Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT Systems Administrator to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of hands-on experience in managing and maintaining a mixed Windows and Linux server environment, both on-premises and in the cloud. You will be responsible for ensuring the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of our information systems that support core organizational functions. This is a critical role that encompasses everything from daily administration and patch management to implementing high availability and disaster recovery solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Server Administration & Management:
- Administer and support Microsoft Windows Server environments, including Active Directory (AD), DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy Objects (GPO).
- Perform basic administration and maintenance of Linux servers.
- Manage and maintain MS Exchange Server for corporate communication.
- Implement and manage virtualization infrastructure.
- Cloud & Infrastructure:
- Deploy, manage, and monitor resources within the Microsoft Azure cloud platform.
- Support a hybrid infrastructure, ensuring seamless integration between on-premises and cloud services.
- Systems Monitoring & Performance:
- Utilize monitoring solutions such as SCOM (System Center Operations Manager) and OpManager to ensure system health, performance, and availability.
- Proactively identify and resolve system issues to minimize downtime.
- Security & Patch Management:
- Manage enterprise-wide patch management using SCCM (System Center Configuration Manager).
- Ensure all systems are compliant with the latest security patches and updates.
- Enforce security policies through AD and GPO.
- Business Continuity:
- Develop, implement, and test Disaster Recovery (DR) and High Availability (HA) strategies to ensure business continuity.
- Manage backups and recovery procedures.
- Support & Collaboration:
- Provide escalated Level 2/3 support for complex technical issues.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, procedures, and services.
- Collaborate with other IT team members on projects and initiatives.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: 5+ years of professional experience as a Systems Administrator in a multi-server environment.
- Windows Server: Expert knowledge in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Windows Server OS. Deep understanding of core services like Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
- Linux Server: Solid foundational knowledge and hands-on experience with Linux server administration.
- Virtualization: Proven experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware vSphere, Hyper-V).
- Cloud Platform: Hands-on experience with the Microsoft Azure cloud platform.
- Patch Management: Proficiency in using SCCM for software deployment, patch management, and endpoint control.
- Monitoring Tools: Experience with server monitoring tools such as SCOM, OpManager, or similar.
- Email Systems: Strong experience in MS Exchange Server administration.
- DR & HA: Practical knowledge of designing and supporting Disaster Recovery and High Availability solutions.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, MCSA/MCSE, VMware VCP, CompTIA Linux+).
- Experience with PowerShell or other scripting languages for automation.
- Knowledge of network fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, firewalls).
