Job Purpose

The Waste Management Controller is responsible for overseeing waste management operations, maintaining associated KPIs and administration and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations and implementing efficient waste disposal and recycling practices.

Job Context

The position is responsible for:

•All Waste Management functions

•Maintaining all Waste Management KPIs and Administration

•Reducing workplace Hazards and Risks in the waste yard

•Support maintaining relevant Legal Compliance for LSA sites

Job Dimensions

Waste Management and Administration of all LSA waste.

Job Scope:

•Wasteyard Management and Housekeeping

•Recycling Waste Disposal: Cardboard, Plastic and Wood

•Maintaining Fire and Chemical Controls in the waste yard

Key Accountabilities

These will include:

1.Maintain Waste Management records and KPI's.

2. Manage all waste data and provide waste management data to internal Departments as requested.

3.Ensure high standards of Housekeeping and Safety in the waste yards

4.Ensure compliance with relevant waste regulations and guidelines as set by regional bodies

5.Publish statistics and progress reports monthly and as requested

6.Maintain Waste records, licences and permits ensuring they are in place and up to date

7.Manage Site Operators and Collectors while onsite

8.Ensure safe working practices comply with legislation.

9.Maintain records of inspections.

10.Keep up to date with relevant local legislation and best practices

11.Manage and organise the safe disposal and storage of hazardous substances

12.Support internal & external audits associated with Waste Management

13.Apply for Laboratory Analysis Reports for the disposal of hazardous waste.

14.Liaise with relevant internal and external Third Parties for waste disposal and collections.

15.Ensure only approved and authorized Third Party waste collectors are used.

16.Periodic auditing of the Third-Party waste collectors and their facilities, including calibration checks of weigh bridges

17.Carry out regular site inspections to check policies and procedures are being implemented

Qualifications, Experience & Skills

Level 3 certificate in HSE, Waste Management or Certified Waste Management Professional training is desirable

Previous experience in waste management and chemical controls

ISO 14001 experience

Experience in HSE preferably within a manufacturing industry would be an advantage

Good understanding of KSA Health, Safety & Environmental Legislation

Good communicator in both English and Arabic.

Experience working in an engineering environment.

Teamwork

Good organisational and time management skills.

• Monitor project progress, providing regular updates to senior management and stakeholders regarding milestones, budget adherence, and potential risks.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager – Waste Management Operations to lead and oversee waste management services for a large-scale park facility in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. In this role, you will ensure the effective and environmentally responsible collection, segregation, treatment, and disposal of all waste streams, while focusing on waste minimization, recycling, and compliance with NCEC and Riyadh municipal regulations.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Develop and Implement Waste Management Plans: Create and oversee a comprehensive waste management program aligned with Saudi Vision 2030 sustainability objectives and NCEC requirements.

• Manage Service Providers: Oversee the performance of waste management contractors, ensuring compliance with service level agreements (SLAs) and regulatory obligations.

• Ensure Proper Waste Handling: Supervise the segregation, collection, transportation, treatment, and disposal of all waste types, including general, recyclable, organic, hazardous, medical, and construction waste.

What You'll Do

As a Senior Analyst (SA) in a Client-Focused role within BCG's Public Sector (PS) and Climate & Sustainability (C&S) Practice Areas (PAs) in the Middle East, you will work in a growing global team, delivering value to clients via individual expertise and/or institutionalized knowledge assets (products, tools, data, workshops, frameworks, surveys, domain-specific data and related expertise, etc.).

• Core focus areas will include supporting the growth of the regional PS x C&S IP, including topics important to developing sustainable water, waste, and agricultural systems in the Middle East, such as green transformations, sustainable waste systems and circular economy, sustainable food and water systems, digital/AI/GenAI solutions and technologies for sustainable development, in close collaboration with sectoral and functional expertise from across the PS and C&S PAs.
• You will contribute to proposals and cases through thought partnership in your area of expertise, delivering original analyses and insights that help drive strong impact with clients. This includes participating in day-to-day meetings with clients, developing presentations (in PowerPoint) and quantitative models (in Excel) as needed, running meetings independently or with the support of BCG leadership, and developing white papers (in Word) detailing specific topics of expertise. You will also be responsible for preparing proposals (in PowerPoint) to support business development efforts and contributing to the development of internal BCG Practice Area initiatives.

What You'll Bring

• 2+ years consulting experience in relevant sector/topic. Candidates with consulting experience strongly preferred, or engineering experience in waste, water, food and agriculture systems in the Middle East
• In lieu of consulting experience, 3+ years minimum industry experience required; 4-6+ years of industry experience strongly preferred, particularly in utilities (water), waste management, or organizations offering innovative technological solutions in water, waste, and/or agri-food systems
• Comprehensive understanding of water, waste, and/or food value chains is required, including familiarity with regional challenges and opportunities in resource management, infrastructure, policy frameworks, and technology adoption.
