The Job in a Nutshell

We are looking for a Product Design Manager to lead and elevate its design discipline. This managerial role involves collaborating across departments (Product, Data, Engineering) to define and scale both Product Design and UX writing & research. You'll own the Product Design team's success, improve design processes and quality, and empower the company for innovation and accessibility. By shaping Foodics' design evolution and ensuring brand consistency, you'll contribute to building user-friendly and aesthetically pleasing products that fuel the company's continued growth.

What You Will Do

  1. Partner closely with our Designers, Product Leaders, and Engineering Managers to shape our strategy and roadmap for the Foodics Design discipline.
  2. Foster a cohesive design team culture by mentoring junior product designers, providing growth opportunities, and creating an environment that attracts and retains top talent.
  3. Scope project work (in partnership with PMs, Data, and engineers) and help define the strategy, roadmap, and timelines to implement them.
  4. Act as a coach for the team providing technical guidance, feedback, and the right support to help each member do their best work.
  5. Elevate the team's performance and help Foodics challenge the status quo.
  6. Be a technical reference for the team, seeking to adapt and replicate the best practices in the market, elevating the design standards at Foodics.

  8. Oversee multiple initiatives from insight to strategy, to launch across all platforms and devices.

Job Context
As local support for a wider Contract and Engineering team, the role will entail closely interacting with other design, contract and technical engineers.

You will be creating contract drawings and engineering BOMs for both internal and external customers in KSA and overseas. This may involve developing and trialing new features for our switchgear products as well as the preparation of electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.

Job Description

We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Design Engineer - Architectural to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing architectural designs for various projects, ensuring compliance with local building codes and regulations while delivering innovative and sustainable solutions.

  • Create and modify architectural drawings and specifications using CAD software
  • Collaborate with project teams to develop design concepts and solutions
  • Perform structural calculations and analysis to ensure design integrity
  • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to integrate architectural designs
  • Conduct site visits to assess project requirements and monitor construction progress
  • Ensure compliance with local building codes, regulations, and safety standards
  • Develop and maintain project documentation, including technical reports and presentations
  • Participate in client meetings to present design concepts and address concerns
  • Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and sustainable design practices
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to the overall growth of the department

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, or a related field
  • 15 years of experience in architectural design engineering
  • Proficiency in CAD software, such as AutoCAD and Revit
  • Strong 3D modeling and visualization skills
  • In-depth knowledge of building codes and regulations, particularly in Saudi Arabia
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Experience with sustainable design principles and practices
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Professional licensure (e.g., PE) preferred
  • Familiarity with local building codes and regulations in Saudi Arabia
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as needed
