**Job Description:**
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented FPS-117 Radar Engineer to join our team!
**What You'll Be Doing:**
+ Supports the RSAF Officer-in-Charge by:
+ Actively advising and assisting in all aspects of his specialty.
+ Continuously monitoring of all RSAF training in his specialty and recommending improvements.
+ Training RSAF Engineering Officers and Warrant Officers in practical and theory.
+ Producing adequate engineering training material in his specialty.
+ Performing intermediate level maintenance in his specialty as required.
**What Required Skills You'll Bring:**
+ BS degree and typically 10+ years of related professional experience or 20+ years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
+ Must have a minimum of fifteen (15) years' experience on a wide variety of surveillance Radars including FPS-117.
+ Must have theoretical and practical knowledge and experience with FPS-117 Radar operation & maintenance.
+ The experience should include installation, testing, integration, upgrades and modifications to the FPS-117 Radars.
+ Overall experience with Radars should include Air Defense Ground Radar, Primary/Secondary, all aspects of 3- dimensional Radar plot extractors, Height Computers, and interface equipment.
+ The technical know-how should include Antennas, Processors, computers, monitoring, data transmission, plot extractors, power systems and other sub systems associated with FPS-I17 Radars.
+ Specific experience with the FPS-117 is required to include at least three (3) years in developing and/or maintaining the FPS-117 Radar System.

Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities
- Carry out intermediate level installation and maintenance of Ground Surveillance Radars.
- Carry out PMIs on the Ground Surveillance Radars.
- Support Radar sector and/or site personnel over the phone in the maintenance activities.
- Support Mobile Maintenance Team (MMT) functions and travel to remote Radar sites to perform specialized installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of hard failure tasks.
- Implement modifications of approved Ground Surveillance Radar hardware and software changes.
- Advise and assist the installation teams on issues related to Ground Surveillance Radars.
- Review, update, and implement training material for Ground Surveillance Radar maintenance training in order to improve the quality of the training material.
- Train the Engineering Officers and technicians in Ground Surveillance Radar maintenance.
- Keep abreast of emerging Radar technologies.
- Review Statements of Work (SOW) and other technical documents to ensure these documents address all requirements.
- Research and prepare technical documentation for presentation to personnel.
- Recommend technically viable solutions and contribute where economically feasible to Radar enhancements/upgrades.
Qualifications
Shall have a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) or higher degree as a minimum in Electrical/Electronics or Computer Engineering or experience that demonstrates competency. Specialized training and certification in each area of Radar expertise in general is a requirement. Must be qualified and specialized on Ground Surveillance Radar equipment, hardware and software, alignments, installations, operations, and maintenance. Should be well-versed in the use of general electronic testing equipment, desktop productivity tools (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etc.), and knowledgeable in the use of Radar peculiar support test equipment. Should have a can-do attitude, willing to travel to remote sites on short notice, and willing to learn new procedures and practices for upgrade and modification of the Ground Surveillance Radar.
Experience
1. The candidate shall have a minimum of five (5) years of experience working on a wide variety of Ground Surveillance Radars; ten (10) years of experience is desirable in lieu of degree.
2. The experience shall include five (5) years working with Ground Surveillance Radar including installation, testing, alignment, integration, upgrades and modifications, or maintenance.
3. The candidate must have worked on antennas, processors, computers, displays, data transmission, plot extractors, power systems, and any other subsystems associated with the Ground Surveillance Radar.
4. Overall experience shall include working with Ground Surveillance Radar, Primary and Secondary (IFF), 3-dimensional Radar plot extractors, Height Computers, and communications interface equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop installation plans for the C4I Radar systems and subsystems taking into consideration the technology.
- Evaluate C4I Radar procedures in light of the latest operational concepts, and recommend changes for future C4I plans.
- Execute tasks assigned by management related to the C4I Radar systems and subsystems including attending meetings and conferences, preparing briefings, etc.
- Keep abreast of emerging C4I Radar technologies, operational and technological research, and user trends in terms of the operational and technology choices.
- Recommend/contribute economically feasible and technically viable solutions to the C4I enhancements/upgrades.
- Assist the radar engineers/technicians with any installation and maintenance support involving troubleshooting and installation of the Ground Surveillance Radar, communications equipment, and test/support equipment.
- Review all quality control procedures used during system equipment maintenance and make appropriate recommendations.
- Assist the program management personnel on all maintenance matters and procedures, regarding the use of system spares, test/support equipment, and technical orders.
- Support Mobile Maintenance Team (MMT) functions and perform TDY when required.
- Prepare/update On-the-Job (OJT) training material and conduct training to personnel in organizational and depot level maintenance.
- Provide support and advise on manning requirements.
Qualifications
The Ground Surveillance Radar Engineer shall have a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree as a minimum in Electrical/Electronics or Radar Engineering; a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree is desirable. Specialized training and certification in the area of Radar expertise in general is a requirement. Must be qualified and specialized on the Ground Surveillance Radar equipment, hardware and software, alignments, and operations and maintenance. Willing to travel to remote site assignments on a short notice.
Experience
- Must have a minimum of ten (10) years experience on a wide variety of Ground Surveillance Radars and a minimum of five (5) years of this experience in planning, designing, developing, upgrading and modifications to Radars in a military environment and at least two (2) years experience in training the Radar technicians.
- Overall experience shall include working with Ground Radar, Primary and Secondary (IFF), 3-dimensional Radar plot extractors, Height Computers, communications interface equipment, and current computing technologies.
- The candidate shall have supervisory and managerial experience in C4I system management, installation, integration, testing, operation, and maintenance.
- Must have theoretical and practical knowledge in Radar Engineering and experience with Long Range Radar planning, designing and development.
- The experience shall include installation and maintenance of Ground Surveillance Radars.
- The candidate must have the experience to adjust, align, assemble, calibrate, configure, debug, disassemble, integrate, install, maintain, modify, operate, overhaul, program, repair, test, and troubleshoot C4I radar systems, networks, and subsystems.
- The candidate must be experienced in using the specialized test equipment, tools and testing procedures to troubleshoot Radar components down to the component level.
- The technical know how should include Antennas, Processors, computers, monitoring, data transmission, plot extractors, power systems and other sub systems associated with Ground Surveillance Radars.
- The candidate shall have experience demonstrating excellent communication skills including written and verbal communication skills.
- The experience shall include demonstrated ability to work independently, completing multiple and often competing tasks.
- Must be knowledgeable/experienced with safety regulations associated with Radar systems.
- Must be able to read and interpret wiring diagrams and other technical design documents to include interconnectivity wiring diagrams, block diagrams, technical orders, and troubleshooting flow charts.
- Must have experience developing technical reports, writing technical procedures, developing OJT material, etc.
