About The Role

We are currently seeking a diligent and experienced Quality Engineer to join our team on a prestigious Airport PMC Project in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia . The Quality Engineer will play a key role in supporting the implementation and monitoring of the Quality Management System (QMS) throughout all phases of project delivery, ensuring that all activities meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance.

This role is ideal for professionals with strong attention to detail and a deep understanding of international and regional quality standards applicable to airport and infrastructure developments.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Quality Management Plan (QMP) in alignment with project specifications and client requirements.
  • Conduct regular inspections, audits, and quality surveillance across all work streams and ensure contractor compliance with project quality standards.
  • Review and monitor contractor and subcontractor quality documentation, including ITPs, Method Statements, Quality Control Procedures, and Material Approvals.
  • Participate in the review of NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports) and support the close-out process, ensuring corrective and preventive actions are effectively implemented.
  • Maintain accurate records of quality audits, test reports, site observations, and progress on quality-related KPIs.
  • Monitor construction and installation activities to ensure works are performed as per approved designs, drawings, and quality standards.
  • Coordinate with PMC, design consultants, and the contractor to address any quality-related concerns and ensure timely resolution.
  • Support preparation of project quality reports, dashboards, and presentations for internal and client use.
  • Assist the Quality Manager in conducting training and awareness sessions on quality procedures and practices.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and proactive quality management across the project team.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 10 years of quality engineering experience, with at least 5 years in major airport or infrastructure projects in a PMC or consultancy role.
  • Strong understanding of ISO 9001 QMS, construction quality control procedures, and international standards such as ICAO, IATA, and local authority regulations.
  • Prior experience with auditing, inspection planning, and QA/QC documentation control.
  • Airport project experience in the Middle East region is highly preferred.

Role Summary
The Quality Engineer – Beneficiation is responsible for ensuring the implementation and compliance of quality assurance and control procedures related to the beneficiation plant construction and commissioning. This includes oversight of civil, structural, mechanical, piping, and electrical installations associated with crushing, screening, grinding, flotation, and other ore processing systems.

This role ensures that all project execution activities adhere to project specifications, client standards, regulatory codes, and quality management systems, while operating in a challenging, fast-paced site environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and monitor site-specific Quality Management Plans and Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) for beneficiation systems.
  • Ensure all quality-related procedures and standards are followed during construction, installation, and commissioning phases.
  • Conduct inspections and verifications on civil foundations, structural steel, tanks, piping, and equipment related to ore processing facilities.
  • Collaborate with engineering, construction, and commissioning teams to proactively manage quality issues and support resolution of non-conformances (NCRs).
  • Review contractor and vendor quality documentation (WPS, WPQRs, ITPs, NDE reports, material certificates).
  • Coordinate third-party inspections and liaise with client quality representatives.
  • Monitor and verify material traceability, welding quality, and fabrication compliance on-site.
  • Participate in audits and ensure continuous improvement initiatives are implemented.
  • Maintain QA/QC documentation and ensure records are compiled, reviewed, and handed over according to project requirements.
  • Support punch listing and turnover activities for mechanical completion and pre-commissioning.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Metallurgical, Civil Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Experience in a similar QA/QC role in mining, heavy industrial, or beneficiation plant projects.
  • Strong understanding of beneficiation processes (crushing, milling, flotation, thickening, tailings, etc.)
  • Familiarity with ASME, AWS, ISO, and mining industry standards and specifications.
  • Practical knowledge of welding inspection, NDT, and material testing in the field.
  • Experience working in remote construction sites or camp-based mining environments.
  • Certification as a Welding Inspector (CSWIP/BGAS/API/AWS) or NDT Level II is advantageous.
  • Strong documentation, auditing, and communication skills.

The overall job purpose of the Quality Engineer is to manage and control all quality and safety related aspects of the business, provide support to the QA & Safety Manager and assure compliance with all standards and requirements concerning the quality and the safety.

Main Responsibilities

  • Management of the organizations safety related policies and procedures
  • Support and drive all quality and safety issues of the MRO
  • Responsible for the internal occurrence reporting system "JetSafe" (software)
  • Perform investigations on all reported occurrences incl. monitoring of follow-up by supervisors, staff, operators, airport, etc.
  • Coordinate quality and safety related issues with the local airport, authorities and customers
  • Overall responsibility for all staff trainings i.e. develops, implement and maintain a Training Management System
  • Identify local training requirements regarding staff training and support Quality Manger in competence Management.
  • Make sure training records are available at all times, especially for audits
  • Responsible for the local QMS & SMS related documentation
  • Ensure that all QMS & SMS procedures are in place and followed-up
  • Identify potential hazards and perform risk assessments accordingly
  • Coordinate and conduct audits for all subcontracted companies (supplier audits)
  • Assist local audits from external operators (on-site and postal)
  • Condense and evaluate data derived from audits and reports
  • Ensure that corrective actions are taken and monitor their long-term effects
  • Edit, update and review local manuals, procedures, checklists, etc.
  • Create and cultivate quality and safety awareness
  • Conduct internal inspections and spot checks with supervisors and/or managers
  • Safety communication and promotion initiatives within the organization
  • Other duties as required by the QA & Safety Manager

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years technical experience in the Aviation Industry
  • Holder of Part 66 License/equivalent or Engineering degree
  • Trained and experienced Quality Auditor.
  • Knowledge of Safety and Risk management policies.
  • Knowledge of OH&S and Environment requirements. (OHS qualified)
  • Ability to plan, organize and prioritize.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to influence others by encouraging and mentoring.
  • Team player.
  • Investigative and analytical.
  • Process minded.
  • Good Communication skills
