The Role

The Work

Our work spans the whole of the MENA region and beyond. The team advise on the full range of banking and project finance transactions including limited recourse project finance, Islamic finance, secured and unsecured bilateral and syndicated loans, leveraged and acquisition finance, rescheduling and restructuring, loan transfers, derivatives and other financial products.

The team offers specialist advice in the following legal areas :

  • Bank Lending : Advising on the full range of banking transactions including secured and unsecured bilateral and syndicated loans, leveraged and acquisition finance, rescheduling and restructuring, loan transfers, participations and acquisitions and disposals.
  • Projects : Clients include arrangers, lenders, debt and equity financiers, borrowers, project sponsors, export-credit agencies and international financial organisations.
  • Islamic finance – we devise and deliver financing solutions that are specific to the needs of our clients.

The team devises and delivers financing solutions that are specific to the needs of our clients. As a leader in the growing Islamic finance field, in the past year Clifford Chance has closed more than US$25 billion worth of transactions – groundbreaking deals that have provided innovative Shari'a compliant structures for clients in markets across the Middle East andbeyond.

  • Proven track record of acting on a variety of finance transactions.
  • All candidates should be fluent in English and will have previous experience working in a "Magic Circle" or top tier international law firm. Fluency in Arabic language would be valued but it is not a prerequisite.
  • In all cases, candidates should have first class legal ability coupled with a practical commercial approach; excellent drafting, analytical and communication skills; and enjoy being part of a friendly outgoing team. You must also have exceptional results throughout your academic history. All candidates should be fluent in English.
  • Experience in, or exposure to, advising on Saudi Law aspects of international cross-border transactions would be advantageous.

    The Senior Strategic Marketing Leader is responsible for leading, managing and directing all of the marketing related activities. He/she will work with the leadership team to identify, document and execute a growth strategy for the business. This growth strategy will be developed through extensive market & vertical analysis, expert use of Voice of the Customer discussions to discern customer segments, economics (willingness to pay and cost to serve), competitive dynamics, choosing target segments, development of all go-to-market approaches including channel, positioning, pricing and promotion. The successful candidate will coordinate with other functions including, offering management, sales excellence, customer marketing, and business leaders for each target segment, to develop and execute the business’ strategic plan. This person will also work with the business and functional leaders on all strategic and implementation programs related to the marketing function.

    The successful candidate will work closely with the field sales organization, key distributors, internal executives, and key business partners to maximize the growth, development and return on investment of the organization’s product portfolio today and in the future.     JUNIOR/SENIOR BEHAVIORAL SCIENTIST

    If you have recently completed your Master or PhD and want to start or advance your career in behavioral sciences, this role is for you. As a (Junior/Senior) Behavioral Scientist, you will work closely with Behavia’s directors on projects for public sector clients in Europe and Saudi Arabia. You will be part of small, dynamic teams, contributing your analytical and communicative skills to support research experimentation, and policy advising.

    • Conducting background research and literature reviews
    • Designing and programming behavioral experiments and surveys
    • Analyzing client data and experimental results
    • Presenting insights to clients and stakeholders

    Your profile

    • Master’s or PhD in Behavioral Economics, Experimental Economics, Behavioral Science, Psychology, or a related field
    • Experience in programming experiments and/or surveys
    • Ability to explain complex experiments to non-academic audiences
    • Strong statistical skills (e.g., R, Stata, SPSS, Python)
    • Proficiency in PowerPoint
    • Ability to work remotely in an international team
    • Fluency in English (mandatory), Arabic or German is a plus

    DIRECTOR

As a director at Behavia, you will take on leadership responsibilities and work closely with Behavia’s managing directors, researchers, and partners to deliver the best results for our clients.

