Position Summary
The overall job purpose of the Quality Engineer is to manage and control all quality and safety related aspects of the business, provide support to the QA & Safety Manager and assure compliance with all standards and requirements concerning the quality and the safety.

Main Responsibilities

  • Management of the organizations safety related policies and procedures
  • Support and drive all quality and safety issues of the MRO
  • Responsible for the internal occurrence reporting system "JetSafe" (software)
  • Perform investigations on all reported occurrences incl. monitoring of follow-up by supervisors, staff, operators, airport, etc.
  • Coordinate quality and safety related issues with the local airport, authorities and customers
  • Overall responsibility for all staff trainings i.e. develops, implement and maintain a Training Management System
  • Identify local training requirements regarding staff training and support Quality Manger in competence Management.
  • Make sure training records are available at all times, especially for audits
  • Responsible for the local QMS & SMS related documentation
  • Ensure that all QMS & SMS procedures are in place and followed-up
  • Identify potential hazards and perform risk assessments accordingly
  • Coordinate and conduct audits for all subcontracted companies (supplier audits)
  • Assist local audits from external operators (on-site and postal)
  • Condense and evaluate data derived from audits and reports
  • Ensure that corrective actions are taken and monitor their long-term effects
  • Edit, update and review local manuals, procedures, checklists, etc.
  • Create and cultivate quality and safety awareness
  • Conduct internal inspections and spot checks with supervisors and/or managers
  • Safety communication and promotion initiatives within the organization
  • Other duties as required by the QA & Safety Manager

  • Minimum 5 years technical experience in the Aviation Industry
  • Holder of Part 66 License/equivalent or Engineering degree
  • Trained and experienced Quality Auditor.
  • Knowledge of Safety and Risk management policies.
  • Knowledge of OH&S and Environment requirements. (OHS qualified)
  • Ability to plan, organize and prioritize.

Support QC Manager to Develop quality-process links with customers in line with the Quality Management system (including: TS16949, ISO14001 / ISO 9001 / OHAS Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Controls Plans, Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) and Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) processes and oversee continued compliance and embedding across the business. Responsible for maintaining relationships with customers and suppliers to maximize profit potential and ensure efficiency. Manage the audit program as well as supplier development and improvement and play a key role in ensuring project deliveries. Work proactively with all Directors, Managers, Supervisors and Employees, to maintain a program of continual improvement within their areas of responsibility. Lead a 'correct at source' and problem-solving methodology (Lean). Work to achieve quality targets for customers and business goals.

General Task Management

  • Ensure that all in-house systems and procedures are updated, revised and modified to meet the needs of external certification bodies.
  • Respond to customer complaints putting in containment actions, full analysis, poka-yokes (error proofing), and implementing short-term and long-term countermeasures.
  • Champion a program for the implementation and sustainment of a continuous improvement culture.
  • Update quality documentation and communicate to carry forward lessons learned from quality concerns.
  • Ensure that all necessary systems and procedures are in place to satisfy all customer requirements and audits.
  • Introducing new systems and procedures where appropriate.
  • Train others in all aspects of the quality system and application of procedures.
  • Undertake internal and process audits of the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Management of the Quality Engineers and Technicians in the sign-off of parts and the resolution of internal/external quality concerns.
  • Lead regular inspection meetings with representatives from appropriate departments to establish an action plan for improving quality.
  • In conjunction with the Supplier Quality Assurance function, reduce the effect of non-conforming supplier materials on the production area's quality.
  • Perform root cause analysis and resolve problems.
  • Stay current and up to date on any changes that may affect the supply and demand of needed products and materials and advise others of any impact.
  • Identify improvement opportunities within the organization.
  • Identify and deploy the technical skill sets, resource levels and systems to deliver projects, including the engagement of external resources as required.
  • Develop, implement and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) for each area of responsibility.
  • Report on achievement of targets and identify any actions required.
  • Ensure that the function operates in accordance with any health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of staff and visitors.
  • Conduct risk assessments of processes and tasks in the department.

Key Responsibilities

The Role

The Qualifications

  • BSc/master's degree in a technical or engineering discipline is required.
  • 8+ years of experience in automotive industry with minimum 5 years with OEM.
  • Experience in launching a greenfield OEM plant and new vehicle is a must.
  • Experience in Interior Systems manufacturing processes and plastic injection and molding is required.
  • Good understanding of product and process design of interior systems.
  • Good understanding of vehicle assembly processes, experience within an EV Is a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the review and verification of design deliverables for conformance with company and client quality standards.
  • Support the implementation and monitoring of the Quality Management System (QMS) in design engineering activities.
  • Participate in internal audits, non-conformance investigations, and root cause analyses.
  • Help track and analyze quality metrics, including design review findings, document errors, and corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with engineering and project teams to support document control and configuration management processes.
  • Assist in the preparation of project-specific Quality Plans and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
  • Conduct research and benchmarking to support quality improvement initiatives.
  • Support compliance with ISO 9001, API standards, and relevant industry regulations.

Education:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering field

Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation standards.
  • Basic understanding of quality assurance principles (e.g., ISO 9001, FMEA, root cause analysis).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); exposure to AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or other CAD software is an advantage.
