Role Description
Alrahden Cleaning Company is seeking a highly skilled R&D Chemist/Specialist with 3–5 years of experience in the personal care and cosmetic industry.
This is a full-time on-site role for a Research & Development Chemist/Specialist based in Riyadh. The Research & Development Chemist/Specialist will be responsible for conducting research and development activities, performing laboratory experiments, analyzing data, and formulating and testing new products. Additionally, the role includes ensuring quality control, staying up-to-date with industry trends and advancements, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance product development and innovation.
The selected candidate will be responsible for developing and formulating innovative, high-quality products including (but not limited to):
- Hair Care Products: Shampoos, conditioners, hair creams, hair masks.
- Skin Care Products: Facial cleansers, scrubs, moisturizers, nourishing creams, specialized creams (e.g., sunscreens).
- Cosmetics & Body Care: Body lotions, creams, foundations, and other cosmetic formulations.
- Hygienic Products: Liquid soaps, body washes, wet wipes, hand sanitizers.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and formulate new products aligned with global standards and market trends.
- Conduct laboratory tests for product performance, stability, and safety.
- Perform stability testing (physical, chemical, and microbiological).
- Operate and utilize advanced laboratory instruments such as:
- GC (Gas Chromatography)
- UV-Vis Spectrophotometer
- FTIR (Fourier-Transform Infrared Spectroscopy)
- Viscometer & Rheometer (for viscosity and rheological properties)
- pH Meter & Conductivity Meter
- Microscope & Microbiological Testing equipment
- Conduct performance and efficacy tests such as: foaming tests for shampoos, skin hydration measurement, cream absorption, and sensory evaluation.
- Collaborate with Quality Control, Production, and Marketing teams to ensure successful product launches.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Applied Chemistry, or related field.
- 3–5 years of proven experience in personal care and cosmetic product development.
- Strong knowledge of laboratory instruments, product performance, and stability evaluation.
- Excellent research, analytical, and innovation skills.
- Strong Analytical Skills and proficiency in Research and Development (R&D)
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Proficiency in English is a plus.

Job Description
The Center of Excellence in Development of Non-Profit Organizations at KFUPM is seeking qualified researchers to fill Research Scientist positions. The potential candidate must hold a Ph.D. degree.
Job Responsibility
- Perform research.
- Analysis.
- Publish findings in reputable peer reviewed journals.
- Write research proposals.
- Could include training/teaching.
