awareness among refinery personnel.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Environmental Engineering
  • 17 years of experience in oil and gas refineries
  • Knowledge of the oil & gas refining industry and its environmental challenges and risks
  • Knowledge of global/governmental environmental policies, regulations and standards
  • Qualified Environmental Professional (QEP) certified (preferred)
  • Expert in technical sustainability data, calculation methodology and limitations
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills in environmental engineering
  • Familiarity with ISO-14001 Environmental Management System
  • Familiarity with decarbonization roadmaps, GHG emission baselines and target setting
  • Excellent computer and presentation skills
  • Strong management and coordination skills
  • Good command of English, verbal and written

We are seeking an Environmental Engineer to join Western Area Pipelines Department. The Western Area Pipelines Department is responsible for transporting crude, gas, NGL, and product across several customers in the west side of Saudi Arabia.

Your primary role is to manage, organize and participate in major surveys such as Environmental Performance Assessment, Occupational Health Hazard Assessments, Comprehensive Environmental Health Assessment, Robotic Process Automations, and Environmental Health surveys, and actively seek to resolve any findings from these surveys across the department.

Key Responsibilities

As the successful candidate, you will be required to perform the following:

  1. Keeps up-to-date of all environmental issues that pertain to the organization, particularly any non-compliances that may have been identified.
  2. Stays current with all applicable environmental regulations, standards, procedures, and guidelines as well as all Saudi Aramco environmental programs.
  3. Responsible for resolving any items raised by Environmental Protection Department by creating an action plan, allocating relevant personnel to address required processes as well as setting deadlines for recommendations and updates on our Environmental Health System.
  4. Actively inspects, maintains records, reports, and conducts routine inspections of Department facilities for compliance per the Hazardous Waste Code, as well as coordinates and communicates their efforts and findings to EPD.
  5. Provide corrective actions for any incompliance item and follow up with the related parties until full implementation is achieved.
  6. Promotes sound waste management by Company employees and cooperates with EPD on the conduct of routine scheduled and unscheduled inspections of their facilities and waste storage areas.
  7. Works to detect and correct improper environmental conditions and waste management violations.
  8. Provides needed support to implement and maintain a departmental Hazard Material Communication Program.
  9. Facilitates periodic internal audits to ensure all elements of the Corporate HAZCOM Program requirements have been met.
  10. Provide classroom HAZCOM training for new employees.
  11. Coordinates all Facility Environmental Management System related activities within the organization as appropriate, including the development of environmental objectives and indicators, tracking of performance and costs.
  12. Review department Environmental projects proposal at various stages, provide comments for any environmental issues that will be affected by the project.
Minimum Requirements
  • As the successful candidate, you must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental or Chemical Engineering from a recognized and approved program. An advanced degree is preferred.
  • You will have 8 years of experience in environmental engineering including at least 5 in the Oil and Hydrocarbon Industry.
  • Certification in Advanced Environmental field is preferred.
