Job Description:

Parsons is looking for a skilled and motivated Sustainability / LEED Specialist to support the delivery of a world-class airfield development project. This role focuses on integrating sustainable design and construction practices into all project phases, ensuring LEED certification goals are achieved, and aligning with client and regulatory environmental performance standards.

The ideal candidate will have 8 years of experience in sustainability consulting or engineering, with demonstrated knowledge of LEED, Envision, and other green building frameworks, preferably on large-scale infrastructure or aviation-related projects.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Lead the coordination and implementation of LEED (v4 or later) certification processes, including documentation, tracking, and compliance.
  • Evaluate and integrate sustainable design solutions across all airport systems including buildings, utilities, airside, and landside facilities.
  • Support the development and execution of the project's Sustainability Management Plan (SMP).
  • Collaborate with design, engineering, and construction teams to incorporate energy efficiency, water conservation, waste reduction, and material sustainability strategies.
  • Review sustainability-related design submittals, material data, and construction methods for compliance with project and LEED requirements.
  • Provide technical support for environmental product declarations (EPDs), life cycle assessments (LCAs), and embodied carbon
  • Engage with project stakeholders, including contractors and consultants, to ensure alignment with sustainability objectives.
  • Prepare reports, dashboards, and presentations to communicate progress toward sustainability targets.
  • Facilitate sustainability training sessions and workshops as needed.
  • Ensure alignment with local environmental regulations, international best practices (e.g., LEED, WELL, Envision), and airport authority sustainability policies.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation in sustainable technologies and strategies throughout the design and construction phases.
  • Support environmental audits and third-party certification site reviews.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Architecture, Sustainability, or related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in sustainability, green building consulting, or related field.
  • Proven track record in managing or supporting LEED projects through certification.
  • Deep knowledge of LEED systems (particularly BD+C and ND), USGBC guidelines, and documentation tools.
  • Strong understanding of sustainability performance metrics (energy, water, waste, indoor air quality).
  • Familiar with construction materials, energy modeling, and commissioning processes.
  • Proficient in LEED Online, MS Office, and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau preferred).
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills, with experience working in multidisciplinary environments.
  • LEED AP BD+C or equivalent credential is highly preferred.
  • Experience on airport/transportation infrastructure projects.
  • Knowledge of Envision, WELL, or Estidama rating systems is a plus.
  • Familiarity with BIM, AutoCAD, or environmental modeling software (e.g., IES-VE, OpenLCA).
  • Arabic language proficiency is an advantage.

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Specialist with Refinery Experience to join our Global Manufacturing Excellence organization to work under the Decarbonization and Sustainability Division to work on environmental protection and performance aspects.

Decarbonization and Sustainability Division provides support to Saudi Aramco Global Manufacturing wholly owned and affiliates’ facilities in assessing and advising on the deployment and adoption of decarbonization, energy and environmental programs and initiatives. This includes identifying and analyzing operational challenges and developing engineering solutions to improve energy efficiency and GHG emissions.

Your primary role is to provide expert guidance and support in establishing environmental business plans objectives and emission baselines, developing solutions to environmental problems, conducting environmental performance calculations, daily monitoring and reporting, collecting and analyzing data to observe the GHG reduction opportunities, advising to improve the performance, and identifying deviations and developing solutions to environmental problems. Strong management and coordination skills are necessary to lead and work with environmental teams in operating facilities under the Global Manufacturing Excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor facility operating and business plans objectives are consistent and in-line with Saudi Aramco environmental protection policy and all applicable environmental policies, GIs and standards.
  • Identify deviations and developing solutions to environmental problems to ensure mitigation of facilities environmental risk and improve compliance to company and governmental environmental regulations.
  • Conduct full potential GHG and environmental assessment and provide recommendations.
  • Develop, review and implement Green House Gas management.
  • Conduct internal GHG assessment in preparation for facilities such as refineries, NGL fractionation plants, and petrochemical plants and lube manufacturing plants.
  • Monitor the solids and chemical disposals to guarantee a safe environmental protection in compliance with governmental regulations.
  • Monitor air quality, waste water and water conservation, waste management performance.
  • Develop, review and deployment of facilities environmental management system in alignment with ISO 14001.
  • Develop and maintain Environmental procedures and guidelines.
  • Conduct internal environmental performance benchmarking studies among the oil and gas, refineries.
  • Stay abreast of international and regional regulations concerning emissions, waste management, water and waste water, GHG to ensure alignment with compliance standards.
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders, including field engineers, top-level executives, and regulatory bodies, to ensure alignment with industry needs.
  • Analyze complex data sets related to emissions, equipment efficiency, and other relevant parameters, deriving actionable insights for enhancement.
Minimum Requirements
  • You will hold a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Environmental Engineering
  • You will have at least 17 years of experience in oil and gas refineries, petrochemical. EPI/QEP certified professional are preferred.
  • You will have knowledge of the oil & gas, refining industry and its environmental challenges and risks.
  • You will have knowledge of global / governmental environmental policies, regulations and standards.
  • You will have expertise in technical sustainability data, calculation methodology and limitations.
  • You will have strong analytical and troubleshooting skills in the field of environmental engineering.
  • You will be familiar with ISO-14001 Environmental Management System and Requirement.
  • You will be familiar with development of decarbonization roadmap, GHG emission baseline and target setting.
