We are currently recruiting for a General Superintendent to be based out of our Saudi Arabia office and provide construction leadership across the KSA. As a General Superintendent in KSA, you will be responsible for providing high level field management to other Superintendents, Foreman as well as our open-shop crews that make our nation’s structures stronger and last longer. Projects typically consist of concrete repair, cathodic protection, waterproofing, and structural strengthening in commercial and industrial settings.

As a successful candidate, you will be responsible for:

  • Interfacing closely with Superintendents, Project Managers, to direct, plan, coordinate and execute project work in a timely manner within budget while maintaining a safe workplace, working closely with the branch Manager of Construction.
  • Participating in pre-project and pre-task planning activities then disseminating planning details to field teams.
  • Responsible for Construction activity, safety, means & methods, and productivity for assigned projects.
  • Providing training and mentoring to field managers to aid in their professional and career growth.
  • Assisting project teams in the development of monthly progress reports, monthly payment applications, anticipated cost report, and other financial costs reports.
  • Completing all essential paperwork in a clear an accurate manner

Candidates who meet the following criteria may be considered for this exciting position:

  • Excellent written and verbal English communication and technical writing.
  • Strong hands-on construction knowledge & drawn towards technical understanding of projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Construction Management or related field OR significant relevant work experience in place of degree will be considered.
  • 10+ years of experience in general construction with at least 5 of those years in a field management role at a Superintendent level or above
  • Prior experience in general repair type projects to include concrete repair, structural strengthening, waterproofing, corrosion control, façade restoration, etc.
  • Previous experience running multiple projects simultaneously (depending on size/complexity)
  • Proven ability to manage various levels of field managers whileoverseeing divisional field operations.
  • Advanced proficiency to read, interpret and execute to construction drawings and contract specifications. Resolving discrepancies as needed.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with the customer, crew, and project teams.
  • Advanced computer skills and construction math skills
  • Possesses advanced leadership skills to evaluate, train, and mentor others and hold team members accountable while demonstrating model behavior relative to Structural Group's operating principles.

JOB PURPOSE / OBJECTIVE

To work closely together with the Production Manager and Construction Manager and the project team to ensure that all assigned projects are executed safely, on time, and within budget in accordance with the contract and International Maritime Industries Management System (IMIMS).

Key Accountabilities

  • Facilitate weekly schedule coordination meetings with all subcontractor foremen to outline requirements of work completion, and other issues as may be required including but not limited to manpower requirements, interference coordination, inspections, and sequence of work. Distribute three-week look ahead schedules and communicate schedule requirements with all subcontractors.
  • Organize the workshop for efficient production flow of materials, sub structures, Tee beams, small panels etc. to feed block construction of the rig and create the project schedules with the Construction Manager.
  • Manage the structural construction team to ensure there is a consistent focus on a high level of detailed scope understanding and early issue identification, tracking and mitigation.
  • Contribute strongly to preparing the execution strategy, work pack for NBR awarded projects, and day-to-day running of the project is functioning in accordance with the project schedule and budget.
  • Maintain a high-level control around the cost of all construction consumables and equipment utilized during the construction works and possess strong initiative around decision making and ability to conceptualize plans and technical solutions to deal with a wide array of standard and innovative construction issues.
  • Implement, monitor, and drive the project schedule. Promptly notify the management team of schedule and performance issues, to be proactive in anticipating potential problems that may impact the project performance.
  • Work closely with the Construction Manager to design and prepare the required procedures and standard process related to rig building activities.
  • Liaise with and provide support to the project subcontractors to ensure that all contract obligations are met and possess strong knowledge and understanding of shipyard HSEQ regulations and rig building job certification requirements and ensure the same is communicated to the project team on a regular basis.
  • Identify the work priorities, focus on the critical path, analyze the work problems in writing with own problemsolving mentality, accurate supervision, decision-maker with a strong convincing personality, full readiness with 'Plan B' for any unexpected issues.
  • Oversee delivery of all Inspection Test Records (ITR's) under the relevant discipline by effectively delegating to the foreman and chargehands. This must be approached with a high focus on interfacing and coordination with all other discipline supervision to remove all blocks from achieving target dates.

Purpose of the job is to establish, lead and develop site planning team and functions and will be accountable for directing and coordinating all aspects of maintenance planning and scheduling for light vehicles and fixed assets within the gold mining operation.The incumbent ensures that preventive and corrective maintenance programs are delivered in a safe, structured, and cost-effective manner, thereby supporting production targets, equipment reliability, and corporate objectives.

As work will be in isolated location, we expect the candidate to have previous experience of similar type of work. And to be able to work with team in customer site together with customer crew.
