We would like you to join us as a Security Operations Manager at the Unipart site in SILZ, KSA, reporting directly to the Country Director and forming part of the Group Security Management Team.
As Security Operations Manager you’ll ensure a safe and secure environment for Unipart, its customers, and employees by effectively implementing Unipart's security framework and standards. This involves managing the Unipart site in KSA, proactively reducing risk, and overseeing third-party guarding services to ensure robust protection and adherence to contractual requirements.
As part of your key responsibilities you’ll:
- Assess and identify security risks, developing and implementing corrective action plans to reduce losses from security incidents and claims
- Conduct effective and timely incident investigations in accordance with Security and HR guidelines
- Serve as a direct escalation point for security support, including out-of-hours incidents, and be prepared to respond, manage, and escalate incidents
- Drive positive customer feedback, ensuring security services are seen as a critical business enabler and differentiator
- Manage customer complaints and advise on security issues and measures
- Develop and maintain strong collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders (site management, operations, HR, Legal, Facilities Management, Health & Safety, Data Protection) and external partners (law enforcement, legal/regulatory bodies, third-party guarding providers)
Operational Excellence & Compliance:
- Develop and maintain in-depth site security profiles, including mapping security design and installations and emergency contact lists
- Conduct regular site assessments to identify areas for improvement and cost optimisation, driving innovation and contributing to projects and mobilisations
- Ensure all security operational control processes and procedures are correctly documented and implemented (e.g., Assignment Instructions, SOPs)
- Implement and oversee site Security Risk Classification assessments and Security Audit programs
- Ensure strict compliance with customer contractual requirements and all legislative/regulatory requirements
- Provide direct operational responsibility for managing manned guarding services, ensuring sites are robustly protected and 100% correctly resourced
- Manage day-to-day operational and administration support to external guarding providers
- Collaborate with vendors on SLAs to improve security operational deliverables
Training & Development:
- Assist in the development of security documentation, SOPs, and Assignment Instructions
- Support and deliver relevant security awareness and training programs for all manned guards and internal stakeholders
- Ensure continuous development of team members (if applicable)
Performance Monitoring & Reporting:
- Produce high-quality, succinct progress reports on security risk and incident management
- Provide monthly metrics to management on security incidents and impacting events
- Develop and manage agreed manned guarding KPIs
- Ensure all physical and technological security solutions are adequate and fully functioning
- Safeguard Unipart’s business reputation by maintaining adequate security measures and standards
- Ensure operational sites are correctly risk-assessed and compliant with security auditing standards, compiling corrective action reports for non-compliant sites
About You

- Minimum of 5+ years of demonstrable experience in security risk management
- Strong, effective communication skills (written and verbal) with critical thinking and sound judgment to convey information clearly and justify conclusions

- Proven ability to perform well under pressure and prioritise workload to meet tight deadlines

- High level of PC literacy, particularly with Microsoft Office and Google applications

We have opened several senior/staff Security Operations Engineer (SOC) positions, creating a new team reporting to the CISO. We are looking for a range of experience in these positions - at the high end we are looking for deep experience defending highly contested critical assets and high-value cyber targets against advanced persistent threats and state-level actors. We have more junior roles for exceptional individuals with a proven personal interest an engagement in cyber attack and defence, and outstanding academic and career performance even if experience is limited.
Our goal is to build an entirely new level of assurance and observable rigour into the open source supply chain. We have our own estate to monitor, but more broadly our goal is to raise the robustness of the entire global Ubuntu estate through the work of this team.
The Security Operations (SecOps) team is responsible for design, implementation and evolution of Canonical security practices, techniques, tools, systems and policies. The team is the primary owner of strategy and practices that determine how Canonical secures its data, internal infrastructure and build processes. They are responsible for assuring the security and integrity of our own infrastructure and product deployments. We have opened several senior/staff Security Operations Engineer (SOC) positions, creating a new team reporting to the CISO. We are looking for a range of experience in these positions - at the high end we are looking for deep experience defending highly contested critical assets and high-value cyber targets against advanced persistent threats and state-level actors. We have more junior roles for exceptional individuals with a proven personal interest an engagement in cyber attack and defence, and outstanding academic and career performance even if experience is limited.
Our goal is to build an entirely new level of assurance and observable rigour into the open source supply chain. We have our own estate to monitor, but more broadly our goal is to raise the robustness of the entire global Ubuntu estate through the work of this team.
The Security Operations (SecOps) team is responsible for design, implementation and evolution of Canonical security practices, techniques, tools, systems and policies. The team is the primary owner of strategy and practices that determine how Canonical secures its data, internal infrastructure and build processes. They are responsible for assuring the security and integrity of our own infrastructure and product deployments. They design and implement technical security controls that ensure security threats are automatically identified, contained and remediated. The team will also contribute ideas and requirements for Canonical product security, improving the resilience and robustness of all Ubuntu customers and users subject to cyber attack.
The SecOps team's mission is not only to secure Canonical, but also to contribute to the security of the wider open source ecosystem. They might share knowledge through public presentations and industry events, and share threat intelligence with the wider community or represent Canonical in sector-specific governance bodies.
What you will do in this role:
- Implement and evolve Canonical's Security Operation Center
- Analyse and improve Canonical's security architecture
- Evaluate, select and implement new security tools and practices
- Identify, contain and guide the remediation of security threats and cyber attacks
- Grow the presence and thought leadership of Canonical SecOps practice
- Contribute to open source threat intelligence initiatives
- Drive threat modelling, table top exercises and other SecOps practices across Engineering, IS and Canonical
- Develop Canonical SecOps learning and development materials
- Publish blog posts, whitepapers and conference presentations
- Identify, implement and track SecOps KPIs
- Plan and deliver SecOps work in the framework of Canonical's agile engineering practice
- Work with Security leadership to present information and influence change
- An exceptional academic track record
- Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or STEM, or a compelling narrative about your alternative path
- Previous professional experience working or leading a Security Operation Center
- Deep personal motivation to be at the forefront of technology security
- Expertise in threat modelling and risk management frameworks
- Knowledge of security architecture and market-leading security tools
- Experience contributing to, and consuming, threat intelligence feeds
- Experience in security risk management frameworks such as NIST CSF and ISO27001
- Experience in a security operations team or a security operations centre (SOC)
- Experience in offensive or defensive security teams with hands-on ability
- Experience with state-actor and other advanced persistent threats

