Job Description
Lead and manage the strategic planning, operation, maintenance and continuous improvement of DACO’s airport mechanical systems, including HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning), water supply, and fire suppression systems. Ensure the reliability, safety, and efficiency of all mechanical systems, while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and optimizing system performance across DACO’s airport infrastructure.
Position Accountability Description
Strategic Leadership:
1. Formulate and execute a comprehensive mechanical systems strategy, ensuring the effective operation maintenance of HVAC, water, and fire systems in alignment with DACO’s operational goals.
2. Drive strategic initiatives for enhancing the efficiency and sustainability of mechanical systems, including the integration of advanced technologies for system monitoring and energy optimization.
3. Define key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the performance and reliability of HVAC, water, and fire systems, driving optimization strategies to improve system effectiveness.
Operational Excellence:
4. Lead the development and implementation of preventive and corrective maintenance processes for mechanical systems, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with safety and operational standards.
5. Direct the monitoring, testing, and maintenance of HVAC, water supply, and fire suppression systems to ensure continuous functionality and safety.
6. Oversee lifecycle cost analyses for mechanical systems, identifying cost-saving opportunities and improving operational efficiency through energy and water use optimization.
7. Lead capacity planning efforts to optimize mechanical system operations, ensuring that the current and future demands of DACO’s airport infrastructure are met efficiently.
8. Oversee the implementation and monitoring of mechanical systems management tools, improving system oversight, energy use, and maintenance scheduling.
9. Conduct regular assessments of DACO’s HVAC, water, and fire systems to ensure alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements, and safety standard.
10. Lead performance improvement initiatives by leveraging data-driven insights and best practices to enhance mechanical system reliability and operational efficiency.
11. Direct the integration of advanced technologies, such as building management systems (BMS), to optimize system performance and enhance energy efficiency across all airport facilities.
Stakeholder Management:
12. Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including the Operations, Facilities, and Finance teams, to align mechanical systems strategies with broader airport operational needs and sustainability goals.
13. Foster relationships with external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, service providers, and contractors, to ensure compliance with industry standards and timely delivery of maintenance services, KPI achievement.
14. Represent DACO in industry forums and conferences to stay informed of emerging trends, new technologies, and best practices in mechanical systems management.
Team Leadership and Development:
15. Lead, monitor , and develop a high-performing team of mechanical systems professionals, fostering a culture of safety, excellence, and continuous improvement.
16. Set clear performance expectations and provide regular feedback to team members, ensuring their alignment with organizational goals and fostering their professional growth.
17. Implement training programs to enhance the technical skills and knowledge of the mechanical systems team, ensuring they are prepared to manage and troubleshoot advanced systems.
18. Develop and manage the mechanical systems budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources for system maintenance, upgrades, and operational needs.
19. Conduct financial analyses of mechanical systems projects, ensuring cost-effectiveness and alignment with DACO’s long-term sustainability and operational goals.
20. Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities through the effective management of energy and water resources, improving the financial performance of DACO’s mechanical systems.
Risk and Compliance Management:
21. Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and industry standards related to HVAC, water supply, and fire suppression systems, minimizing operational risks and ensuring safety.
22. Conduct regular audits and assessments of DACO’s mechanical systems to ensure adherence to safety, operational, and environmental standards.
23. Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to manage potential disruptions to mechanical systems, ensuring readiness in case of system failures or emergencies.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
24. Drive innovation in mechanical systems management by adopting new technologies and best practices that improve operational efficiency, reduce energy consumption, and enhance system reliability.
25. Continuously assess and improve HVAC, water, and fire system processes to ensure alignment with global industry standards and DACO’s operational requirements.
26. Foster a culture of continuous improvement by actively seeking feedback, promoting collaboration, and implementing new ideas for optimizing the management and performance of mechanical systems.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, HVAC Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field.
Experience
Minimum of 12 years of total experience in managing mechanical systems (HVAC, water, and fire systems), with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role overseeing large-scale infrastructure.

**Required Technical and Soft Skills**:
- Certified Lead Auditor with specific qualifications in information security management systems (e.g., ISO 27001) and related standards (e.g., ISO 22301, ISO 2000).
- Additional certifications as a lead auditor for ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 are advantageous.
- Proficiency in the IT sector.
- Excellent English writing and communication skills.
- Strong punctuality and time management abilities.
- Self-motivated with the capacity to inspire others.

Experience in maintaining documentation and auditing for QMS as per ISO 9001:2008 standards. Perform and liaise all activities related to the QMS system at the branch level and coordinate all QMS issues/problems with the Management Representative (MR), as required. Administration, control, and day-to-day maintenance of the documentation of the Quality Management System. Updating and controlling the Quality Manual, Quality Procedures, Forms, etc., in consultation with the Management Representative (MR).
Job SpecificationDiploma or Bachelor's Degree. Good command of English. Good knowledge of quality management systems/ISO 9001:2008 standards. Preference given to candidates with Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor certification.
