Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain security system servers and applications (VMS, access control, intrusion detection, etc.).
  • Support and troubleshoot systems running on Windows Server OS, MS SQL, and VMware or Hyper-V platforms.
  • Design and implement network configurations, ensuring secure and reliable system communication.
  • Configure and support Microsoft Failover Clustering for high availability environments.
  • Collaborate with project and support teams to deploy and integrate security systems in client environments.
  • Perform system diagnostics and resolve issues related to software, database, or network connectivity.
  • Ensure proper system documentation, backup, and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Coordinate with vendors for advanced support and updates to security platforms.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in IT infrastructure and systems engineering roles.
  • Strong experience with:
    • Windows Server OS
    • MS SQL Server
    • Virtualization platforms (VMware/Hyper-V)
    • Networking concepts (TCP/IP, routing, VLANs, firewalls)
    • Microsoft Cluster Services (Failover Clustering)
  • Familiarity with security systems software (e.g., Genetec, Milestone, Lenel, Avigilon) is a plus.
  • Certifications such as MCSA, VMware VCP, or CCNA are advantageous.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.

Senior Solution Architect - Physical Security Systems

Location: Jeddah

JOB OBJECTIVE :

The physical security of sites, events, airports and energy production is a key issue for Thales customers. It relies on a wide range of capabilities (information systems, networks, telecoms, infrastructure, civil engineering, etc.).

The projects associated with the implementation of security and safety systems are highly innovative, international and multi-industry in nature, and require in-depth technical knowledge of the solutions and components as well as a real mastery of the systems aspect of the systems needed to successfully complete the projects.

The role of PRS is to ensure the overall implementation of these projects by providing real added value based on products (SDP-Security Digital Platform) but also on control of the overall engineering processes required for their deployment.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

In this context, the role of the security systems architect is to

  • Supporting customers in their technical choices and promoting Thales solutions (SDP, etc.)
  • Describing and structuring the architectures of future security systems in coordination with project teams and engineering teams.
  • Acting as Design Authority.
  • Coordinating internal and external partners to achieve a coherent vision and architecture.
  • Participating in the costing of technical solutions and ensuring their competitiveness.
  • Overseeing the choice of technical solutions in a context of innovation that can extend into the next fifteen to thirty years.
  • Communicating solutions in support of PRS strategy, sales management and domain management.
  • Participating and guiding technical policy.


WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS :

15 years of Experience on various Systems Engineering life cycle activities, and out of which 5 years of Experience working in different Technical Management positions

QUALIFICATION, CERTIFICATION & EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS :

Bachelors in Electrical / Electronic / Computer / IT or relevant Engineering

PREFERRED SKILLS:

The qualities needed to succeed in this role are

  • A structured approach to systems architectures and associated modelling tools.
  • Wide-ranging technical skills in the fields of information systems, sensors, end-effectors and network, radio and operator managed services infrastructure.

What You’ll Do:

As a Security Systems Engineer, you will lead the design, documentation, and implementation of integrated physical and electronic security systems aligned with SAIS/HCIS and RCU RIMA standards. You will be responsible for delivering engineering solutions across the full project lifecycle—from concept through commissioning—while providing technical leadership and supporting collaboration with clients, vendors, and internal teams.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop Concept, Preliminary, and Detailed Designs along with supporting drawings, documentation, and system specifications.
  • Oversee construction supervision and commissioning of systems such as CCTV, IDAS, PIDS, SACS, ALPR, UVIS, VSS, VMS, PSIM, and related infrastructure.
  • Respond to client technical queries and clarify design intent, integration requirements, and compliance standards.
  • Create scopes of work, support tendering and evaluate technical and financial deliverables from third-party contractors.
  • Utilize AutoCAD and/or MicroStation to produce or review detailed engineering drawings.
  • Coordinate technical meetings with clients, consultants, and stakeholders to resolve design issues.
  • Perform peer reviews of design packages to ensure quality, accuracy, and adherence to project requirements.
