Your mission
As Project Controller – Middle East in our Finance & Administration team , you will contribute to our mission every day by playing a crucial role in driving financial performance and project governance within the Middle East region.

You will be responsible for supporting the Regional Finance Controller in integrating financial standards and systems, as well as ensuring the financial health and compliance of projects. Your mission will include working closely with Project Managers, the Operations team, and the Accounting team, ensuring the accuracy of financial data, challenging project performance, and supporting overall business development through sound financial management.

Your key responsibilities

  • Support the Finance Controller and CFO in deploying and integrating the finance organization across the Middle East, including implementing group standards and systems.
  • Challenge and support Project Managers on the financial performance of their projects.
  • Review and monitor project status, budgets, forecasts, and estimates.
  • Collaborate with entities to produce monthly and quarterly financial statements, KPIs, and budgets.
  • Manage and improve financial reporting systems, project account codes, timesheets, and adherence to CFO instructions related to project financials.
  • Set up and ensure procedures related to statutory reporting and reconciliation processes under ENGIE Tractebel Group standards.
  • Monitor accounts receivable and ensure timely client invoicing in coordination with the project teams.
  • Analyze SG&A, working capital, cash flow, bonds, risks & opportunities, and foreign exchange impacts.
  • Stay updated on new financial, accounting, and tax regulations affecting the business.
  • Ensure compliance of all Middle East entities with ENGIE Tractebel finance & accounting policies.
  • Contribute to defining procedures and methods related to project accounting and financial integration in business development.

Your qualifications

  • University degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Additional certifications (CPA, CFA, ACCA, MBA) are a plus.

Your experience

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in Finance (Business Control, Accounting, Consolidation, Internal Audit, etc.).
  • Experience in consulting and complex, multicultural organizations preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting systems and SAP is an advantage.
  • Proven ability to generate budgets and financial reports.

  • Cost Control :
  • Implement and maintain standard cost control processes across project scopes.
  • Monitor scope evolution and productivity trends to identify cost risks/opportunities.
  • Drive budget alignment with sold scope and maintain deviation tracking tools.
  • Forecast project costs, challenge functional estimates, and report transparently.
  • Support claims and change order analysis with robust financial data.
  • Ensure cost reporting is aligned with financial systems and revenue recognition requirements.
  • Quality, Compliance & Continuous Improvement :
  • Ensure all activities align with internal project control standards (WBS, tools, procedures).
  • Identify inefficiencies, contribute to standardisation and lean improvement efforts.
  • Promote health, safety, and quality best practices within all project control activities.
The Ideal Candidate
  • Degree-qualified in engineering with strong financial acumen.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience planning and cost controlling complex EPC or turnkey projects.
  • Proven track record as lead planner and cost controller on at least two large projects.
  • Experienced in schedule risk analysis and cost forecasting in high-stakes environments.
  • Proficient in planning tools and reporting platforms.
  • Strong communication, analytical and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Knowledge of forensic analysis and claims support is a strong advantage.
  • Must be based in KSA; KSA nationals preferred.

  • Project Cost Analysis and Control
    • Monitor, analyze, and report on project costs for large-scale EPC
    • Track costs across engineering, procurement, and construction phases, ensuring alignment with budgets.
    • Prepare detailed variance reports, analyzing the causes of deviations between budgeted and actual costs.
    • Validating the Petty Cash and Non-PO Based Expense of Projects, Supplier assessment, advance to suppliers, utilization of credit facility and credit
Progress Monitoring and Reporting
  • Collaborate with project teams to track progress and update percentage-of- completion calculations as per IFRS 15.
  • Provide insights and reports on cost performance, profit margins, and project cash flow on a regular basis.
Contract and Cost Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with contractual agreements and project-specific financial
  • Validate costs in line with the contract terms and identify any cost overruns or savings
  • Conduct audits to ensure all costs are allocated accurately to their respective projects and phases.
Inventory and Procurement Cost Management
  • Work with procurement to control and analyze material and service

Risk Management and Cost Optimization
  • Identify potential risks related to project costs, including scope changes, delays, or unexpected

Fixed Assets Management at Project Site
  • Track, record, and monitor fixed assets (e.g., machinery, equipment) at the project site to ensure proper utilization and
  • Oversee asset capitalization, depreciation calculations, and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., IAS 16 for Property, Plant, and Equipment).
  • Conduct periodic asset audits and reconcile asset records to ensure accuracy and prevent asset misplacement or misuse.
Financial Reporting and Forecasting
  • Prepare regular financial and cost reports, analyzing project expenses, and forecasting costs for project budgeting purposes.
  • Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for COO, Project managers, detailing variances, expected cost overruns, and other key financial

Required Skills
