, this position is responsible for providing environmental health and safety support to the operations and will ensure that all practices are in compliance with the company's internal regulatory requirements. The position will also be responsible for coordinating regulatory programs and its application.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensuring Safe Work
- Ensure that employees are using personal safety gear while carrying out plant operations.
- Ensure that general safety and good housekeeping practices are followed across the plant, offices, and canteen.
- Coordinate all safety requirements of the plant and ensure availability of sufficient safety items and signboards in the plant.
Fire Fighting Equipment
- Ensure that fire extinguishers are available at adequate locations.
- Ensure that fire extinguishers are inspected at appropriate time intervals.
- Ensure the operation of firefighting systems and related auxiliaries like water pumps, fire alarms, etc.
Emergency Preparedness
- Identify potential emergency situations and establish appropriate procedures
- Periodically conduct emergency incident and fire drills. Support during fire drills, safety training and other such activities to increase awareness.
- Inspect plant machinery, equipment, vehicles, etc. from safety point of view and take corrective actions or suggest modifications in order to prevent loss or damage.
Incident Investigation
- Investigate industrial accidents, near-miss incidents, and occupational injuries to determine causes, install preventive measures, and manage return-to-work activities.
- Reporting the results of incident investigations to management
HSE Documentation
- Maintain and update the SOPs' for all safe work practices and equipment.
- Maintain all the inspection, incidents and other health and safety related record.
Training & Awareness
- Conduct or coordinate worker training in areas such as safety laws and regulations, hazardous condition monitoring, and use of safety equipment.
- Provide technical advice, coaching, guidance, and mentoring to employees on safety initiatives and necessary changes.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Associate Degree in Health & Safety, Engineering. Bachelors preferred.
- Educational background in HSE or a related field.
