We are looking for an experienced Purchasing Manager to lead the opening of Hyatt Place AlUla.
Hyatt Place AlUla represents a significant milestone in Hyatt’s expansion across the region and will feature 214 guestrooms, two food and beverage outlets, meeting space, swimming pool and a fitness center appealing to both leisure and business travelers.
Your RoleAs the Purchasing Manager , you’ll play a key role in maintaining the smooth operation of the hotel by ensuring all goods and services are procured efficiently, cost-effectively, and in alignment with Hyatt standards. You will oversee vendor relationships, maintain inventory control, and support the financial health of the property through smart purchasing practices.
Responsibilities- Manage all purchasing activities for the hotel, including sourcing, ordering, and receiving supplies, equipment, and services.
- Ensure compliance with Hyatt’s purchasing policies, brand standards, and sustainability practices.
- Negotiate with vendors to secure the best pricing and quality while maintaining strong supplier partnerships.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, invoices, and inventory levels within the property’s procurement systems.
- Work closely with department heads to forecast and plan purchasing needs, ensuring timely availability of required materials.
- Supervise and train team members responsible for receiving, storage, and inventory management.
- Conduct regular audits of storerooms, stock rotation, and waste minimization processes.
- Collaborate with the Finance team on budget planning, cost control, and month-end reporting.
- Monitor and analyze market trends to identify opportunities for cost savings and operational improvements.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations and Hyatt’s internal controls for purchasing and inventory management.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in purchasing, supply chain, or procurement, preferably within the hospitality industry.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with purchasing and inventory software systems (experience with BirchStreet or similar platforms preferred).
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and vendor relationships effectively.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred.
