  • Performs wound assessment, reassessment and management for all patients as per policy. This includes neonates, pediatric, geriatric, and the general population.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and the skills necessary to provide age appropriate care to the patient population being served.
  • Demonstrates thorough knowledge of wound assessment and staging system.
  • Establishes and updates standards of care, competencies, policies and procedures about wound care program to include patient care protocols and documentation tools.

  • Monitors hospital acquired pressure rates and leads the team for conducting Pressure Ulcer Prevalence Survey at least quarterly.
  • Consults other healthcare professionals/departments as appropriate to provide interdisciplinary approach specifically based on the patient’s needs.
  • Revises plan of care as indicated by the patient's response to treatment and evaluates overall plan for effectiveness.
  • Monitors compliance with wound care policy.
  • Participates in the education for and the evaluation of new products, equipment, technology and system processes to improve wound care management.
  • Participates in relevant education programs, in-services and workshops to increase professional competency and meet personal needs and goals.
  • Provides patient, family and staff education regarding wound management, prevention of pressure ulcers, support surfaces, dressing selection and other adjunct therapies.
  • Provides basic wound care training and orientation to all newly hired nursing staff.

Job Description

The Role
• Supervise and manage nursing personnel in the Male Medical-Surgical Ward, including Registered Nurses (RNs), nursing assistants, and support staff. • Oversee daily operations of the ward, ensuring proper staffing, patient care delivery, and compliance with hospital procedures. • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans for medical and post-surgical male patients in collaboration with physicians and allied healthcare professionals. • Monitor patient conditions, administer medications, manage post-operative care, and promptly respond to clinical emergencies. • Support and mentor junior nursing staff, conducting performance evaluations and facilitating training as required. • Ensure appropriate documentation of patient care, medications, progress notes, and treatment plans. • Communicate effectively with the multidisciplinary healthcare team, patients, and families to ensure coordinated and compassionate care. • Oversee infection control, patient safety, and quality assurance initiatives within the ward. • Ensure that equipment, medications, and ward supplies are adequately maintained and stocked. • Participate in audits, quality improvement programs, and policy implementation. • Competitive Salary, Housing Assistance, Visa and relocation support, other governmental benefits are applicable for this role.

Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) from a recognized institution. • Valid Nursing License (SCFHS Preferred) or equivalent Home Country License. • Minimum of 5-7 years of clinical experience, with at least 3 years in a charge nurse or supervisory role within a medical-surgical setting. • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications. • Strong knowledge of medical-surgical care, post-operative management, infection prevention, and emergency protocols. • Excellent leadership, critical thinking, and clinical judgment skills. • Ability to manage teams and maintain calm in high-pressure situations. • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-focused approach. • Fluency in English (proficiency in Arabic is a plus).
