Job Summary
The Manager - Tunnel Ventilation Systems is responsible for the design management, integration, installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance strategy of tunnel ventilation systems across the metro network and infrastructure. The role ensures compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standards while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality and reliable ventilation solutions.
Responsibilities- Lead the engineering design review and development of tunnel ventilation systems, ensuring alignment with project requirements and international standards (NFPA, ASHRAE, etc.).
- Manage the full lifecycle of tunnel ventilation systems including procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning.
- Coordinate with civil, electrical, and systems engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of ventilation systems with station and tunnel designs.
- Develop and oversee safety protocols for smoke extraction, emergency ventilation, and passenger protection during incidents.
- Establish operational strategies for ventilation performance monitoring, maintenance planning, and energy optimization.
- Review and approve contractor deliverables including design documents, method statements, risk assessments, and quality plans.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities and stakeholders to ensure compliance with health and safety requirements.
- Manage budgets, schedules, and resources to achieve project milestones.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and performance management for the tunnel ventilation team.
- Prepare progress reports, technical evaluations, and recommendations for management decision-making.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline (master's preferred).
- Minimum 8-12 years of experience in design, installation, or management of tunnel ventilation systems within metro, rail, or large infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of fire life safety systems, computational fluid dynamics (CFD) modeling, and ventilation performance analysis.

- Knowledge of weapon system operation & maintenance, including safety management, power modules, Ethernet, control electronics, and missile systems.
- Experience troubleshooting electronic circuits and using diagnostic tools such as oscilloscopes and multi-meters.
- Experience working in complex, multi-cultural environments.