    • Leading smaller teams and managing projects from start to finish
    • Being the main point of contact for our clients, organizing project plans and overall project coordination
    • Developing conceptual solutions and driving their implementation
    • Guiding behavioral scientists in data collection, analysis, and reporting
    • Presenting key insights to high-level stakeholders and policymakers

    Your profile

    • A minimum of five years of professional experience in applying behavioral sciences and experimental research in the public or private sector
    • PhD in Behavioral Economics, Experimental Economics, Behavioral Science, Psychology, or a related field
    • Proven experience in consulting and leading multi-stakeholder projects
    • Proven experience in developing presentations, policy reports, or frameworks
    • Proven experience in experimental design, survey programming, and data analysis
    • Proven ability to communicate complex research to non-expert audiences
    • Excellent organizational and project management skills with the ability to handle multiple interrelated deliverables within tight deadlines
    • Strong leadership and client management skills
    • Ability to work remotely and collaborate in an international setting
    • Fluency in English (mandatory), Arabic or German is a plus

    WHAT TO EXPECT FROM US

    Locations

    • Europe: Fully remote work with occasional travels to connect with colleagues and clients in person
    • Saudi Arabia: Mainly on-site work at our clients’ premises, otherwise remote working

    Contracts

    • Direct hire for EU nationals in Germany, Portugal, Austria, or Greece

    • Arrangements from 50% to 100% FTE (full-time equivalent) are possible

    Duration

    • Fixed term contract for 12 months with potential for extension

    Compensation

    • Europe: Salaries are based on TVöD/Bund pay scale with Level 13 for Junior/Senior roles and Level 15 for Director roles

    General Description of Role and Responsibilities:

    • Adopting and implementing Clients PMM and EXPROs Five-Year Projects.
    • Portfolio Planning (5 YPPP) processes and methodologies.
    • Project registration and managing initial stages of the Stage-Gate process.
    • Review and update the National Guideline for the Master Planning.
    • Manage the development of the National Master Plan.
    • Review Clusters Master Plan.
    • Review and approve the Capital Investment Plan (CIP) that the Local Master Plan identifies.
    • Ensure that all projects identified within the CIP contribute toward achieving the KPIs.
    • Review and approve the project's business cases.
    • Ensure all projects are aligned with the requirements of the Master Plan.
    • Supporting the cluster to prepare/update the 5YPPP periodically.
    • Prioritize projects within the 5 YPPP based on the approved criteria.
    • Update and finalize the 5YPPP based on the comment from the EXPRO team.
    • Work with other client departments to develop the capital expenditure for their specialized program.
    • Supporting the Client in coordinating with external governmental departments such as municipalities to ensure the alignment of their projects with their expansion plans.
    • Working with the supply and demand committee to update their plan regularly.
    • Monitor the implementation of the regional Master Plans and their identified CIPs.
    • Assessing the capability of the Clients existing department staff and recommending appropriate roles and responsibilities.
    • Integrate clients assets GIS data in one database platform.
    • Preparing the Strategic Planning department knowledge transfer program, which includes comprehensive on-the-job learning.
    • Working with the Client to coordinate the water and wastewater service with the main developers.
    • Draft agreements and MOUs to provide services for the developers.
    • Coordinate with the regional clusters to ensure the timely execution of agreements and relevant projects.
    • Attend coordination meetings with the main developers.
    • Review mega project requirements for water and wastewater service and ensure these requirements are included within the master plans.
    • Informs themselves of the relevant Quality, Environmental, Safety and Occupational Health Policies, Manuals and Procedures within Hill International and ensures continued compliance with these requirements while employed by Hill.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by the line manager/supervisor.

    Skills

    Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

    • Bachelor / Master of engineering or urban planning from an accredited university.
    • Minimum 20 years experience in related field on national / international major initiatives and developments.
    • A record of close engagement with utility providers and wider commercial and public cluster stakeholders.
    • Expert in major development master planning and urban planning preferably at national levels. Thorough knowledge of urban and infrastructure planning disciplines.
    • Expert in the development of water and wastewater master plan
    • Extensive experience of working internationally (preference for Middle East / KSA). Preferable cultural understanding of project management within KSA.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
