Responsibilities
- Adhere to and implement AtkinsRéalis internal HSE management system requirements and procedures for AtkinsRéalis site team.
- Adhere to project HSE requirements and implement this to AtkinsRéalis team.
- Monitor the compliance of all WSA staff with the applicable safety standards and company's procedures and bring to the attention of the Project Manager any safety violations by WSA site team for their further action.
- Monitor, assess and report on Contractor and Sub Contractors HSE compliance with the project HSE requirements as per the Contract and HSE legislation / best practice
- Immediately bring to the attention of the AtkinsRéalis PM the critical and outstanding safety issues for their further actions.
- Conduct and co-ordinate regular safety training for WSA staff.
- Carry out daily site HSE tours with Contractor HSE staff and highlight findings.
- Issue Safety Enforcement Notices (SEN) as per applicable AtkinsRéalis SEN procedure.
- Follow up with the Contractor on outstanding HSE issues, including SEN's and ensuring prompt closure with adequate evidence of compliance.
- Review and comment of the Contractors HSE Plans. Advise the Contractor to update the site safety plan when necessary.
- Review and comment on Contractors risk assessments and work method statements.
- Develop and update AtkinsRéalis HSE documents (the Safety File), e.g. HSE Plan, HSE specific site risk assessment, office risk assessment, office fire risk assessment, etc.
- Conduct accident and incident investigations for AtkinsRéalis staff.
- Compile accident report and incident statistics.
- Chair weekly safety meetings where required with the Contractor and other parties as necessary. Issue MOM on time (within 48 hours). Report any outstanding and critical safety issues or lack of action by the Contractor in the weekly progress meetings.
- Prepare and maintain AtkinsRéalis HSE registers, e.g. training, induction, SEN, inspection reports, accident/Incident, and others as required.
- Report any accident on site immediately to AtkinsRéalis UAE Health and Safety Manager and Line Manager.
- Communicate, coordinate and seek any advice from AtkinsRéalis UAE Health and Safety Manager as required.
- On major issues, prior to issuing Safety Enforcement Notices - Prohibition Notice.
- Monitor the Contractor's compliance with UAE Health, Safety, Security and Environmental (HSSE) legislation and Contractors HSE Plan and report and follow up any breaches.
- Liaise with the Employer, Contractors and the Site Supervision Team and report status of safety issues.
- Liaise with contractors' Project Managers, Construction Managers and Safety Managers to improve safety provisions.
- Prepare regular weekly, monthly and other reports as required on safety matters for issue to the Employer and Project Manager.
- Ensure that relevant safety measures have been put in place for AtkinsRéalis Engineers & Inspectors and provide training as and when require.
- Co-ordinate safety-related activities for AtkinsRéalis team and mentor regularly.
- Carry out inductions for AtkinsRéalis site staff.
- General HSSE advice as required
Qualification & Certification:
- With a minimum 12 years of experience in HSE
- Minimum HSE qualifications with NEBOSH Diploma/IGC.
- Lead auditor course ( ISO45001 and ISO14001).
- Professional membership from IIRSM/IOSH is preferred.

In this role you will **provides expertise, advice, and technical assistance to one or more project or program managers in implementing company risk management practices and in complying with the prevailing regulatory and client SH&E requirements.** Represents the company in all SH&E matters pertaining to internal and external activities as associated with assigned projects and programs. **What You'll Be Doing:**
+ Leads full-time, part-time, and collateral duty project and program SH&E specialists in implementing work plans and the company's risk management practices.
+ Represents the business unit SH&E director on project or program worksites.
+ Advises and assists project manager, program manager and/or other project and program personnel in conforming to Parsons' Environmental, Safety, Health, and Risk Program (ESHARP) management system and Parsons' policies and procedures.
+ Develops site-specific work plans, SH&E compliance programs, training programs, and orientation plans fully conforming to relevant SH&E regulations, Parsons' ESHARP management system, and client requirements.
+ Collaborates with project and program managers to evaluate (sub)contractors' SH&E performance, planning, and culture to be consistent with the company's risk management practices and core values.
+ Audits projects and programs and their worksites against corporate standards; creates and submits written audit reports.
+ Inspects worksites to detect hazards and provides expertise to project personnel to eliminate/control the SH&E risks associated with exposure to the hazards; creates and submits written inspection reports.
+ Implements Parsons' occupational injury and incident reporting and management processes.
+ Initiates and conducts thorough incident investigations and root cause analyses using defensible protocols.
+ Collaborates with project or program managers, craft workers, and other project or program personnel to identify effective corrective actions; creates and submits comprehensive investigation reports and lessons learned.
+ Performs trends analyses on audit findings, inspection findings, and incident reports; creates and submits regular analysis reports.
**What Required Skills You'll Bring:**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety and Health or related field (or equivalent experience)
+ Minimum 10 years of related work experience in the field of Health and Safety, including some supervisory experience
+ Extensive knowledge of Federal and State health and safety regulations and reporting procedures
+ Advanced knowledge of safety-related national consensus standards (e.g., ANSI, NFPA)
+ Exceptional interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
+ Ability to perform in a supervisory/managerial capacity

Our Fulfilment Centres are at the heart of Amazon’s rapidly growing business: they’re where we handle our fast-moving inventory. Our associate teams stow deliveries, pick products, package them up and ship them out: each of these groups have played their part in taking us where we are today.
It’s in this logistics environment that we will need an experienced Health and Safety Manager to play a critical role. You will be supervising overall Health and Safety standards in this Fulfilment Centres, while also working towards the continuous improvement of functionality and efficiency.
Your responsibilities:
You will be coordinating key aspects of output: people management, metrics, productivity targets, and process improvements. The extent of your responsibilities will include:
- Handling Health and Safety and employee satisfaction at your Fulfilment Centres, including supervising employee wellbeing and productivity.
Effectively collaborating on Health and Safety projects, across various Operations sites.
Providing authoritative guidance on Health & Safety matters to all stakeholders, especially on those relating to your designated area of responsibility.
Review and audit arrangements for Health & Safety management, while continuously improving these arrangements where appropriate.
Plan and implement work systems around reducing Health and Safety risks, e.g. recommending suitable adaptations to machinery and processes.
Ensure robust reporting regimes are in place for Health and Safety statistics.
Provide management with information and statistics related to your area of responsibility.
Support business change, via effective change management processes in the context of your Fulfilment Centre’s flexible environment
Direct behavioral culture change programs, across a large, complex, multi-shift operation.
- Implement and review Amazon’s global safety policies, ensuring that local legislative requirements are also met
- You possess experience of Lean, 5S and Kaizen methodologies.
Qualifications or experience of environmentally-conscious initiatives would be advantageous.
Communication and influencing skills: you’re also results-oriented and tenacious.
Flexible approach to work, while always managing your own priorities and workload.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and to motivate teams.
You can quickly build credibility, using your influencing skills and strategies to build buy-in for change.
