Responsibilities- Provide transportation planning services for transit, highway, state agencies, cities and counties
- Take responsibility for corridor studies, forecast modeling, traffic analysis, transportation planning, and impact fee development
- Assimilate and manage data
- Collect project-related data as needed, which may include research, interviews with government agencies and clients, map reviews, land use surveys, and socioeconomic analysis
- Prepare constraints mapping
- Prepare required documents such as categorical exclusions, environmental assessments, environmental impact studies and other technical reports
- Assist in preparation for and participate in public information meetings and hearings
- Perform other duties as needed
- Bachelor’s degree in Planning, Engineering or a related field
- A minimum of 10 years' experience with transportation planning
- Possess excellent analytical and communication skills
- Understanding of transit planning principles
- Positive attitude and ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and personnel
- Solid business development skills; demonstrated ability to relate well to clients; and demonstrated presentation skills

What You'll Be Doing:
You must have a good all-round knowledge of the transport planning in the Middle East, preferable the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
It is expected that you will have experience in the preparation of transport plans, transport modelling, Traffic Impact study, feasibility studies, road safety audit studies, transport scheme reports, and transport/traffic appraisal with knowledge of relevant transport/traffic policy and standards.
You should be able to organize and manage the collection of raw transport and traffic data. Analyze and interpret data findings to provide appropriate transport and traffic solutions.
You will be required to have a strong knowledge of the principles of strategic transport planning software (TransCAD) modeling, and prior experience of using a range of transport specific and associated software.
You will support a team of consultants working on a variety of urban planning and industrial planning tasks.
Liaise with the Ministry of Transport and other government agencies as required.
Coordinate with other Departments and Divisions in the implementation of the current and future Master Plan deliverables and initiatives related to Transport (all modes).
Formulate detailed transport planning policy updates and other amendments as part of the required amendments to the Yanbu 2030 Master Plan.
Provide expert transport/traffic advice on development assessment and private sector investment proposals.
Assist in establishing, implementing, monitoring, and enforcing departmental policies, goals, objectives, and procedures
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or relevant field from a recognised Western University.
Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in the field of transport/traffic planning. Middle Eastern experience an advantage.
Post Graduate or Master's Degree in Transport Planning, preferred.
Well-rounded experience in transport/traffic issues associated with Industrial and City planning.
Specific experience with transport/traffic assessment processes and compliance regulation.
Ideally professional experience with the Private Sector but have experience of dealing with Local Authority and Public Sector clients.

**Job Description:**
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented **Principal Planner (Transportation)** to join our team! The position requires the provision of expert transport planning solutions, a thorough knowledge of transport related policy, regulation standards and best practice. Undertake all transport modeling requirements necessary for the Urban Planning Department to undertake the above. This position retains performance responsibility of SAPL personnel working in support of the department activities, ensuring that work of support staff conforms with department needs and standards.
Position reports to the RC Section Manager and the Urban Planning Manager.
**What You'll Be Doing:**
+ You must have a good all-round knowledge of the transport planning in the Middle East, preferable the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
+ It is expected that you will have experience in the preparation of transport plans, transport modelling, Traffic Impact study, feasibility studies, road safety audit studies, transport scheme reports, and transport/traffic appraisal with knowledge of relevant transport/traffic policy and standards.
+ You should be able to organize and manage the collection of raw transport and traffic data. Analyze and interpret data findings to provide appropriate transport and traffic solutions.
+ You will be required to have a strong knowledge of the principles of strategic transport planning software (TransCAD) modeling, and prior experience of using a range of transport specific and associated software.
+ You will support a team of consultants working on a variety of urban planning and industrial planning tasks.
+ Liaise with the Ministry of Transport and other government agencies as required.
+ Coordinate with other Departments and Divisions in the implementation of the current and future Master Plan deliverables and initiatives related to Transport (all modes).
+ Formulate detailed transport planning policy updates and other amendments as part of the required amendments to the Yanbu 2030 Master Plan.
+ Provide expert transport/traffic advice on development assessment and private sector investment proposals.
+ Assist in establishing, implementing, monitoring, and enforcing departmental policies, goals, objectives, and procedures
**What Required Skills You'll Bring:**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or relevant field from a recognised Western University.
