PRIMARY OBJECTIVES & FUNCTIONS
The role holder shall perform preventative and corrective maintenance on the following equipments within the communications network:
- High Frequency (HF)
- Tropospheric Scatter
- Secure Mobile Radio (SMR)
- Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT)
- Information Technology (IT)
The role holder shall be expected to perform as an individual and as part of a team to provide 24/7 service response and support the Regional Control Centre (RCC) when required.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To perform scheduled maintenance (MIC) of all HF, Tropospheric Scatter, VSAT, SMR and IT equipment and associated cabling including the completion of electronic workbook and database records.
- To restore service on all HF, VFT, Tropospheric Scatter, VSAT, SMR and IT network faults under the supervision of the RCC. Complete Maintenance Service Outage (MSO) reports within 24-hours and Fault Investigation Reports (FIR) within 48-hours of service restoration.
- To restore service on IT server platforms that provide operation and management capabilities.
- To ensure all MIC, MSO and FIR records and reports are completed as per the company processes and procedures.
- To provide field support for Hajj and Janadriyah festivals and Royal Inspection Tours to desert locations.
- To perform other ancillary tasks related to the main job function as delegated by the immediate management.
- To be prepared to serve at other locations as and when required to meet business needs.
- To provide 'on the job training' to technicians as directed by regional management.
RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION (Knowledge & Experience):
- An ONC/D or equivalent in a relevant telecommunication engineering subject.
- At least 3 years radio telecommunications experience that includes HF, Tropospheric Scatter and VSAT with Tetra optional.
- At least 3 years network communications experience including interaction with a control centre.
- IT competence in the operation of Microsoft Office.
- Must have driving license from country of origin.
