Key Responsibilities
Daily Safety Management
- Conduct daily site inspections to identify unsafe conditions (electrical, fire, chemical, trip/slip/fall hazards).
- Monitor and enforce use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in compliance with NFPA 70E and OSHA standards.
- Check and maintain site grounding systems for electrical safety.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety (EH&S) plans, Emergency Response Plans (ERP), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Hazard Identification & Mitigation
- Perform hazard recognition and hazard hunts on a daily and monthly basis.
- Document and recommend corrective actions to eliminate unsafe conditions.
- Verify fire detection, gas detection, and explosion-prevention systems are operational.
Safety Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare and maintain daily safety inspection reports.
- Draft and update safety procedures for operations, maintenance, and emergency response.
- Document and file Safety Meeting Minutes (daily toolbox talks & monthly safety meetings).
- Maintain records of PPE distribution, inspections, and compliance checks.
Incident Management
- Lead incident reporting and investigations, including root cause analysis.
- Prepare corrective and preventive action (CAPA) reports.
- Report all incidents in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Emergency Preparedness
- Conduct emergency drills (fire, chemical exposure, electrocution scenarios).
- Support emergency shutdown procedures and coordinate with Grid Control Center during critical events.
- Act as liaison with local emergency responders and regulatory authorities.
Training & Culture
- Provide safety induction training for all new site personnel.
- Deliver refresher courses on electrical safety, fire prevention, and hazard awareness.
- Promote a proactive safety culture across all departments.
Required Qualifications
- Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 2 years of safety experience in energy , power plant, or industrial projects.
- Experience with Saudi Electric Company (SEC) projects is considered a plus.
Required Certifications
- NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) or equivalent.
- OSHA 30-Hour General Industry or Construction Safety Certification.
- NFPA 70E Training (Electrical Safety in the Workplace).
- First Aid & CPR Certification.
- Fire Safety / HAZMAT Response Training preferred.
