Role Summary

Build and lead the
venture capital investing arm
: define the investment thesis, originate and evaluate deals, execute transactions, and drive portfolio value creation.

This role will focus on sourcing, evaluating, and managing high-potential investments in startups and early-growth companies, while ensuring alignment with the company's strategic sectors and vision. The Business Lead will also play a critical role in portfolio value creation, ecosystem development, and positioning the company as a leading innovation investor in the Kingdom.

Investment Mandate

What You'll Do

1.   Strategy & Investment Thesis:
Define and iterate sector theses, portfolio construction (stage mix, check sizes, reserves, target ownership).

  • Define and execute the company's venture capital investment strategy, in line with corporate objectives and Vision 2030.
  • Identify priority sectors and investment themes (e.g., healthcare innovation, biotech, edtech, sustainability, and digital technologies).
  • Continuously refine the investment thesis based on market dynamics and portfolio learnings.

2.   Deal Sourcing & Pipeline Management

  • Build and manage a strong pipeline of investment opportunities through relationships with accelerators, incubators, universities, founders, and other VC/PE firms.
  • Represent the company at startup events, industry forums, and investment conferences to strengthen visibility and access.

3.   Diligence & Execution

  • Lead commercial, financial, and technical due diligence processes.
  • Prepare and present investment recommendations and business cases to the Investment Committee and Board.
  • Negotiate term sheets, shareholder agreements, and other deal documentation in collaboration with legal and finance teams.

4.   Portfolio Management & Value Creation

  • Act as a strategic partner to portfolio companies, supporting them with growth strategies, market access, and operational improvements.
  • Monitor performance, governance, and risk exposure of portfolio companies.
  • Recommend follow-on investments, restructuring, or exit strategies when appropriate.

5.   Ecosystem & Strategic Partnerships

  • Build relationships with universities, research centers, government agencies, and industry leaders to foster innovation pipelines.
  • Collaborate with other investment arms of the company (real estate, healthcare, technology) to identify and pursue potential collaborations.
  • Position the company as a preferred partner for founders and co-investors in Saudi Arabia and beyond.

6.   Reporting & Governance

  • Provide regular reports on pipeline, portfolio performance, and sector insights to senior management and the Board.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies, regulatory requirements, and international best practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in Finance, Business, Economics, or related;
    MBA and/or CFA preferred
  • 8–12 years
    in venture capital, private equity, investment banking, or corporate venture arms with a
    proven record
    of sourcing, closing, and managing equity investments (Portfolio management)
  • Advanced
    financial modeling/valuation skills
  • Demonstrated
    KSA/GCC
    innovation-ecosystem experience and networks
  • Board/observer exposure and fluency with VC legal docs (term sheets, SHA, ROFR/Tag/Drag)
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills
  • Fluency in English; Arabic is an advantage

We are seeking a Capital Markets Financial Analyst to join the Treasury’s Capital Markets & Financing Department of Saudi Aramco.

The Capital Markets & Finance Department is overseeing global debt capital markets to identify opportunities and emerging trends in support of Saudi Aramco’s global financing strategies

Your primary role is to lead many aspects of corporate debt issuances ensuring that the group maintains ready access to financial markets to meet its expansionary requirements and working closely with senior finance management, banks, debt investors and credit rating agencies.

Key Responsibilities

As a successful candidate, you will perform the following:

  • Monitor and report on developed and emerging debt capital markets activities with a focus on energy-related sectors.
  • Assist in the structuring, pricing and negotiation of debt issuances under both conventional and Islamic structures including the renewal of syndicated revolver facilities and bi-lateral credit facilities.
  • Devise hedging strategies to mitigate interest rate risk associated with long-term debt issuances.

  • Assist in the formulation and the implementation of financing strategies, policies and procedures to ensure group-level financial flexibility.

Minimum Requirements

As a successful candidate, you will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Finance, Economics, or Accounting. An MBA is preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a corporate funding role or experience leading a debt capital markets origination/structuring/syndication team.
  • A Financial certification such as a CPA, CMA, CTP, or a CFA is a definite advantage.
  • Extensive experience in in maintaining and developing relationships with banks, investors and rating agencies
  • Extensive experience across debt market products, including vanilla, securitization, hybrid instruments and liability management exercises.
  • Solid understanding of international credit and rates markets dynamics. Excellent communication skills are required to work successfully with internal and external stakeholders
