Role Summary: The main function of the Estimating Engineer is to be a link between Commercial Operations worldwide and regional sales offices within a facility and answer all technical and commercial questions that they could have related to manufactured products.
Responsibilities & Requirements:
- Determination of materials costs to manufacture equipment in coordination with manufacturing, lab test, finance, quality, logistic, purchasing and supplier’s development departments.
- Estimate equipment´s cost based on standard rates and according to the customer´ specifications.
- Estimation of pump’s cost, following the estimating guidelines, and assuring a profitable operation.
- Analyze the shipping arrangements based on proposed equipment, determining size and weights of the packing boxes according to equipment in order to evaluate along with the logistic department to determine freight cost, packing cost, and point of shipment according with the Incoterm negotiated in the customer´s ontract.
- To evaluate if the pump will be shipped totally assembled or will require to be shipped in parts in order to define the number of containers to be considered in the pump’s price.
- Determination of the freight insurance cost in coordination with the logistic department.
- Advise to Commercial Operations and/or Sales Offices pricing and lead time of new equipment and provide clarifications and respond questions that might arise from the salesman or the customer in timely way.
- Provide complete responses to Commercial Operations and/or Sales Offices including alternative pricing and lead time clarifications to commercial terms.
- Any time there may be a change in specifications our price and lead time shall be reviewed and updated accordingly.
- Save proposal data in a shared electronic file for statistic controls.
- Look for a continuous improvement regarding the estimating process, having an improvement on the estimation process; timing, quality, material cost reduction, labor cost using software and electronic tools.
- Revision of the customer’s P.O. and job order entry form of the sold equipment, in case of a scope of supply difference between what was sold and what was estimated, estimating department will advise to the projects department to request for a change order to the customer.
- Participation in the pre-award meeting, as needed.
- Support General Management on the formal acceptance/rejection of new purchase order.
- Leading and participation in in the AMO meeting.
- Participation on an internal kick-off meeting for each order, and on the kick of meeting with the customer, if needed.
- Provide to all operations areas with the sufficient data to determine the cost objectives of the equipment to manufacture.
- Perform a general follow-up to the budget of each project, providing assistance/guidance to Engineering, Purchasing and Projects Departments to avoid major deviations to the budget.
- Based on the actual cost registration, supervise the recent cost sheets and consider in the new estimations.
- Reduce the answer-cycle time by using and electronic resources and indicate it in the proper procedures.

Preferred Experience / Skills:
- Strong skills on hydraulics and centrifugal pumps.
- High communication skills and interpersonal abilities.
- Previous experience on a similar activity is desired, but not mandatory.
- BS or BA Degree in relevant field and / or 0-2 years relevant experience.

Key objectives & Responsibilities:- Develop and oversee comprehensive cost estimates for EPC and BOOT projects across infrastructure, civil, and energy sectors.
- Ensure estimates reflect current market conditions, regional pricing trends, and regulatory frameworks in KSA.
- Support bid/no-bid decisions and commercial strategy through detailed cost analysis and risk evaluation.
