AtkinsRéalis is seeking an experienced and proactive Vertical Transportation Engineering Specialist.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the Design Consultant's work on vertical transportation systems, including lifts, escalators, and travelators, within the city.
- Provide technical guidance to Design Consultants through regular review meetings and formal requests for information.
- Act as the single point of contact for technical issues between the Design Consultant and NEOM's wider functions, sectors, and departments.
- Lead design reviews of technical design deliverables, ensuring alignment with THE LINE Codes, Standards, Guidelines, and Requirements.
- Ensure consistency in design solutions across THE LINE.
- Identify key risks and document them in the Risk Register, following through with mitigation strategies.
- Escalate high-risk design issues to the relevant Subject Matter Expert (SME).
- Drive innovation and best practices in design delivery by appointed consultants.
- Integrate considerations for innovation, sustainability, and operations and maintenance into the design process.
Requirements
- Degree and/or postgraduate qualification in a relevant field of study, or equivalent.
- Chartered Membership of a recognized professional institution/organization or Professional Engineer status is preferred.
- Minimum of 20 years of professional experience, with a significant portion in the required expertise discipline.
- Exposure to the Middle East is advantageous.
- Strong international presence in the vertical transportation discipline.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Codes, Standards, and Guidelines related to vertical transportation in high-rise buildings.
- Deep understanding of sustainability principles and their integration into design.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical directions effectively.
- Strong social, networking, and presentation skills are essential.

**POSITION OVERVIEW**:
We are currently seeking an Engineer with specialist skills in Rail Signaling and Communication to join QIDP to work with multidisciplinary engineering teams delivering a portfolio of exciting rail and infrastructure projects in Riyadh. You would be joining our multidisciplinary team focusing on technical excellence and innovative Rail and control solutions that shape a better future for people and the planet.
Reporting to our Senior Systems Engineering Manager and supported by our Engineering Management Director, you will work with project teams of Railway and Infrastructure sectors on different project stages. You will provide support and advice to multidisciplinary teams across PARSONS on all systems design and integration. This can range from leading design management, interface management and delivery.
The range of projects we are involved with are city wide and include GoA4 level Light Rail, Metro and High Speed Rail networks with latest Rail signaling technologies such as CBTC and ETCS.
**SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- The Engineer will develop signalling engineering plans, designs, specifications, and requirements for various Rail and infrastructure projects
- Deliver design scheme plan layouts, Control Tables, signalling and communication equipment Rooms layout
- Organize and produce documental, software and hardware design deliveries accordingly to the project templates and needs
- Analyse and manage design change requests and participate actively to the definition of the HW & SW package to be delivered to the installation, V&V, Testing & Commissioning and integration teams
- Collaborate and Integrate the signalling and communication systems design with other rail and civil disciplines.
- Develop and review designs for Communication systems design activities such as passenger information and security systems on stations, Depot systems, OCC systems and Fixed Telecom networks.
- Develop and review designs for CCS and Radio networks such as TETRA, WiFi, GSM-R and LTE-R.
- Produce and validate the technical requirements for the signalling and communication systems including trackside and rolling stock to be delivered by contractors.
- Support multiple project developments for full life cycle of projects.
- Ensures adherence to all corporate, contractual, ethics and safety standards, policies, and procedures.
**PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE**:
- Bachelor of Engineering or Master of Science in Electronic / Electrical / Computer/Telecom Engineering
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in the rail projects
- Strong knowledge of Signalling and communication systems, including interlocking, train control, CCS, Radio systems and Rolling Stock systems.
- Must have experience on Light Rail, Metro(GoA4) networks (High Speed Rail experience is a plus but not essential)
- Must be detail oriented, possess excellent organization skills, ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintain a high quality of work
- Excellent written and oral communication skills as well as the ability to work well in a team environment are a must
- Experience with GoA4 fully automated rail systems based on CBTC and/or ETCS signalling technologies.
- Demonstrated understanding & experience of rail signalling and communication systems requirements preparation and design
- Familiarity with CENELEC standards (CENELEC EN 50126, 50128, 50129 etc.)
**SKILLS/COMPETENCIES**:
- Familiarity with current engineering safety management practice
- Demonstrated teamwork and management skills.
- Proven experience of working within complex construction environment.
- Ability to work in a matrix organization (dual reporting). Ability to interact with senior-level management. Ability to consult, motivate, and negotiate effectively with client groups, co-workers, employees, vendors, and contractors.