ASMO aims to be operational in 2025 and provide reliable end-to-end integrated procurement and supply chain services for companies across the industrial, energy, chemical, and petrochemical sectors. Our focus customers in the short term will be Saudi Aramco and its Affiliates. In the long term, all the industrial sectors within Saudi Arabia aim to reach the MENA region.
Objective:
The role-holder will have knowledge of the rules, procedures and in some cases, the principles and practices within the IT Security Operations discipline. They will be tasked with selectively extracting, verifying, and compiling objective and measurable data. In some instances, they may determine the course of action based on established principles and modify existing processes and methods.
General Responsibilities:
- Implement and manage security controls for ASMO’s IT infrastructure including cloud workloads and endpoint devices.
- Monitor security systems and tools to detect and respond to security incidents and vulnerabilities.
- Ensure that any unauthorized access, misuse, modification or denial of a network resource or network itself is detected and prevented
- Configure and maintain the virtual private network, firewalls, web content filtering and email security
- Configure network intrusion detection and prevention. Setup and monitor sandboxing solutions
- Implement zoning and configure the network for proactive monitoring
- Work with different technical teams to and implement a stable, secure and optimized endpoint environment for employees
- Ensure mobile devices used to access corporate data and applications are protected by Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions. Report endpoint compliance to security leadership
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and remediate security risks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with security policies, standards, and regulations.
- Work with SOC team to investigate and respond to security incidents, including conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
- Develop and maintain documentation related to security configurations, procedures, and incident response plans.
- Stay updated on emerging threats and vulnerabilities and recommend security enhancements
- Design, implement, and maintain identity and access management systems and processes.
- Manage user provisioning, deprovisioning, and access request workflows.
- Enforce access controls, authentication mechanisms, and role-based access policies.
- Operate identity related systems including Privileged Access Management, Multi-factor Authentication, NAC authorization and Identity Management.
- Developing the architecture, design and standards of Identity Governance infrastructures including Active Directory, SAML, ADFS, Azure, Enterprise Authentication, Single Sign-on and Provisioning systems.
- Develop and implement data protection measures, including encryption, data loss prevention,and data classification.
- Enforce usage of data classification and labeling tools
- Generate reports that indicate the level of compliance and effective protection of data
- Conduct periodic access reviews and audits to ensure compliance with data protection regulations.
- Collaborate with business units to define access requirements and implement appropriate access controls.
- Provide user training and support on IDAM systems and data protection best practices.
- Recommend training and development interventions for team members to build their capabilities.
- Contribute to the identification of opportunities for the continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices to increase productivity and operational efficiency.
- Implement all relevant IT Security Operations department’s policies, processes, procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
- Contribute to the preparation of timely and accurate reports to meet departmental requirements, policies and standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or equivalent from a recognized and accredited university is required.
- Master’s degree in computer science, information technology or equivalent from a recognized and accredited university is preferred.
- Certifications in information security (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CIAM, CISA, CompTIA Security+) preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in oral and written English.
- 5 years’ experience in the same Field.
- Experience in Infrastructure, Network, Endpoint, Cloud and Container Security.
