**Essential Responsibilities and Duties**:
1.Reviews all designs, drawings and project documents to ensure compliance with local and international safety codes, standards and professional practices.
2.Ensures safety code requirements are met in a consistent and reasonable manner.
3.Develops safety engineering policies, procedures and programs.
4.Ensures quality assurance and safety checks are carried out on all construction sites.
5.Ensures that Project Management Engineering staff is aware of the latest standards, codes, and professional practices.
6.Assures Hospital employees and contractor staff follows safety engineering work practices and utilizes Hospital Guidelines and policies for planning and executing work in a safe manner.
7.Assists in resolving complex technical problems and coordinates problem resolution.
8.Liaises with the department regarding all the safety engineering concerns.
9.Participates in key decisions pertaining to strategic initiatives, operating models, and operational execution related to the assigned area.
10.Develops of safety-oriented culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, and high performance.
11.Manages/performs periodic site visits to ensure that safety is observed by the employees especially at the construction sites.
12.Reviews and coordinates the hospital emergency response drills and performance.
13.Participates in self and Hospital’s quality improvement plan preferred.
14.Follows all Hospital related policies and procedures.
15.Participates in self and other’s education, training and development, as applicable.
16.Performs other related duties as assigned.
**Education**:
Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Architectural, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or other related discipline is required.
**Experience Required**:
Seven (7)years of related experience with a Master’s, including three (3) years at amanagerial position or nine (9) years with Bachelor’s Degree is required.
**Other Requirements(Certificates)**:
- At least five (5) years’ experience working in Saudi Arabia in related field with strong management skills.
- OSHA credentials strongly preferred.
- Demonstrate leadership ability, team management, and interpersonal skills
- Knowledgeable in Safety Codes & Standards in the U.S. and Middle East including NFPA, ASME, ASTEM, UL, and ASHRAE.
- Ability to work in a multicultural team as well independently.
- Skilled in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, Primavera and/or Microsoft Projects.
- Non-Saudi Engineers must obtain minimum of five (5) years of related experience.
- Saudi Council of Engineers license is required.

**Qualifications**:
- BS in environmental, health, safety or relevant scientific or engineering field.
- 5+ years’ experience in an EHS Construction, operations, or engineering function.
- Fundamental understanding of electronics technology, supply chain, manufacturing processes and construction trade practices.
- Have valuable experience managing EHS policies, standards, programs, or procedures.

A trusted and well established client of ours in The Middle East is seeking an experienced Facility Management and Safety Director.
The function of the Facility Management and Safety Director is to manage and direct activities related to construction, maintenance and repair of buildings, grounds and equipment within the organization in line with the required governmental laws and regulations and approved organisation's policies and procedures.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities :
- Plans, organizes, coordinates, staffs and directs various facility-related construction, maintenance and repair processes and programs; provides guidance and technical expertise to staff performing facility-related activities.
- Assures appropriate department staffing; selects, assigns, trains, and monitors staff performing a wide variety of facilities-related duties.
- Evaluates employee performance and takes appropriate action on disciplinary matters; verifies and monitors staff proficiency; identifies staff development needs and oversees training activities as required.
- Plans, assigns and directs the operation, maintenance and repair of buildings and related infrastructure / equipment including all major hospital utility systems such as high pressure boilers, steam lines, water, sewer, telephone, gas, electrical, HVAC and Medical Gas systems.
- Coordinates remodeling, renovation and new construction projects as assigned.

- Coordinates the purchase and storage of all materials, e quipment, tools and services provided by outside vendors for the repair and maintenance of facilities, equipment and grounds.
- Develops, interprets and applies policies and procedures for facility management and safety.
- Reviews and revises policies and procedures pertaining to hazardous materials, hazardous / infectious waste, emergency response, asbestos maintenance and other safety-related programs.
- Establishes and directs the preparation / maintenance, implementation and monitoring of department policy and procedure manuals.
- Prepares and submits reports; collects and maintains accurate operations and other data.
- Investigates complaints regarding facilities services; determines and implements corrective actions.
Specialized Knowledge / Skills :
Education / Licenses :
Degree in Mechanical, Civil or Electrical Engineering at an accredited College or University
Professional Experience :
Six years minimum experience in plant engineering, plant operations and plant maintenance in a large commercial, industrial or institutional building or building complex including two years supervising staff and operational activities, preferably in a large, acute hospital facility .
