Job Description
  • Implement the PPM Program and schedule for all kitchen and laundry equipment in the hotel.
  • Follow up on local authority requirements for maintenance plans of kitchen equipment.
  • Maintain records and coordinate with the hygiene manager to ensure compliance with HACCP standards.
  • Attend to repairs and maintenance of laundry and kitchen equipment, both electric and gas-powered.
  • Operate, repair, and maintain all cold rooms, fridge units, ice machines, and other refrigeration systems.
  • Operate, repair, and maintain all ovens, dishwashers, stoves, and other electric and gas kitchen equipment.
  • Assist with the installation of new or additional kitchen equipment, providing technical expertise.
  • Conduct routine inspections of kitchen and bar areas, logging observations.
  • Perform daily log readings of cold rooms and refrigerated equipment to ensure proper operation.
  • Carry out repairs as per manufacturer’s recommendations.
  • Complete assigned checklists, inspections, testing, and log readings.
  • Check and replace fused lights in the kitchen.
  • Check and replace water filters for coffee machines, combi ovens, ice machines, and other water systems.
  • Perform general and emergency repairs and maintenance on all kitchen equipment.
  • Ensure fire safety and engineering features operate efficiently.
  • Maintain proper records of all plant and equipment.
  • Review daily log books, follow up on unresolved items from previous shifts related to kitchen equipment, systems, and units.
  • Complete daily tasks and assignments promptly and to the standards set by the Engineering Department.
  • Ensure maintenance requests are addressed within acceptable timeframes.
  • Supervise kitchen equipment contractors, ensuring standards are met.
  • Assist other engineering staff as needed.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in good condition.
  • Keep an adequate stock of spare parts and materials.
  • Operate all plant equipment safely, ensuring the safety of guests and staff at all times.
Desired Skills & Expertise
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Kitchen Technician in a 4 or 5-star hotel.
  • Knowledge of repair and maintenance of hot and cold kitchen equipment, including chillers, freezers, dishwashers, glass washers, gas cooking equipment, and ovens.
  • Familiarity with various brands of kitchen equipment.
  • Ability to perform ARC and gas welding.

GENERAL ROLE :

As Kitchen Technician at Miraval The Red Sea, your main role is maintaining the Back of House Area. He has the responsibility of maintaining all the plants and equipment of the resort. It is thus important that work dedicated by the engineering management is following through effectively and efficiently. By providing an accurate feedback, it would enhance the cooperation between the departments. This position install, maintain, and repair Kitchen and Laundry equipment to ensure optimal guest comfort and equipment efficiency.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

Please note that the responsibilities outlined below are not exhaustive. Miraval The Red Sea colleagues continuously innovate in caring for the needs of the business, their guests, and their colleagues. As Kitchen Technician you will need to:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on Kitchen and Laundry equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions in equipment.
  • Monitor and adjust system controls for energy efficiency.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and guest concerns.
  • Record and report equipment status, repairs, and parts used.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and local regulations.
  • Assist in general maintenance duties as needed.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in safe and proper condition.
  • Coordinate with outside vendors when necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned by Engineering leadership.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous Kitchen and Laundry equipment repair experience required.
  • Relevant technical certification or license preferred.
  • Boiler Maintenance experience
  • Basic English skills required. Arabic speaking would be an advantage.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS (IF ANY)

  • Ability to stand, walk, climb, kneel, and bend frequently.
  • Must be able to lift or move equipment up to 50 lbs.
  • Work in high, low, and confined spaces as needed.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Kitchen Admin Supervisor Role

The Kitchen Admin Supervisor is either a current Assistant or Junior Assistant, preferably with a food quality and cost control background. The primary role is to ensure stock quality, accuracy, and efficiency are maintained at the highest standards. Additionally, the Supervisor will perform control tasks supporting the Kitchen Manager in maintaining operational standards. Work schedule should support timely requisition placement and presence during critical deliveries (Central Kitchen, Warehouse). Morning or mid-shift work is recommended.

What You'll Do
  • Place requisitions in ERP using demand planning tools, PAR levels, and stock on hand
  • Check stock on hand quality and quantity before requisitioning
  • Be present during delivery receipt from CK, WH, and suppliers, verifying quality, accuracy, and quantity
  • Escalate issues related to faulty receiving (quality, quantity, delays)
  • Generate variance reports and communicate shortages
  • Escalate repetitive issues to Area Manager
  • Follow up on additional orders and coordinate emergency shipments
  • Enter Goods Receiving Notes (GRNs) in ERP
  • Be an expert in SOPs related to receiving, ordering, and inventory management, and monitor team adherence
  • Provide guidance to managers and CDPs to ensure SOP compliance in her/his absence
